The point still stands though: the nose and cockpit in fighter mode looks short and stubby on the Bandai. And then because of the design choices by Bandai, it still conversely looks too long in battroid mode. A quick and dirty shot to try to mimic the angle of the Bandai pic:

Zarana with Vulture's wings? Okay

If we could get a decal or sticker that looks like one of Ryuji’s Misa scratch-build models. . . 🤤

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau
Mog replied to SMS007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
For folks that followed Clone Wars and Rebels, the whole “keep your helmet on” rule was a bit odd. Mando’s sect is also very different from previous Mandalorian portrayals. But if Seto’s already finding the show hard to follow, Season 2 and 3 would be asking a lot, what with the new characters and weapon added to the mix. Personally, I loved the first and second seasons (and enjoyed the third season enough). But if someone feels that Season 1 expects them to have a lot of prior knowledge, then maybe the series won’t be their cup of tea.- 1438 replies

For comparison purposes, Yamato’s 1/60 fighter from a similar angle: Not exactly a perfect match to the Bandai’s angle. But with the nose closer to the camera, you would expect it to exaggerate the length of the nose a bit. Not seeing that with the Bandai fighter pic is concerning.

Not trying to be mean, but if you’re just through the first season and having issues with the story at this point, you might want to check out now. Season 1 was basically about a bad-ass bounty hunter who grows a conscience when he gives a little kid to the Imps. A kid who also happened to save his life from a charging beast. I’d also argue that having prior knowledge about Mandalorians would have made it harder to follow the story in Season 1. Prior knowledge is definitely required for Season 2 and beyond though.- 1438 replies

They didn’t do the Yammy “shorten the nose for battroid/push the cockpit closer to the nose for battroid” trick.

Them twin suns of Tatooine! Double the UV, double the skin damage. Plus, keeping that stupid, distracted farmboy alive, safe from Tuskens, preventing him from crashing his landspeeder and sky-hopper, and away from surly gangsters and their cronies will prematurely age anyone!

In sudden, unexpected WTF frustration? Pretty much. You’re basically blasting Regults and Zent’ fighters left and right. And one little turd winds up slowly draining the life outta the Cat’s Eye while you’re otherwise occupied (like a cheap little mosquito).

Everything about Bandai’s choices with the bellyplates just drives me nuts. And the joint that connects the hipguard to the leg better be a beast, because I don’t see a tab to lock it into place for Gerwalk.
-
Definitely NOT getting, and I’m one of the biggest fans of the -21. But also, partly due to space limitations and partly due to me absolutely despising the design choices made by Bandai. EDIT: Say what you will about the Yammy’s skinny legs, but she looked clean in all three modes.

You would think that snapping a pic of the fighter facing the camera would make the nose/canopy look longer.
-
Add in those Tatooine suns, and it’s murder on your skin. Vader was right to wear a suit that protected all of him from those harmful UV rays!

It’s the Cat’s Eye! . . . I’m suddenly having bad flashbacks of trying to defend the Cat’s Eye plane during that RT Battlecry game. 🥴

Staying in a Sarlacc pit can age you pretty badly. 😬

It was probably more of an Easter egg at this point. The trio also show up in one of the key Rebels Season 4 eps, technically as paintings/drawings on a Jedi Temple. They might have even appeared in the temple Ahsoka first got the map ball from, but I’d have to double check that. The Daughter’s stand-in, as the Morai that hangs around Ahsoka, has made some cameos throughout Rebels and in the last ep of Ahsoka too.

No external hardpoints on the -21’s wings. The missiles are either loaded in the FAST Packs or in those black diamonds on top of the wing roots.

Honestly, I think DYRL Misa looks prettier than TV Misa. I do prefer the TV series for most stuff, but there are bits from DYRL that were pretty damn good too.

Has Bandai ever treated Macross like its SOC line? I’m guessing (2).
-
For everything that could go wrong, the Bandai SOC was actually quite impressive. All the joints are nice and tight, despite being made of 15 parts/vehicles. Two handed sword poses are no problem. Articulation galore. All the vehicles have nice little touches. And it just has a crap-ton of accessories. There are a few design limitations (can’t really rotate the forearms, so that the wheels are facing the torso instead of the back). But it’s one hell of a collector’s piece.

It’s been a year and a half since they first revealed the Tread prototype. Hopefully, we see a colored prototype later this year or early next year.

Umm, there’s figures trickling out and scheduled for Ahsoka. Of course, there’s still the frustrating discrepancy between the number of releases for the Black Series and for the Vintage Collection. And Hasbro and Disney need to do a better job of coordinating, so that these figures get released around the same time as the shows drop. But this issue’s been there since later season Clone Wars, so 🤦🏻♂️.
