  1. Andromeda showed minor flashes of brilliance the first season or two. But the studio and Sorbo dumping Robert Hewitt Wolfe from his executive producer role really sent that series straight down the proverbial toilet. They might not necessarily be the WORST, but I still have a lot of bile towards Star Trek Voyager and Andromeda. It's the whole wasted potential issue. If a series is outright terrible, okay, it sucks and no one expects much out of it. But when a series has the potential to be something great and you simply piss that away, that's a downright frustrating shame.
  2. It's the little things (like minor custom touches) that make life enjoyable!
  3. The ball-jointed hips on the Bespin Luke are a little wonky to pose (Don't expect to pose him sitting in a chair all proper-like). But yeah, it's a pretty kick-ass, dead-on sculpt. I'm still amazed at how well Hasbro was able to hide the ankle joints on him. But can someone explain to me why they left the peg on the lit-up lightsaber? Also picked up the Hoth Leia at the same time (about a month ago). Not too shabby either. A mild warning though: if you're gonna pose her without the vest, she'll have a little bit of the "bubble butt syndrome" going on (not that there's anything wrong with that! ). Now, I'm just waiting for the Magnaguards to be released (I have a feeling they'll be impossible to find since they're gonna be packed 1 to a set, and everybody's probably gonna try to troop-build 'em or get at least two ).
  4. I heard he's gonna base these initial Blu-rays off the old non-anamorphic copies. (or should that be a )
  5. I've found my shopping list to be getting smaller and smaller over the past few years (must be due to having a wife and kid now ): Intending to Buy: * SW Bastila Shan - assuming the articulation is reasonably good and they use her actual video game appearance as a sculpt reference (including her maroon and pink get-up). Maybe Purchase: * SW Magna Guards - to replace the two ROTS ones (and their limited articulation) that I currently have on display. * GI Joe Low Light - would unbalance my main Joe display, but liked what I saw from the SDCC pics. If I had the Money (AND someone to build, customize, refine, and paint 'em): * 1/2000 Yamato DYRL SDF-1 * 1/60 Yamato Regult And I'm adding my own category: If They Ever Mass-Produce It, It Looks Good, and is Reasonably Priced, I'M ALL OVER IT!!: * SW Bespin Han; * SW KOTOR-era Sith Troopers; * 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare or 1/60 VF-171 Nightmare Plus; * 1/3000 TV-STYLE SDF-1 (because DAEDALUS ATTACK > ARMD Attack)
  6. It's purty!! You weren't kidding about things getting out of hand with the surrounding city. Are you planning to add any other details to the Macross itself, like all those wires and cables that connected it to the city? Very nice work indeed!!
  7. Regarding Renegades, the animation look/style will take some getting used to. Haven't really been following the news about this, but my understanding is that this is geared with a younger audience also in mind?
  8. Great, Galen Marek is gonna get "disintegrated."
  9. They never did find the Commander's body. . . The door's still open to continue the storyline.
  10. Though if you have to choose between Razor or The Plan, stick with Razor. You get to see some kewl stuff blowned up real good, and the characterizations ain't too shabby either. As for that other one, I just try to think of The Plan as some hastily tacked-on appendix/epilogue.
  11. I've actually found the following "rotating" method to be the easiest way to remove the FP arm armor: One thing though: make sure the anterior part of the FP isn't locked into the wing root like in the picture above. You'll want to tilt the tailfins into their High-Speed Mode angle before you attach or detach the arm FP's.
  12. You might wanna tighten (or loosen) the screw found inside the left landing gear bay. Other posters here have indicated that this helps to fix a floppy wing.
  13. I was gonna post a longer comment. But the refs disallowed it.

    1/2000 SDF-1 CUSTOMISED

That would be the sound of hundreds of jaws on MW dropping yet again.

    1/2000 SDF-1 CUSTOMISED

Pretty sure Graham's been having issues loading up the MW forums ever since the recent board upgrade. This is probably the main reason he disabled his PM's. Getting back on topic, it's really not the kit itself that is amazing; it's all the custom touches that vf_1s put into this that really makes this particular Macross stand out. The paint work; the ridiculous attention to minute details; all the sweet touches and light added to Macross City; the numerous little valks, launch arms, and signals added all over the place; the mechanical modifications that locked the cruiser mode into one solid piece: these are what made this SDF-1 custom AMAZING.
  17. A Smurfs remake, huh? Coulda swore we had one just last year. (Yes, South Park did the joke much better than me, of course.)
  18. ^^And you can use it to gut a tauntaun (for an instant warm, cozy sleeping bag) and for emergency amputations. If that Sith wasn't smart enough to: turn off his lightsaber; Punch or Force-lightning that female Jedi with his free hand; or Use a Force-choke or Force push after that initial hand block. . . .then he deserved to get punked with the ultimate-final-finishing-super-combo Force push. Silly Sith.
  19. ^^Nah, massive-ass Force-push from the female Jedi. We've seen it already in the Force Unleashed series, so it didn't bug me too much. The bare-handed saber-block? Can't really defend that one. But one thing's for sure: after playing the role of cannon-fodder in that first TOR trailer, it's good to see the Republic troopers getting some serious love in this second trailer.

    1/2000 SDF-1 CUSTOMISED

WOW!! I don't think I can add anything more that hasn't already been said. Your acute attention to detail, the level of thought you put into your modifications and touches, and the amount of time and effort you put into this SDF-1 truly shines through. Awesome, AWESOME job!!
  21. I wonder if Yamato will ever do a low-viz grey scheme for the 21 or 22. . . . And I guess this is the point in the thread where I bust out the custom?

  25. Surprised no one on this board has mentioned this cool little modded game before: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/534416 Rather appropriate game for the thread topic.
