  1. I doubt Yamato will ever abandon the 1/48 scale (at least for the VF-1's). They've made a nice handful of variations from the VF-1 mold. And I'm sure they could easily come up with other non-canon Valk schemes. Though, I'd rather they make a few more color variations to the Fast Packs (low-viz, navy blue, or grey anyone?). I might not be the biggest fan of the two-seaters. But I can definitely understand the pain and frustration you guys feel, especially when you know it can be done (Hell, just look at my avatar.). One thing I've always wondered about: other than for sales reasons, why hasn't Yamato made the TV-style versions of Max or Kakizaki in either scale?
  2. Glad to see Jack still has some of his bad-assery skills available. The vampire bite was cool, but there was something about him drop-kicking the overly-pious guy on the subway that puts a smile on my face. Some other random points: * Of all the places to hide out, Dr. Bashir's group picked Inglewood?! * I guess a few of the characters hooked up in the past two years. Poor Jack. While he's been getting tortured in China, everyone else has been getting nookie. * When they mentioned Audrey and Kim, was I the only one thinking this was the writers' saying, "The actresses who play them weren't available for this season, so this is our way of writing them off for awhile." * Kumar needs to chill out and go to White Castle. Golden Arms, I believe Wayne Palmer's been around for few seasons now. (Though, I didn't realize he's the guy from Romeo Must Die.)
  3. Took me a little bit to find Graham's update (Had to remember to look at the main site's webpage). "Popular 80's anime," huh? Any chance HG/Toynami let go of some of the toy-making rights to Mospeada? (snowball's chance in hell, but I figured it was worth asking.) I'll have to wait and see some pics of the SV-51 prototype before I make a decision. But if I fall in love with the Pope-Mecha, it looks like I'll have to buy a VF-0 to pair it up against. EDIT: So, we now know the SV-51 is coming out. But what about Graham's earlier mystery sig. with the 21 spaces? Was the sig. related to SV-51, or does the sig. relate to something else?!
  4. Finally got my YF-19 yesterday (or was it earlier today .............I really should get some sleep) I'm a little surprised that no one thought of (or posted a pic) of this earlier: [attachmentid=39537] [attachmentid=39538] Isamu's "I'm-a-Crazy-Mofo-Who-Doesn't-Mind-Flying-Upside-Down-This-Close-to-the-Ground" Maneuver!
  5. In any case, thanks for taking the time to set up and design this survey, kensei.
  6. ^^^ [Chloe or some other CTU person]: "Jack you need some time to heal and recover." [Jack]: "THERE'S NO TIME!!!!!!" In all seriousness, I'd like them to go "Manchurian Candidate" with the story. It'd divide up the day pretty logically and still keep the suspense and surprises going throughout the whole 24 hours. ...........But I won't get my proverbial panties in a bunch if they don't go this route.
  7. Nice and simple custom! Can we get a close-up of the design you finally went with for the Alaska Base logo?
  8. I guess my question is: Did Revy really put a cap in "you-know-who"? I thought they ended this story arc appropriately. Rock shows that he's accepted (and embraced) living in the "twilight." And he gets to show off what can make him just as lethal as a bullet from a gun. As for the bits after the ending credits, I didn't mind the little epilogue they put in for the last storyline. Plus, it's appropriate to see them all back in Roanapur (if this is the last episode). As for the very last scene, I'm never one to complain about any scene with those two characters interacting. ********************** P.S.--Understand that I saw the last episode unsubbed first, didn't know exactly what was being said, and then finally watched the episode with the subs just yesterday (and was pleasantly surprised by how much my initial impressions were wrong). So, this probably has skewed my impressions for the last ep.
  9. Although I've never panel-lined any of my Valks (so far), I gotta say "no" on this. For one thing, is there a universal agreement as to how dark or how light the panel-lining should be? Should the panel-lining be "obvious," or should it be "subtle"? How about the color used? Should it be black or a light shade of grey? What about on the non-white Valks (like Millia's, the Stealth, or the LV2)? Should their panel-lining be white, black, or some other color? Along with all the other issues folks have already mentioned, this is my problem with having Yamato doing the panel-lining itself: the way they panel-line the Valks may not mesh with MY OWN PERSONAL PREFERENCES. What if I decide to re-do Yamato's panel-lining to my own liking, how easy will it be to remove or "erase" the markings already done? One of the fun things about looking at all the Valks out there is all the cool little personalized touches and/or added details folks put onto their Valks. Panel-lining is obviously one of the ways we make our Valks stand out and look unique. As they say, "Variety is the spice of life." And I'd rather not have Yamato take away (or at least severly limit) one of those avenues for variety.
  10. How much higher does everyone's totals go once we start including the misc. add-ons we put into our Yammies, such as: * Aftermarket stickers or decals * Panel-lining materials * Sealants, etc. * Recasted heads, different colored visors, different or repainted pilots, underarm/side armor, etc. Obviously for customs, the costs are higher. But here, I'm just talking about the little details we add to make a BASIC Yammie look a little bit cooler. As for me, I'll probably be somewhere around the US$1,000 mark after I get the YF-19.
  11. "We figure we've got three months before they sue us for using the characters....." Always guaranteed to get a good laugh out of these eps. Hope they keep making these for awhile. "Fast and cheap," huh? Are they talkin' about her fighting style or her lifestyle?
  12. All stickers. I haven't applied waterslide decals for almost 20 years now (on model airplanes and cars). I wasn't very good back then, and I know I'm just too lazy to apply them properly now (doing all the coatings and everything else).
  13. There wasn't anything really TOO major, but here's a list: 1) Repainted the yellow tips of the nukes black; 2) Created the design for the Fast Pack emblem; 3) Came up with the Ace Card scheme with the Fast Packs (works in both Battroid and Fighter); and 4) Requested different color-schemes for a bunch of the stickers from the standard Low Viz set (red "No Step" stickers, black "UN SPACY" stickers instead of white or grey, just to name a few). A few additional pics in fighter mode (w/out FPs) and a couple of additional close-up shots as requested (Sorry about the flash on these; I tried to touch up the photos as best I could): [attachmentid=38994][attachmentid=38993][attachmentid=38995][attachmentid=38996] [attachmentid=38997]....Guess I had some serious BSG withdrawal going when I did this one.
  14. Not sure if I did enough for this to qualify as a full-on custom, but I'll let mechamaniac make the decision: Link "Black Aces" Stealth Custom or "Sliver Red Aces" Stealth Custom ("sliver" as in a small sliver or hint of red in the spade). Links to (Posts #736 and 738) better pics (Post #19).
  15. Thanks for the compliments, LSB. I gotta give props to Devin, though: he was VERY accomodating with all the little custom alterations and additions I asked for (like modifying the standard Low Viz set so that all the "No Step" and "Danger" stickers were in red, for example). ...And don't be so quick to say "never"........link.
  16. Not sure if Kish' is putting any finishing touches on this, but this "little" custom should definitely be added somewhere in the gallery: Linky
  17. Thanks for the review and pics Graham! I'm glad that you pointed out most of the main flaws and issues in your review. I always enjoy an honest and fair critque. Plus, I'd rather learn about the flaws now, before I have to discover them on my own. Can't wait to get my hands on this. Heck, I already know what my first pose and pic will be of the YF-19. So, what would be the "home remedy" for fixing the off-center gunpod? Also, how long before we start seeing the aftermarket stickers for the bird?
  18. So, is there gonna be a clock ticking down to the review ala the TV show, "24"? [Jack Bauer-style] Do it! DO IT NOW!! [/Jack Bauer-style] But seriously, is it too early to ask who's gonna be making the aftermarket stickers and/or decals (and how soon)? P.S.--Have fun, ruskiiVFaussie. Remember to take copious pics of your YF-19 birds.
  19. The board usually generates the thumbnails automatically when I upload my pics. But then again, I'm usually uploading pics directly off my hard drive and onto the message board. ...........After seeing your pics above, I'm reminded that I should pop the X-Wing (the one for the 3.75 inch figures) onto a flexi and take a few snapshots.
  20. Hopefully, it'll be Revy and the "Manslayer" that have the field day with those guys. Payback's gonna be a bee-yotch.
  21. There's a few other things we DO know: ...Fast Packs and Fold Booster are supposed to come out sometime in the first half of 2007 (Feb. or April '07 if my "I'm too lazy to check back of few pages on this thread" memory serves me correctly) ...And we're all gonna die...........eventually. Just sit tight; I'm sure there's a bunch of guinea pigs (including yours truly) that'll give you 2nd release waiters all the feedback you want once we get our hands on the YF-19 in the next few weeks.
  22. Considering how "meh" the animation for the Alphas and Invid appear on the trailer, they won't have to spend too much to make the toys "animation-accurate." No panel-lines (heck, no panels to begin with!), slap a bunch of blocky objects together, and Boom! Instant product! But knowing how HG and Toynami have been operating (based on their past histories), HG will delay their DVD release until mid-April, Toynami will starting marketing the toys in May (with a late-June projected date), Toynami will actually release the toys in August, but they won't update their website with images of the new toys until late October. Sound about right? And yet, the Beta remains a pipe dream. Looks like I'm gonna be stuck with my current avatar for a few years......
  23. Hrmf, missile barrages should not look like wildly arching "laser"-shots. Just my own personal opinion. But to each his own.
  24. Finally got to see the trailer on the big screen (Mann's Chinese to be exact). And somehow, the black suit comes off a hell of a lot better, particularly in those early scenes where Spidey is jumping around the tops of buildings. Don't know if the reason is because of the digital projectors at the Chinese or if it's just a byproduct of seeing the trailer on the big screen (as opposed to watching the trailer from my computer screen).
