Yes, SS and SE were an awesome duo in those old Marvel comics. But for a minute there in episode 8, I was half-expecting SE to pull the "I'm a good guy; I'm gonna come this close to killing you. But I'm just gonna walk away and not deliver the killing blow" bit. I'll have to rewatch the episode again, but we can't be certain that those four or so Joes died. Tunnel Rat's crew were all wearing parachutes, so there's a possibility they survived the fall (granted they're 20 miles up, but still). As for the other two big-name Joes, we never see them actually get blown up.

Vicious, beautiful, and a straight-up, no-holds-barred, all-out fight!! Episode 8 was FRAKKEN SWEET!!!

A Roy scheme for the YF-19, YF-21, and heck, even, the SV-51 would be pretty cool. A veritable Skull-1 squad!! As for the VF-22, I've always been a bigger fan of the YF-21. Granted, I'm happy that Yamato is releasing the 22. But I still prefer the black w/red trim I used for my custom YF-21.

Wonder if the internally-mounted gunpods are just an attachment to the existing YF-21's hip parts (ala the Fast Packs) or if the whole hip assembly is made up of new parts? Would be interesting to catch a glimpse of what the VF-22's pilot looks like too. I'd made the Guld pilot mold look like he was flying the plane manually on the custom YF-21 I made awhile back. But doing that made it almost impossible to pivot the pilot chair back for battroid mode. Also I think Yamato may have been better served in releasing the light blue YF-19 variant from the VF-X game. But all in all, glad to see the M+ molds getting some recoloring love.

Roy firing SODA POPS?!! C'MON!! If he's gonna kill the Zents with deculture, he's gonna do it ROY'S WAY: with beer bottles, whiskey bottles, and every hard liquor known to man. None of this soda pop crap. Not ripping on you, macross1979; I'm just against the original picture-taker's idea of Roy being armed with just "soft drinks."

Just saw eps 4 and 5 just a few minutes ago. I heard that the guy doing CC's voice now is the same person who did Starscream's voice in the Michael Bay Transformer movie. Regarding CC, loved the speech he gave in episode 4. He's now one ruthless bastard. Me like the change. However, I'm not so sure I'm digging the revised backstory they're giving Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. I'm cool with how they explained Snake Eye's becoming mute (Though it messes up some of the reasons why he and Scarlett would hook up.). But I don't like how they changed SS to be an utter dick now. He may have been jealous of SE, but the bastard was loyal as hell to his family and clan. Making him some power-hungry, overzealous, young prick really messes the cool character that he truly is.

Inglorious Basterds is about killing damn, dirty Krauts and Nazi's => EEEVIL Nazi's were a staple of the Indiana Jones series => Which has been discussed in a thread or two here on the MW forums. Therefore, a precedent has been established. ...And if Chewbacca lived on Endor, you must acquit. The defense rests.

Like I said before, there might be enough wiggle room for the REAL Deadpool (aka Wade Wilson) to be alive and well in the movie series. Or at least, with an overactive healing factor (and a mouth) after escaping from Stryker and his cronies. If the Marvel movie folks are smart, they'll say that abomination at the end of this movie is some random, unknown mutant. It wouldn't be the first time they've retconned a story. As for the movie itself, if you go in with lowered expectations and know that most of the cameos will be on the short side, you should be somewhat entertained. I was initially unsure if he was right for the role, but Liev Schreiber was surprisingly good as Sabretooth. He brought a cool, in-control, sinister-ness to the character that I've rarely seen before. And though his appearance and actions are rather brief, Ryan Reynolds did a good job of conveying Wade Wilson's unique and smarmy "charm."

It's Tarantino, so you know there's gonna be some interesting monologues/speechifying, some entertaining violence, and hopefully, an eclectic soundtrack. Might be worth checking out.

Thanks for the input! After looking at the filecard online, I can see the similarities between the unnamed guy in Resolute and Hard Ball. About the only weak link I can see with that line-up we saw is that they're lacking a communications guy (like Breaker, Dial Tone, or maybe even, Mainframe). Any other areas or skillsets lacking with that current Joe line-up? Hall of Heroes. Basically, the GI Joe re-release/premium/collector line. Nicer packaging. More accessories and weapons. Maybe a few extra tweaks and improvements to the original 25th Anniversary figure releases. And a little bit more pricey (around US$9 or $10). I don't know if it's Hasbro's intention, but these are supposed to be the definitive releases for these figures.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the primary differences are: * The stickers/decals used (especially on the legs); * The pilot's uniform; * The arm FAST packs; and * (Maybe ) the arrows on the VF-1S' head.

MEESA CAN BECOME ALL BLUE AND DA GLOWY!!

But typing Hik or Hik' is just as quick.

^^Maybe it's Iceberg! Or the Fridge on Atkins! Just can't picture ol' Albert Pine without his trademark moustache and googles. Also, it's amazing how adding one undershirt can reduce the gayness of Gung-Ho's look by about...oh....1000 percent.

<singing>Anything 1/60 can do, 1/48 can do too......erm, sorta. Look, I realize the flaws in the 1/48 (the arms and shoulders that sit too low in fighter mode; the ghastly chicken hands, etc.). But I love the "shelf presence" of the larger 1/48's. Besides, it kinda bums me that the iconic VF-1 Valkyries get over-towered by the bigger M+ and Zero fighters (when they're all in the same scale).

Yup, dude gets his face burned and voice frakked. And the bitch up and ditches him to hang out with the higher-ranking first sergeant. Add in the fact that, in the comics, both his real family and his adopted ninja family are dead, and it's no wonder they call him Snake Eyes! Just FYI, someone leaked Episode 3 out on YouTube. So, I pretty much figured out who every Joe was at the meeting, except the black dude standing next to Covergirl, Tunnel Rat, and Shipwreck. Who is that guy?
-
Just saw the first two installments. NICE! The body-count's already gone up in just these first few segments (and not just throw-away folks either ). Not sure I dig the possible love-triangle they're alluding to here, but we'll see how the story develops. Should be a fun ride!!

Probably the most appropriate thread to put this in: LATEST G.I. JOE RESOLUTE TRAILER!!! Not as awesome as the teaser trailer from last year's SDCC but still looks very promising. Ahh, the sweet, sweet release of death (and bullets)!!
-
Yeah, I saw the leaked version too. Some of the special effects and CG were only partially done. As for the movie itself? Get ready for cameo-city. All in all, it wasn't necessarily a bad movie. It's just that I was far more interested in the supporting characters than I was with Wolvie himself. After thinking about it, my only hope is that Wade Wilson WASN'T the abomination that we saw at the end of the flick. Maybe that "Deadpool" is just some other mutant they grafted a whole bunch of other powers onto, and Wade's still alive somewhere quipping away. Seems like a damn shame to waste such a fun and amusing character like Wade Wilson.

Best thread as any to post this in: I see you have completed your MPC collection*. . .Now your FAILURE is complete! * Yes, I realize that there are other Betas and the Ride Armors out there. But the blue Betas were a good stopping point for me.

AMUSEMENT: Ah the IG droids. . . They are as efficient as me but are severely lacking in the charm and personality department. Shall we kill something now, master? Give me the old copper-brown, blood-thirsty protocol/assassin droid.

^^I believe those round base ones are an earlier, "pre-Los" version. As Do Not Disturb once said, these round base flexidisplays are for those of us who are too OCD about getting the square edges perfectly lined up.
-
In defense of the flexi's, I've had a bunch of Valks on them, and they've really never slid off. Of course when you're positioning the prongs and trying to set the Valk up in that perfect pose, there's gonna be some potential slipping, sliding, and tipping over. But once you settle on a pose, the flexis are pretty damn stable. It's really a matter of how you pose and position them. I've had the Q-Rau and the DYRL Max in the above poses forever. And even after an earthquake, those poses have held. I've also got a TIE Interceptor chilling on another Flexi, on top of an almost 6-foot tall bookshelf. Granted, the TIE has one small part of it resting on the actual bookshelf (So it's being held in position on four resting points). But it has never fallen off or twisted out of position. . . even after an earthquake. So yeah, the flexi's can hold their own. Don't forget too, that the flexi's are distributing the weight of your Valk or mecha onto three (usually) spread-out spots. Most other stands, you're relying on one key connection area to hold the bird up.

I remember there being a bunch of lineart on the Mospeada DVD's. The character sheets might also be on those. I'm gonna be out or busy the next few weeks, but I'll try to check out the DVD's again and snap some shots (assuming the character sheets are there) when I get some more free time.
