Stop mixing your Macross World memes!! Speaking of memes, how the hell did I come up with this religious dissertation on Yoshinol? http://www.macrosswo...ndpost&p=693696

^^Don't forget, Rex also had a little cameo in this current arc, when he hesitantly disclosed to Mace and Yoda that Anakin wasn't around to guard the Chancellor. Since they seem to have been assigned guard duty, I'm sure the 501st is getting a good-old fashioned mind-frakking from Mr. Palpy. As for these last three episodes, it's been a pretty solid effort so far; let's see how they finish off this current arc.

TV-style SDF-1 please! I miss the old girl, gawdy colors and all.

Very nice! Looking at the battroid pics, I now see why you painted the front canards yellow. I agree with the rest of the guys: the pink just doesn't mesh with the rest of the color scheme. Thanks, though, for all the WIP pics; it has been a fun project to follow!

English translations of the new Eureka AO manga are online now: http://mangastream.c...n_ao/71451535/1 Damn, looks like I'm intrigued enough to get sucked into another story.

Hell Yeah! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVDGETKbzuc&feature=related They also have enough good, rare B-sides to make another album out of:

Not too shabby of an ep. Palpatine is frickin' brilliant in his brief scenes, such the master manipulator. Liked seeing Anakin teetering on the edge of the Dark Side when walking into the bar. And got a chuckle over what the Bith ship dealer did.

Careful, George still has about a week to screw around with this and make some unnecessary changes (like making one of the dogs howl "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!")

^^Don't forget, Graham, even with an improved connection, the tailfins on the Legioss are still gonna stick out a bit in combined fighter mode, and the yellow array on the Tread will still stick up and not sit down flush. After doing a little searching, it looks like it was a different person. Credit, though, goes to our resident Tread-Head, wwwmwww, for originally posting this many moons ago (Link). More pics from original site. Remember, this was a scratch-build made prior to the Toynami Beta being released (maybe even before the CMs version was announced). Looking at it now, it's surprisingly "boxier" than the Toynami in bomber mode. And the chest looks a just a smidge smaller than the two toy versions. But considering it's a scratch-build, it's still pretty damn impressive. And if the Tread/Beta ever came with a big maama-jamma Gatling gun like that, I'd cry tears of joy!

Yeah. . . .that's pretty freakin' awesome. Is this the same dude that did a transformable Red Tread a few years back? Just a general comment about all these Legioss/Alpha toys: the Legioss really needs ratchet joints at the shoulders though. You rarely see it posed with its arms extended straight out, parallel to the ground.

^^Very true. BUT the Alpha can look both ways before crossing the street (something the CMs Legioss wasn't designed to do) :

^^Yes back on topic. Or the Alpha-Beta team will have to launch an Itano Circus barrage o' missiles:

Very awesome work!! It's always very cool to see someone pull off a non-VF-1 custom. Regarding the stripe on the leg, how about using just a black "UN SPACY" sticker/decal instead? It would be a nice and logical detail to add, would break up the all-white look, and would be a little less obvious than a black stripe. In any case, great work!!

Not saying they don't have their flaws (especially given the razor-thin tolerances inherent in their design). But sometimes those angry chimps do just enough to make those Toynami's look good: Granted, this is like saying a broken watch always tells the correct time twice a day. But if you luck out on the Alpha Russian roulette, get one that has minimal flaws, and are willing to take the time to pose it, the Toynami Alpha can still make one hell of a display piece.

Kinda rolled my eyes at the beginning of the ep, but I'm intrigued enough to see how this all pans out. Once again, Obi goes to prison!

It really all depends on what your preferences and priorities are. Are you looking for something to play with often or more of a display piece? Which mode will you usually keep the Alpha/Legioss in? Are you gonna pose it by itself, or will you be displaying it with its Beta/Tread buddy? If a sweet-looking Alpha-Beta combo is the most important thing to you, then you'll probably want to go with the Toynami version. If you want a Alpha/Legioss that you can pose without worrying about floppy joints, then you should go with the CMs. If you want an Alpha that's a little more "boxy"-looking but can mesh well with your Macross Valks, then go with the Toynami. If you prefer an Alpha/Legioss that's more stylized in its look, then go with the CMs. Again, it all depends on your personal preferences. Me? I'm very big on the Alpha-Beta combo. So despite a few flaws here and there on my own Alphas, I tend to still prefer the Toynami ones. Out of the five I own, only one has the upward tilting nose issue (and thankfully, neither of the blue ones has that issue). I also would have preferred ratchet joints in certain areas of the Alpha. But nothing beats the awesome look of Toynami's Alpha-Beta fighter combo.

No Beagle Blow Superior... that blows superior...
Mog replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks for the update to the new pics. Sucks that the Beagle line was never completed. How many years has it been since that prototype was first revealed?. . . . Almost 3 years now?! -
^^from the above link: "legendary Billy Gunn" Of all the names to end with, they finish up with him. Wow. . . just wow. <snicker>

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Mog replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Thanks for all the pics, Graham. Really digging the matte black finish of the final product. And the head doesn't look so fiveheaded anymore with all the markings on it. But DAMN!! Those cloudy Yamato stickers rear their ugly head again! Don't know if this is the case with the ones that came with the 1/60 Version 2's, but it seems that Yamato's stickers have been consistently hazey and cloudy throughout the years. I'm looking at the stock stickers on my Toynami Betas, and they still look beautiful, crisp, and clear, even against the dark blue background areas. If a company like Toynami can improve the quality of their stickers, why can't Yamato step up their game in this area? -
I absolutely despised the first movie. About the only thing they got right was the Baroness' ass. But as a fan of the old Marvel comics GI Joe run, let me count the ways this new trailer has me intrigued: No accelerator suits; Cobra Commander sporting his classic chrome faceplate look (and not that weird breathmask or glass facemask thingie); Less science fiction-y elements, less techie weapons, and more good old fashioned BULLETS (ain't nothing wrong with science fiction, just not in a more military,action-based series like GI Joe); More ninja action; The new production crew took the only interesting plot point from the first movie (Zartan disguised as the President) and went full bore with it (Cobra flags draping the White House ); and Better nods/homages for the old-school fans (Roadblock--and NOT Heavy Duty--rocking the Ma Deuce, Jinx fighting with a blindfold on). It looks like the NEW production crew has a better understanding of what endears GI Joe to us old fans. Really, that's all you want from a movie adaptation: that the people behind the camera show enough love and respect to the original source material. Granted, the movie may still suck ass. But at least, this trailer seems a lot more promising.
