  1. ^^Please do. We definitely need to see more M+ and Zero customs out there. Heck, a few 1/60 v2 customs would be nice too!
  2. Thanks! Honestly, if it was SE who was surrounded like that, I probably would've bitched about that too. Just to clarify, I did like the begining of Duke and Scarlett's mission. It's just that I would have preferred a different way for the endgame to have gone down. Maybe have Duke act as bait, draw the enemy's fire, and slide into those barrels. The troopers surround his position. Scarlett pops up from somewhere else and starts sniping them off from above. Once the troopers realize what's going on and start firing at Scarlett's position, Duke pops out from his spot and starts taking out the remaining troops (while their attention and fire is focused on Scarlett). A little more strategy; that's all I would have asked for in that scene. *************************************** Regarding your comments Stram8777: In the comics, SE and Scarlett were on an early Joe mission when their chopper got hit. Scarlett got trapped somehow as the chopper was going down and ordered everyone to leave her and bail out of the chopper. SE, of course, ignored that and worked to get her loose. And for his trouble, a gas line or something else blew up and burned his face. They manage to both get out of the chopper, but SE is horribly scarred and his voicebox is damaged. Despite all this, SE denies medical treatment and tells his fellow Joes that he wants to continue and complete the mission. Heroic sh*t like this is probably why the comics version of Scarlett chose SE. That and the whole "His parents and only sister were killed by a drunk driver, while on the way to pick him up after his tour in Vietnam was up" bit and the "My adopted uncle was killed by my best friend, who I think was trying to kill me instead" bit probably made her more sympathetic to him. Chicks dig that whole tragic life stuff.

    VF-2SS site

It's too bad the pics are now gone, but there was a dead-sexy VF-2SS (and also a transformable, red Mospeada Tread too) in this old thread: Linky. Maybe someone saved copies of the pics from this thread?
  4. As I've said a million times before, they'll also need to add some ratchet joints, better hands, and some ball-jointed hips (for that all important A-stance) to really improve the Alphas. And oh yeah!! Some exponentially better quality controls and design tolerances.
  5. Okay, I love the Snake Eyes and Scarlett pairing. (The comics were always so much cooler than the cartoon.) But what I found even more annoying than that is this: Duke and Scarlett are literally surrounded by Cobra Troopers; Were only armed with sidearms at that point; AND THEY STILL MANAGED TO WIPE OUT A WHOLE SQUAD OF HIGHLY SKILLED, WELL-ARMED TERRORISTS?!! W...T...F? Scarlett walks away pretty much unscathed. And Duke only suffers a gut-shot wound. That was arguably the worst action sequence of this entire series so far. At least with the other fights, they were semi-believeable. Snake Eyes uses divide-and-conquer and sneak attacks to whittle down his enemies to a manageable number. Roadblock, Gung-Ho, Stalker, and Beachhead used a two-pronged, misdirection operation to get the job done. Even Duke and Scarlett's first skirmish was smart in that they used a blown steam pipe to get some adequate cover and change the momentum of their fight. But that last little we're-surrounded-but-every-shot-we-fire-kills-every-one-of-them-while-our-enemies-can't shoot-the-side-of-a-barn "shootout"? That was just crappy.

I'm still guessing that all of our NIGHTMARES are gonna come true.
  7. Yes, SS and SE were an awesome duo in those old Marvel comics. But for a minute there in episode 8, I was half-expecting SE to pull the "I'm a good guy; I'm gonna come this close to killing you. But I'm just gonna walk away and not deliver the killing blow" bit. I'll have to rewatch the episode again, but we can't be certain that those four or so Joes died. Tunnel Rat's crew were all wearing parachutes, so there's a possibility they survived the fall (granted they're 20 miles up, but still). As for the other two big-name Joes, we never see them actually get blown up.
  8. Vicious, beautiful, and a straight-up, no-holds-barred, all-out fight!! Episode 8 was FRAKKEN SWEET!!!

    VF-17.
  10. A Roy scheme for the YF-19, YF-21, and heck, even, the SV-51 would be pretty cool. A veritable Skull-1 squad!! As for the VF-22, I've always been a bigger fan of the YF-21. Granted, I'm happy that Yamato is releasing the 22. But I still prefer the black w/red trim I used for my custom YF-21.
  11. Wonder if the internally-mounted gunpods are just an attachment to the existing YF-21's hip parts (ala the Fast Packs) or if the whole hip assembly is made up of new parts? Would be interesting to catch a glimpse of what the VF-22's pilot looks like too. I'd made the Guld pilot mold look like he was flying the plane manually on the custom YF-21 I made awhile back. But doing that made it almost impossible to pivot the pilot chair back for battroid mode. Also I think Yamato may have been better served in releasing the light blue YF-19 variant from the VF-X game. But all in all, glad to see the M+ molds getting some recoloring love.
  12. Roy firing SODA POPS?!! C'MON!! If he's gonna kill the Zents with deculture, he's gonna do it ROY'S WAY: with beer bottles, whiskey bottles, and every hard liquor known to man. None of this soda pop crap. Not ripping on you, macross1979; I'm just against the original picture-taker's idea of Roy being armed with just "soft drinks."
  13. Just saw eps 4 and 5 just a few minutes ago. I heard that the guy doing CC's voice now is the same person who did Starscream's voice in the Michael Bay Transformer movie. Regarding CC, loved the speech he gave in episode 4. He's now one ruthless bastard. Me like the change. However, I'm not so sure I'm digging the revised backstory they're giving Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. I'm cool with how they explained Snake Eye's becoming mute (Though it messes up some of the reasons why he and Scarlett would hook up.). But I don't like how they changed SS to be an utter dick now. He may have been jealous of SE, but the bastard was loyal as hell to his family and clan. Making him some power-hungry, overzealous, young prick really messes the cool character that he truly is.
  14. Inglorious Basterds is about killing damn, dirty Krauts and Nazi's => EEEVIL Nazi's were a staple of the Indiana Jones series => Which has been discussed in a thread or two here on the MW forums. Therefore, a precedent has been established. ...And if Chewbacca lived on Endor, you must acquit. The defense rests.
  15. Like I said before, there might be enough wiggle room for the REAL Deadpool (aka Wade Wilson) to be alive and well in the movie series. Or at least, with an overactive healing factor (and a mouth) after escaping from Stryker and his cronies. If the Marvel movie folks are smart, they'll say that abomination at the end of this movie is some random, unknown mutant. It wouldn't be the first time they've retconned a story. As for the movie itself, if you go in with lowered expectations and know that most of the cameos will be on the short side, you should be somewhat entertained. I was initially unsure if he was right for the role, but Liev Schreiber was surprisingly good as Sabretooth. He brought a cool, in-control, sinister-ness to the character that I've rarely seen before. And though his appearance and actions are rather brief, Ryan Reynolds did a good job of conveying Wade Wilson's unique and smarmy "charm."
  16. It's Tarantino, so you know there's gonna be some interesting monologues/speechifying, some entertaining violence, and hopefully, an eclectic soundtrack. Might be worth checking out.
  17. Thanks for the input! After looking at the filecard online, I can see the similarities between the unnamed guy in Resolute and Hard Ball. About the only weak link I can see with that line-up we saw is that they're lacking a communications guy (like Breaker, Dial Tone, or maybe even, Mainframe). Any other areas or skillsets lacking with that current Joe line-up? Hall of Heroes. Basically, the GI Joe re-release/premium/collector line. Nicer packaging. More accessories and weapons. Maybe a few extra tweaks and improvements to the original 25th Anniversary figure releases. And a little bit more pricey (around US$9 or $10). I don't know if it's Hasbro's intention, but these are supposed to be the definitive releases for these figures.
  18. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the primary differences are: * The stickers/decals used (especially on the legs); * The pilot's uniform; * The arm FAST packs; and * (Maybe ) the arrows on the VF-1S' head.
  19. MEESA CAN BECOME ALL BLUE AND DA GLOWY!!
  20. But typing Hik or Hik' is just as quick.
  21. ^^Maybe it's Iceberg! Or the Fridge on Atkins! Just can't picture ol' Albert Pine without his trademark moustache and googles. Also, it's amazing how adding one undershirt can reduce the gayness of Gung-Ho's look by about...oh....1000 percent.
  22. <singing>Anything 1/60 can do, 1/48 can do too......erm, sorta. Look, I realize the flaws in the 1/48 (the arms and shoulders that sit too low in fighter mode; the ghastly chicken hands, etc.). But I love the "shelf presence" of the larger 1/48's. Besides, it kinda bums me that the iconic VF-1 Valkyries get over-towered by the bigger M+ and Zero fighters (when they're all in the same scale).
  23. Yup, dude gets his face burned and voice frakked. And the bitch up and ditches him to hang out with the higher-ranking first sergeant. Add in the fact that, in the comics, both his real family and his adopted ninja family are dead, and it's no wonder they call him Snake Eyes! Just FYI, someone leaked Episode 3 out on YouTube. So, I pretty much figured out who every Joe was at the meeting, except the black dude standing next to Covergirl, Tunnel Rat, and Shipwreck. Who is that guy?
  24. Just saw the first two installments. NICE! The body-count's already gone up in just these first few segments (and not just throw-away folks either ). Not sure I dig the possible love-triangle they're alluding to here, but we'll see how the story develops. Should be a fun ride!!
  25. Probably the most appropriate thread to put this in: LATEST G.I. JOE RESOLUTE TRAILER!!! Not as awesome as the teaser trailer from last year's SDCC but still looks very promising. Ahh, the sweet, sweet release of death (and bullets)!!
