Finally saw Part 7 of the webisodes. Well that was a rather anti-climatic ending to this little set. Probably only got about 30 seconds to 1 minute of new stuff shown. Parts 3, 4, and 5 were definitely the best.

I don't know if I'm in the minority on this, but if they do release Ace (and the Skystriker ), I really, REALLY hope they give him a more realistic pilot jumpsuit and helmet. I never did dig the astronaut get-up the first release Ace had.

Damn. Piloting a Valk' AND holding a fidgety baby. Milia's definitely a crazy ace. I just love the fact that Hik' and Misa's kiss didn't do a damn thing, but seeing a baby just absolutely freaked the hell out of the Zent's.

Ah crud, just noticed that Rock 'n Roll has that wonky wrist-cut joint that Duke and Flint have.

Ah Sh*t!!!! Torpedo and Rock 'n Roll?! SWEET!!!! Really wish they would pack the red-sigiled Cobra Trooper rather than the Red Ninja with this wave. I'm gonna need to start bolstering the Cobra side of my collection with some regular Troopers and Vipers (hopefully), if Hasbro keeps releasing my favorite old-school Joes. What's next, they gonna release Airborne and Cobra Eel's in Wave 7?

To protostar8: The thing about CM's old Legioss and Tread designs were that they both looked really great in soldier mode (bulky, burly, and bad-ass). So, I don't believe that the Legioss was just thrown together. I don't mind CM's style all that much. But I really hope CM's reworks the Legioss' fighter mode with better proportions and completely overhauls that Legioss/Tread connection. And to Toynami (since this is a thread about their Beta): RATCHET-JOINTS ON THE SHOULDERS AND KNEES!!!!! AND SOLID, BALL-SOCKET HIPS ALA THE 1/48 YAMATOS!!!!

As I look at my YF-19, I want to tell it that Guld's coming with two barrels of gunpod whup-ass. Thanks for the pics and links everyone!!!! Hopefully they pack the first release with the FP's. The only real nit I have at this point is that I wish the yellow sections on the nose and intakes were a bit slimmer. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta watch that commercial a few more times.

I guess "booze and sex" wouldn't qualify as "stuff from other anime and toys," huh? Seriously though, out of all the toy stuff currently out there or projected to be released by Xmas time, there's really not much that I absolutely want or don't already have. .........Except maybe this (for my own stupid little amusement): Link. There's something about one of the Obi's perplexed/"WTF?" look that makes me smile.

Along with the intakes, I remember CM's other issues being as follows: 1) Legioss in fighter mode looks badly out of proportion (nose section too stretch out, back part mashed/squashed too close together). 2) Legioss/Tread connected combo wasn't horizontally flush. And might be a minor nit for most people, but the Tread cockpit was a little on the small side. As I've said before, I prefer the Toynami asthetic design just a bit more than CM's. It's just that Toynami's track record in other areas (timeliness, materials used, QC standards, sturdiness of overall toy, updates to fans, etc.) pretty much chucks that design/look advantage down the toilet.

Should I just break out the usual checklist? 1. Spring 2008 = Fall 2008 (at the earliest). 2. Some new pics of their products, but nothing to show they've got the floppy-arm issues resolved. Time to sedate the Mog avatar for the winter. CM's, where are you?!!! Save us with an awesome Tread!!

Make 'em bleed and suffer!! None of this "quick and painless" crap! Not a big fan of the VF-4's battroid mode. For something so sleek and sexy in fighter mode, the battroid design really looks meh.

So based on what happened in this week's webisode, anyone else thinking one of those captives might turn out to be a you-know-what?

If they give me a good origin of Cobra story, inter-related with a creation of GI Joe story, and mix in some of Snake Eyes' MILITARY origins, this Mog will be a happy moggle. Let Larry Hama be heavily involved in developing the script and story, and I may even become optimistic about this film.

In all honesty, I don't mind the hunt all that much. Since I only collect a select handful of the figures and not an entire wave, it doesn't make sense for me to buy from EE or BBTS. I mean, why should I buy a whole wave when all I want is just one particular figure? Besides, it's such a great feeling when you find your latest "Holy Grail" figure out in the wild. I've found Saturday mornings, right when they open, to be the best time to find new stuff at my local TRU's. As for Target, they're a little more unpredictable with the specific day(s) they stock new stuff. But I've found most of my recent Target finds in the morning, usually before lunchtime.

They ratchet-joint the chest (which no one was clamoring for), but they don't ratchet-joint the shoulders or the hips............IDIOTS!!!

Oops! Forgot about JEXPRIME's unique Angelbirds-schemed GBP custom. My bad. To VFTF1, just imagine if they released the woody as a YF-19 (with "accessories")!

Part of me is surprised they didn't try to improve the design some. And yet, part of me isn't surprised at all. Unless they added ratchet joints on the hips and shoulders, I really don't see how they can justify the price they're charging (maybe it's the added die-cast content? ). But yeah, paying US$89 for a figure with floppy arm syndrome would not be something I would be fond of. Assuming the reaction for these new Legiosses is consistently lukewarm (or worse), it looks like that Toynami Tread/Beta is gonna get pushed back once again.

^^PPS--And if you know what's good for you, you'll stay the hell away from my VF-1A and VF-1J.

A few years back, MW member, Lordmasterprince, did a wicked custom job on a 1/60 GBP-1S and VF-1A. Here's a link to the custom gallery: Link. (It's about 3/4 of the way down.) Always wondered why Yamato never released a "brownie" GBP paint scheme. Heck, I'm surprised there aren't more 1/48 or 1/60 GBP custom paintschemes out there too. I know Kurt did a cool custom 1/48 GBP-1S paintjob awhile back, as well. But other than these two examples, I can't think of any others I've seen on the boards.

Looks like Wave 3 is finally hitting the So. Cal area. Thanks to my niece being born yesterday, I decided to take yesterday off and found all of Wave 3 over at a Target (barely a day old and the kid's already helping her uncle out! ). Saw all five new figures, and picked up Firefly, Zartan, and Stalker. The Red Ninja looks cool as hell, but ol' Shipwreck didn't impress me all that much. Didn't see any yellow-variant Stalkers for you crazier-than-me collectors, but I'm extremely pleased with how well the green Stalker came out. The only nit you can pick is that his hands are wrinkled (a byproduct of sharing the same mold as gloved-Commando Snake Eyes). For me, it's a pretty minor thing, especially considering all the issues I had with the original painted prototype. But I still think Zartan should have been packed with a bow ...

Great. I can just imagine Graham sitting on his throne, gently caressing his prototype YF-21, saying to us "You...want....this? I can feel the anticipation swelling inside you. I am defenseless! Strike me down with your POM sword, and take your last step towards the dark side of Yamato!!"

Nah, probably POM. Can't have those swords breaking or cracking while delivering the killing blow.
