  1. Though if you have to choose between Razor or The Plan, stick with Razor. You get to see some kewl stuff blowned up real good, and the characterizations ain't too shabby either. As for that other one, I just try to think of The Plan as some hastily tacked-on appendix/epilogue.
  2. I've actually found the following "rotating" method to be the easiest way to remove the FP arm armor: One thing though: make sure the anterior part of the FP isn't locked into the wing root like in the picture above. You'll want to tilt the tailfins into their High-Speed Mode angle before you attach or detach the arm FP's.
  3. You might wanna tighten (or loosen) the screw found inside the left landing gear bay. Other posters here have indicated that this helps to fix a floppy wing.
  4. I was gonna post a longer comment. But the refs disallowed it.

    1/2000 SDF-1 CUSTOMISED

That would be the sound of hundreds of jaws on MW dropping yet again.

    1/2000 SDF-1 CUSTOMISED

Pretty sure Graham's been having issues loading up the MW forums ever since the recent board upgrade. This is probably the main reason he disabled his PM's. Getting back on topic, it's really not the kit itself that is amazing; it's all the custom touches that vf_1s put into this that really makes this particular Macross stand out. The paint work; the ridiculous attention to minute details; all the sweet touches and light added to Macross City; the numerous little valks, launch arms, and signals added all over the place; the mechanical modifications that locked the cruiser mode into one solid piece: these are what made this SDF-1 custom AMAZING.
  8. A Smurfs remake, huh? Coulda swore we had one just last year. (Yes, South Park did the joke much better than me, of course.)
  9. ^^And you can use it to gut a tauntaun (for an instant warm, cozy sleeping bag) and for emergency amputations. If that Sith wasn't smart enough to: turn off his lightsaber; Punch or Force-lightning that female Jedi with his free hand; or Use a Force-choke or Force push after that initial hand block. . . .then he deserved to get punked with the ultimate-final-finishing-super-combo Force push. Silly Sith.
  10. ^^Nah, massive-ass Force-push from the female Jedi. We've seen it already in the Force Unleashed series, so it didn't bug me too much. The bare-handed saber-block? Can't really defend that one. But one thing's for sure: after playing the role of cannon-fodder in that first TOR trailer, it's good to see the Republic troopers getting some serious love in this second trailer.

WOW!! I don't think I can add anything more that hasn't already been said. Your acute attention to detail, the level of thought you put into your modifications and touches, and the amount of time and effort you put into this SDF-1 truly shines through. Awesome, AWESOME job!!
  12. I wonder if Yamato will ever do a low-viz grey scheme for the 21 or 22. . . . And I guess this is the point in the thread where I bust out the custom?

  16. Surprised no one on this board has mentioned this cool little modded game before: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/534416 Rather appropriate game for the thread topic.
  17. 007-373-5963 For me, my personal fave's would be SMB3 (my all-time favorite Mario game); Tecmo Bowl (and those stupid unstoppable plays!) ; Adventure of Link (found the challenge rewarding); Mike Tyson's Punch-Out (Tyson? Super Macho-Man? No prob'! Mr. Sandman? He'd regularly kick my ass with his special moves!); FFVI (the best in the series); and Chrono Trigger (still haven't gotten all the endings yet). It isn't really reflected in my above list, but the other big difference between the old school games (primarily the 8-bit ones) and the newer ones is that the old games RARELY had a battery back-up. It became a bit of a twisted challenge/merit badge to complete a game in one sitting. I think that little extra challenge is what made playing the games so hard and fun. You'd get to that last level with maybe one or two lives left, thinking to yourself, "Damn it. I'm about to finish this game. I CANNOT make a mistake!!," and the pressure would be on!!
  18. I liked pretty much everything about the finale, except the ending. So, once again, Jack is on the run, having to stay underground and hide his identity. . . only this time, it ain't the Chinese. It's the RUSSIANS!! I think I would have liked the finale a bit more if they broke tradition and added a little epilogue at the end. Pick up the action two or three months later. . . in say, Moscow. One last "interrogation" of Mr. Suvarov and a final satisfying Keifer Kill for the road. (Screw waiting for a movie for an appropriate ending!). Though I gotta admit, it was nice to see President Taylor regain her spine, especially after her straight-up, frakked-up threat to President Counselor Troi-look-alike. Lastly, anyone else catch Mr. Soul-Glo's cameo?
  19. Silly Chuck. Fooled twice by the same ol' bug on the collar trick. Guess Jack was channeling his inner Commando Snake Eyes with that get-up too.

    Limited Exclusives

As Jenius said, it would be nice if these companies could market their exclusives to us directly. Not only would it benefit us non-Japan collectors, but I'm sure Yamato wouldn't mind the extra profits they could make directly on us international sales. Yeah, we'd more than likely be annoyed at the price ("more than likely"? . . . ). But at least, we'd have a more realistic option to get the exclusive; we'd have a fighting chance to "get in on the action." That's what's so frustrating about these exclusives: we non-Japan collectors (primarily in the US) already have to deal with the grey market, just to get the regular normal Macross stuff. Trying to get these exclusives just ups that degree of difficulty even further.
  21. Glad to see the more familiar skin back! Is there any way we can make the fonts just a smidge or two bigger? The small fonts are a little hard on this old guy's eyes. But thanks again for all the hard work on this upgrade!
  22. Just when I think Yamato's gonna pull me back in, they do something that makes me say, "Nah, I'm cool for now." A nicely articulated (yet reasonably priced) 1/60 Regult and pilot toy is one of the few things still on my personal want list.
  23. But what about in Attacker mode? Is the SDF-1 gonna "look" taller than a 1/48 battroid? Nothing personal or anything, but it's a personal pet peeve of mine when people forget to account for the length of the main guns. About a third of that 40cm length is the main guns, so I'm a little worried that the Macross will come up a bit short when standing next to a 1/48 battroid. As for this latest SDF-1 news? I'm still holding out for a TV-style version.
  24. After seeing the preview from last week, I was kinda expecting Jack to blow-torch off half of Russian sniper-dude's face. I feel somewhat unsatisfied.
  25. I don't know. Any time I see a movie ad or trailer with the phrase "in 3D," it makes me wonder if they are trying to use the 3D effects to distract me from the mediocre plot. Maybe I'm just too contrarian, but I find the 3D tag to be something that makes me less enthusiastic to see a movie.
