Wow. She did not just shoot. . . . . . . . . did she? Finally watched all three OVAs with subs. Interesting tidbit about Chang. Gonna have to rewatch that dialogue between him and Rock again. So, when is OVA #4 coming out?

She's the same actress that played Maya on Battlestar Galactica, right? (The cute girl that was raising Baby Hera on New Caprica.) On looks alone, I can see her fitting the role nicely.

It could be done though. He's already got the hot dame who may or may not be on the wrong side of the law (a staple of any noir-style film ). He could have Bats investigating a wave of crimes happening around Gotham and discovering that the Venom drug is somehow involved or related to all of the crimes. He could have Bats and Bane match wits with one another and play a cat-and-mouse game throughout the course of the movie. And then have all that manuevering and scheming culminate in an all-out slugfest between the two to end the movie and the trilogy.

I LOVED X2. It's one of those rare sequels that's actually better than the first film. How can you not like Nightcrawler opening things up by kicking ass all over the place? Or Wolverine being allowed to truly cut loose in the mansion? It was smartly written, the storyline was solid, and the characters stayed pretty consistent with what was established in the first movie. The third one had the potential to be great. But trying to shoehorn the mutant "cure" story with the Phoenix story really did mesh well in that film. Getting back on topic, I'm unsure what to think of this upcoming prequel. They definitely have a weird mix of characters going in to it, so we'll see what happens.

Yeah, it'll be the ROTS version. Hasbro still hasn't come out with a nice pale-green, ESB version of Yoda just yet. I know it's old, but the vintage figure still holds up well with the rest of the more modern figures in my displays.

I remember reading somewhere that it's Liam's voice you hear screaming, "NO!!!!!" when Anakin starts slicing into some Tusken Raiders in Ep II.

Okay, is it just me, or is Ms. Havoc Hathaway giving off an Eva Green-like (the Bond Girl in Casino Royale) vibe in this pic? Totally agree about the detective angle. Seriously, after all the Batman films that have come out over the years, this is the one aspect of Bats that really hasn't gotten a lot of attention or has just been completely ignored in the live-action films. Besides, I'm sure Nolan would love to do another detective/noir-style film.

Yep, it was a good ep. One little nit though: I just can't get over how they pronounce Savage's name. Maybe I've watched Superbad too many times, but I keep thinking of this everytime I hear the prononciation:

I'm on it. Though I must warn you, I only ever saw two Revans back when I was hunting (and one of them had a ridiculously messed up card). I also lucked out because I found Revan at Kohl's of all places. Worse yet, between the early hunters/scalpers and the crappy selection at my nearby stores, my local area is kinda sucky for toy-hunting now. However, one way or another, I am gonna get that Bastila figure. So, if I find an extra one along the way, I'll get it for you.

Thank you, Spies Like Us!! I heard the above hook in this classic movie, looked at the soundtrack online, and BOO-YAH! Not really feeling that part at the very beginning, but definitely love the rest of it.

My sentiments exactly. Look, I realize there's some political subtext/message in the film. But personally, it didn't detract me from enjoying the rest of the film. I mean seriously, how can you not enjoy a film where the hero eviscerates a bad guy, pulls said bad guy's small intestine out, and then uses that small intestine as a rope to swing down to the level below? Everything about this movie is so over the top that you just gotta throw your hands up in the air and just enjoy the ride.

Just when you think you've seen it all, this film busts out some of the most awesome, over-the-top violent bits I have ever seen. Absolutely loved it!! Machete Kills cannot come out fast enough!! . . . And then I washed my hands!

^^Thanks!! Glad to see that the SDF-1 doesn't "look" significantly shorter than the 1/48. Yes, I realize they're at different scales and all. But I was definitely hoping that the 1/3000 would still look taller or equal in height to the 1/48s. Here's hoping they go forward with making a TV version.

Could one of you fine gentlemen who have acquired this please post a comparison pic of this beast in Attacker mode next to a 1/48 VF-1 in battroid mode? Moggy's curious to see how these two look next to one another.
-
Hopefully, this is a good sign and will give Yamato more incentive to make a genuine TV-style Macross. <fingers crossed> Also, are there any comparison pics out there now of this DYRL Macross next to a 1/48 VF-1?

Thanks for the thorough review, complete with pics and vids no less!! As our own "thank you," do you want us to send you some stong sedatives or a few tranqulizers to shut the yappers on those dogs? Definitely love how solid the figure and transformation look. Hopefully, this does well enough to warrant a genuine TV-style release!

What are you hoping to get for Christmas (or a holiday gift)?
Mog replied to ultimateone's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'll keep it small scale. I just want a nice nap and some honest to goodness relaxation. No running around to multiple family or friend's parties. No having to stress out over some stupid tasks or unnecessary projects. Just give me one whole day to be selfish. And let me stay at home and chill. Let ME do whatever I want or feel needs to be taken care of for the whole day. And let me get to do those things without interruptions. . . . On second thought, how about world peace instead? It'll be easier to accomplish than my above request! -
Can't believe it's taken me this many years to make the connection. But I just realized that the hair on the Comic Pack Mara Jade looks very similar to Misa's cinnamon-bun hairstyle. Also, will I lose my Macross World street cred' for admitting that I'm absolutely digging this head chest shin-kicking figure?:

What do you think is the most innovative VF design?
Mog replied to Xx-SKULL-ONE-xX's topic in Movies and TV Series
Surprised no one touched upon this yet concerning the YF-21. But I find it pretty "innovative" that they were able to take the best features of the VF-1 Valkyrie and the Q-Rau and blend them together to come up with a beautiful, separately distinct design. Seriously, someone looked at the big, burly form of the Q-Rau (with its spindly legs, the cannons on its arms, and those huge hulking backpack thrusters) and figured out a way to get that general battroid form to fit into the sleek, "skinny-bitch" fighter profile of the YF-21. That perfect mixing human and Zent design traditions? THAT'S what I consider innovative. -
Ya know, that "VF-**" Graham was referring to could also be the VF-0D. In all likelihood, it probably is the -17. But you never know.
-
I realize we may have to go through the whole "expensive, larger-scale exclusive to make the smaller 1/3000 version" thing again. But I'd rather have a 100% accurate TV version. I've always been a bigger fan of the TV-style SDF-1 (Big nostalgia factor bonus there). So, I'd rather wait for a proper TV-style SDF-1 to mount the Daedalus and Prometheus to. Besides, I'm a patient man; I can wait (and save money) until someone does the TV version right.

1/48+fp's, 1/60, And 1/72 Picture Gallery Pt 4
Mog replied to VF-18S Hornet's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Considering how Dallas and Houston are doing this season though, he doesn't have to live in fear. And as much as it pains me to say this, there's that whole six to five thing. -
I should have known Matt and Trey would do something like that. Unlike most comic books though, at least they stayed consistent with past episodes and didn't try to pull off some way-out-there, crazy retcon. Also, I absolutely love Mysterion's pissed-fueled, angry rants. After experiencing all those incidents over the years, I think the character deserved his moment to bitch, moan, and complain about his life.

Years from now, my daughter is either gonna say, "Dad, that is freakin' AWESOME!!" Or more likely, "Seriously, Dad? You made me dress up as THAT? "
-
I thought the first part of Coon and Friends was a little meh (loved the continuity though with the Killer Whale and Tom Cruise still lying on the moon). But they definitely made up for it with the second part. Somehow, having be Mysterion just seems to make sense. PULL THE DAMN TRIGGER, YOU P*SSY!!
