  1. Don't give me any ideas, Sumdumgai!! ......Though I'd just need a recasted, right, open-palmed, TV-style hand.....and then position the arms this way.....and then...

    Graham's Sig

CLEARLY, "The bastards" part of Graham's siggy represents the YF-21 (the Q-Rau and Valk's bastard love-child). And the fact he wrote "bastards" (plural) means he has MULTIPLES of the prototype or preproduction version!!! Either that, or Yamato made its own version of Tread/Beta "perfection," and Graham's comparing it to the CM's version (potential "greatness") and Toynami's/HG's version (a couple of companies that many of us consider a "joke"). And yes, no one should take my post seriously.
  3. It ain't chunky, but it's got some lovin' going on. (And I didn't even need the flexi's to keep the pose in place ). Somehow I have a feeling Max and Millia would have no problem making their Valks do something complicated like this. I've been itching to do a pose like this ever since I ordered the M&M's. Back when I was still lurking on the boards, someone posted a pic of the M&M's doing a tango. I wanted to try something similar but with a slightly higher degree of difficulty. So as soon as I got the box from Los, I knew what pose I wanted to place the lovebirds in (even before stickering 'em up and stuff).
  4. Well, I'm on the West Coast, I ain't too fond of that darn Country music........and I'm still finding 'em. I found the two I bought today at Target, Vermillion21 (also saw the V2 SS & SE there). I went to another Target and found Wave 2 there, as well (though I passed on 'em, since I already got what I wanted from this wave). So far, I've only seen Wave 2 cropping up at Targets, but it wouldn't surprise me if TRU puts them out later this week or weekend. Except for the white-sigil'ed Cobra Trooper, I've seen all of Wave 2 "out in the wild." And as promised, here's some old-school/new-school comparison pics. Sorry about not posing the old school fig's more dramatically, but both of 'em have busted o-rings:
  5. I know I complained earlier about Hasbro changing Beachhead's vest from the original figure. But now that I have him in hand, I can't help but consider him a cool little bugger. The figure still can't sit down properly (with his legs directly in front of him), I initially thought his colors seemed a little too faded, and I saw the same weird sculpt issues that emajnthis pointed out. But I've gotten used to the colors, he's a very solid addition to the recent line, and he's easily the best figure out of Wave 2. Personally, I find Beachhead's crossbow a lot less "fidgety" and easier to pose than Scarlett's. His crossbow parts stay together well enough that I didn't even need to use superglue. I also picked up a Lady Jaye figure today. I'm still not completely sold on the face sculpt, but my Flint figure looked kinda lonely in his display spot. For those of you debating picking her figure up though, here's one thing to consider: she LACKS wrist articulation! <Rant>You mean to tell me that, despite ALL the other figures in this line having wrist articulation, despite Hasbro already designing a Mara Jade (Star Wars) figure that HAS wrist articulation, has arms the same size (if not smaller), AND has the same "bare forearm/gloved hand" design as Lady Jaye, that Hasbro couldn't be bothered to put a couple of swivel wrist joints on this figure?!! <End Rant> Sorry for ending so negatively, but I'll make up for it with my next post to this thread (I'll post a couple of side-by-side pics of the old-school fig's next to their new-school counterparts).
  6. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this latest piece of news: Link. Apparently, Paul Dini (one of the creative forces behind the awesome DC Animated Universe) has agreed to do the screenplay for Gatchaman. Thoughts? Comments?
  7. Wohoo! Thanks Shin!! I really hope they get Larry Hama more involved in the upcoming movie too. Finally, saw the pics of the running color change that will happen for Stalker on the site too. Oh yeah! He's back to #1 on my "wanted" list with a bullet. Also, this little snippet about the Grand Slam figure gives me a lot more hope now for Flash: The two just wouldn't be right without the waffle look on their paddings. Lastly, thanks LePoseur. I checked yojoe.com right I after I made my post and saw that the one I forgot was Short Fuze............bloody useless, mortar shooter!! (Edited because I can't spell "mortar." )
  8. Awwwww. Such a cute, little Valkyrie, aren't we? Very nice work on the custom!

    Graham's Sig

Well, it would fit with the Prophet's Zero-Plus-Zero-Plus alternating release schedule, wouldn't it? .....Except of course, Graham shot the Reactive Armor guess down a few pages back. (My bad) Regulds, perhaps? There's always a crapload of them (saturation), and they did "penetrate" the Macross in both the TV series and in DYRL.
  10. Shin, I bow down to your resourcefulness! Thanks as always for finding all this info. and the pics. That Snow Job is SICK!!! It looks like a great update, and I love that his backpack setup is exactly like the orginal figure! Glad to hear that they're also doing a running color change with Stalker (It just sucks that I bought some green paint today, thinking I was gonna use it to repaint ol' Lonzo.). As for the CG's, the sculpt looks really off. Why couldn't Hasbro just use the same lower torso joint that they used with the Commander? That upper torso joint breaks up the look of the CG's dress uniform too much for my tastes. As for the remaining original 13, let me give it a shot without looking at yojoe.com: From Shin's post: 1) Flash 2) Grand Slam 3) Hawk 4) Scarlett 5) Snake Eyes 6) Rock and Roll 7) Stalker The remaining ones: Grunt (the M-16 guy) 9) Zap (the bazooka guy) 10) Breaker (bubble-gum chewing, comm' guy) 11) Clutch (the VAMP driver) 12) Steeler (the tank driver) And, and, and..........dammit! Who's the last one?!! Unless the Cobra Trooper and Cobra Officer are counted as part of the original 13?
  11. To repeat something Wicked Ace said earlier: THIS THREAD NEEDS MORE ANTI-POPE POSES!!!! (SV-51) (I don't have the SV-51 myself............but I've had an idea for an M&M pose for a long, long time. Not sure if I'll need the flexi's for support, though . I'll post something once I finally get the lovebirds in my grubby little hands!)
  12. I wasn't feeling the sculpted fist either......which is why I cut into his hand a bit. It's a little tight, but my Destro can now hold his briefcase AND pop a cap off on a Joe, all at the same time. I've found that minor cuttings (like for trigger fingers or for Duke's/Flint's elbow articulation) make a really nice improvement for the sculpts and the articulation.
  13. I always love the sheer audacity of this: Link. 'TIS BUT A FLESH WOUND!! Seriously though? Just look at the siggy or the avatar.
  14. Semi-serious here: what if Mac was the one to break it off with the girl? You know, they could do the whole girl gets in danger because Duncan's an Immortal. Mac does the 'tortured hero' bit and tells her he's leaving her to protect her, doesn't want another loved one's death on his hands, reminded of Tessa's death, blah, blah, blah. They could even switch it around and make Ducan be the one to break it off with her, because HE wants her to be fully happy and have children (which he can't provide). Would that have made the story marginally better? It's probably like adding a cherry to a feces sundae. But least, it would have given us a full-on flashback scene (something that was sadly missing from this installment).
  15. I do like the color-scheme for both of 'em. But with the M&M's coming in; the YF-21 early next year (and a possible, additional custom YF-21 I'll commission or make myself); the eventual (hopefully ) Beta/Tread's; the upcoming 25th Anniversary G.I. Joes; and a few more Star Wars figures, I'm starting to run out of display space. So, I'll have to pass on these.
  16. Here's a hypothetical question on the eventual color variation releases: will all the pilots be molded in Guld's knuckles-and-thumbs-connected pose? Personnaly, I'd rather have these non-canon pilots look like they're flying the 21 manually.
  17. Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I had to drop in my own 2 cents. Now that's just offensive..............to steaming piles of crap everywhere. Understand, I'm a fan of the TV series and liked the first movie. But this thing was beyond gawd-awful. Sure, I had read spoilers for the...ahem...."plot." But I can't believe how bad this truly was. The sped-up, fast-forward fight scenes were annoying. The Guardian was a joke. The music was derivative (just get the rights to the original Queen stuff). They . And the Methos of this film was too bitter and pissy (and lacked all of the charm and dry smugness that Methos had in the TV series). I could go on a longer rant. But suffice to say, this is another massive monument of suck laid by the Highlander franchise. At least the anime they made awhile back was surprisingly better.
  18. Very nice work! I especially like that 4th picture (the dead-level, head-on pic of the Legioss-Tread). I rarely get to see pics of the combo from that angle.

Technically, Graham only stated that our batch of guesses (which included a TV version of the SDF-1) were wrong. I know I'm splitting hairs here, but there's still an outside chance that Yamato will make a DYRL version of the SDF-1. I'm probably wrong (of course ), but it's still a "possibility" (a billion-to-one possibility, mind you. But a possibility nonetheless). I'm still curious if my last guess (back on page 19) has some merit to it ..........Graham, can you confirm or deny if your last hint sig' was for a Macross-related product?
  20. Let's be honest here: Based on their track record, Toynami would probably release the toys six months AFTER the movie has been released. Back on topic, would it be a good thing or a bad thing to expose ol' Tobey to the original Macross TV series (or the original Mospeada series, assuming they go that route)?

Add me to that list of VF-2ss fans too. Especially after seeing this: Link. Granted, its fighter mode isn't as sleek as the VF-4's. But battroid and gerwalk modes look solid.
  22. Just when I thought we were never gonna see anymore eps of this. Schweet.
  23. You the man, Shin. Thanks as always for the pic links. Glad to see they re-did the paint apps on Stalker's face. He now looks like the Stalker I remember. Still not completely sold on the colors Hasbro's using for the camo, but it may grow on me. Maybe it's because the pic is slightly blurry, but the figure ALMOST looks like Lady Jaye. It'd help if Hasbro could "puff out" her hair a little more and sculpt her hair out a little closer to the cap. Still, I'm glad to see someone posing the gun holster a bit more properly.
  24. Unless she's a Cylon? (This is mere speculation on my part; I've been staying the hell away from spoilers for Razor or Season 4). As for the covers, add another vote for C.
  25. Eh, we'll just distract him with a giant pit of teeth or with a "dirty little smuggler" (wantin' a little piece o' Boba? ). Besides, he's too tied up with legal suits from all the clones trying to stake claim to the estate of Jango Fett. And hey, I never said anything too offensive about the Empire; I'll gladly sell out those Bothan spies to the Imperials. (Just don't ask the Bothans who they got the DEATH Star plans from. )
