  1. I'm pretty sure we had this argument/conversation about a year ago. Linky. If I remember correctly, the eventual consensus was that the pilot sizes were a little skewed/misproportioned but that the overall size of the planes themselves were pretty much in scale.
  2. ^^I think it's just an additional point of articulation that folks would like to have. Sure, the hood's in the way, but you wanna be able to have the battroid sorta looking at his target/prey. Plus, some up-and-down movement on the head would be nice too. P.S.--Will the original YF-21 thread now be placed in the Great Hall of Super Topics?
  3. Considering his "Itano Circus" style of attacking, I've had Scott/Stig in this pose for years now.
  4. No, an inaccurate and EXPENSIVE approximation of a Legioss that took a few too many liberties and should have been designed using CAD.
  5. DAD?!!! Getting back on topic, to answer your question Uxi, I believe we're looking at an April 2008 release date.
  6. Nah, I've never been a completist. Granted I've had issues with a few figures here and there, but Hasbro's definitely making it harder for me to pick and choose with their upcoming releases. Still haven't seen Wave 5 out in the wild though....
  7. As someone once said, "There's three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics." But charger69's post still proves the original point I was trying to make: that the threads with the most activity tend to be the ones about the upcoming (or recent) releases. Whether it's a YF-21, an SV-51, the upcoming 1-60 VF-1's, or the original Macross 25th Anniversary TV/New Series thread, these threads tend to generate the most activity. That's all. Ain't trying to start a pissing match. .....IN EUGIMON'S OMEGA PANTS!!!
  8. Then shoot, I wish I could change some of my votes! I've got some custom designs all ready to go too. (I'd just need to get the toy in my hand to get the measurements, look, and overall scheme lay-out exactly how I'd like it.) As for being a ninja, I've already got a petite, sharp pair of scissors to get the cuts just right on those infamous "NO STEP" stickers. As the old saying goes, sometimes having the right tools makes doing the job a hell of a lot easier.
  9. Meh, "Strike a Pose" has been up for years now. Of course, it's gonna have a ton of views. But this thread's been up less than six months. And it's already gone past the 100K views mark. Plus, the in-thread replies have already exceeded the number in "Strike a Pose." As I've said in the past, nothing gets this board popping faster than new pics and info. on upcoming releases.
  10. It'd definitely be an awesome service to offer. But unfortunately, I'm one of these "weirdos" that prefers to apply stickers instead of decals. I just find stickers easier for me to work with, they're more in my comfort zone, and they're a lot more forgiving than decals when I f?ck up or get over-meticulous with positioning them.
  11. Actually, my own Shadow Alpha probably has the most frustrating quirks out of all my Alphas: Upward-sloping nose in fighter mode; One of the front canards broke when I was trying to minimize the "up-nose" look (I was able to superglue it back on); and Hips that, when pushed past a certain angle, flop the torso down. That last one is especially frustrating since I have to "cheat" a little to put her in a cool battroid pose.
  12. That Wild Bill looks tight!!! Just hope you can place his revolvers in the "reverse" position, with the butt of the guns facing front (ala the old vintage figure). Yeah, it looks weird to me too. But hopefully, it wont look so bad when the figure is gripping his rifle. Dear Hasbro, Please pack the Vipers in multiples of two per case. Thank you. Sincerely, Mog.
  13. ^^Nah, holding the gun while the whole arm (from the shoulder all the way to the hand) is straight and parallel to the ground. That pic just shows the arm bent like an "L" (upper arm down, lower forearm parallel to the ground). Close but no cigar.
  14. ^^Maybe. But I like that Roy didn't die the "grand hero's death" in the TV series. His TV death was something different, poignant, and somewhat more gut-wrenching. Was it some fantastic legendary battle against ridiculously impossible odds? No, it was just an ordinary sortie to repel some pissed off Q-Rau's (if memory serves me correctly). Roy just happened to be unlucky that particular day........kinda like how things tend to turn out in real life. Granted, his whole post-flight, hang out with Claudia thing was a bit of a stretch. But think of it this way: he got to die "out on the battlefield" (or eventually die from wounds inflicted on the battlefield), he protected his home, AND he got to die quietly and peacefully with a loved one nearby. It's a subtle, yet beautiful way for an old warrior to go.
  15. So, will this be "Stereotype" Spirit? Or the updated look from the recent comics? Regarding the overload on SE and SS, I gotta agree with 'Zilla. As important as SE and SS are, I'd rather have a nice mix of the obscure and other popular Joes released rather than have endless repaints.
  16. I'm surprised no one has mentioned how the left arm is holding up in this pic. Hopefully, this is a good sign for all those folks praying that this is a solid and sturdy toy. (Would be nice though if they could show the arm holding that pose while holding up the gun. ) Of course, you all know my positions and opinions on this release. Despite the new pics, my opinions/positions still haven't changed. So, there's really no point in me rehashing them all again.
  17. I'd rather live in the here and now with all its warts and flaws. Despite whatever crap and pain life can throw at me, there's just too much good sh!t going on right now (both in my life and in my interests and hobbies) for me to check out for 100 years. I mean do I really need to list all my reasons for wanting to stay around and NOT go under the big chill? Of course, after 100 years, someone may finally release a Beta or a Tread that meets my various expectations.
  18. Would like to see the articulation (for both the Regult and pilot) and the price first. But if both meet my expectations, then that would be an absolute YES. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to pose all his Valks aiming right at the Regult, while the Regult gives off that dejected/"Ah frak, I'm screwed...." vibe.
  19. Oh Lordy NO!!!! I've already heard enough horror stories about plastic toys getting warped because of those twisty ties. Except for maybe one exception, I think Yamato's current, molded plastic inserts do a good job of keeping the Valk's in place without really screwing up the toy itself. Besides the last thing I want to deal with when I'm trying to open up the box and get to my Valky goodness is deal with upteen billion of those stupid twisty ties. As I've said in the past, keep it unobstrusive and just use some tamper-proof, holographic, GREAT SEALS OF YAMATO on the box flaps/tabs.

    Custom 1/48 Boxes?

It'd be cool if you could angle the Valk so it's facing head on. Would definitely mix in a lot better with the background you've got in this pic. Also, what's Millia staring at in your first Virgin Road box design. j/k
  21. No wonder Flint wore gloves! No telling what VD's were lurking in the LJ!
  22. Where's the "Can't access the boards or site thanks to the firewall" option?
  23. WARNING: POTENTIAL SEASON 4 SPOILERS IN THIS LINK. Anyone see this pic and info. yet? http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20169703,00.html Intriguing/interesting stuff coming from Ron Moore......
  24. Can we get some battle-damaged Regults with bloodied, bullet-ridden Zent's? Seriously though, I wouldn't mind a few Zentraedi mechs. The possibilities for both comedic and bad-ass poses would liven up the old displays a little bit.
