  1. After watching all of these recent episodes, I have two observations/suggestions for the producers of this show: 1) Drop the whole Bruce Wayne/Alfred story arcs NOW. These are easily the most annoying aspects of the show. I get that Bruce is beginning to develop those traits that will make him into Batman down the road. But seriously, they need to quit hammering this aspect in every single freakin' episode! Do we really need to see Gordon visiting Wayne Manor during each crime he's investigating or get a "meanwhile at Wayne Manor" token scene? Plus, shoving Bruce and Alfred down our throats each episode just reminds us of Smallville and the unending cock-tease that we'll never see Batman until the very end. At the very least, minimize these scenes to a rate of one bit scene every 5 to 6 episodes? 2) Keep focusing on the organized crime aspects. All the backstabbing, plotting, and larger than life characters in these story arcs are easily the most enjoyable parts of the series so far. Admittedly, I think they're moving too fast with the Penguin storyline. Him moving himself up to a "restaurant manager," was NOT a smart move, especially since his rep as a cop informant is eventually gonna come out. Regarless of their enemies, I have a feeling most of the crime bosses won't look too kindly to that reputation. The show has some potential, but they really need to tone down all the Bruce-centric stuff. We've seen the Batman origin done far too many times already and done much better than the one presented in this version.
  2. I liked the callback to from The Winter Soldier. Also, I really hope there's a deleted/extended scene where Coulson Although there were obvious extenuating circumstances, that was a noticeable slip by Coulson. I hope they come back to that dangling thread later on this season. Despite the damage he suffered, why do I have the feeling that Fitz's brain was right on the money on his assessment of both situations he analyzed this week? Lastly in regards to next week, it looks like we get to see a Lady Jaye (who almost became an Amazonian Princess) become a Mockingbird.
  3. ^^Heh-heh. . . . . "Bay" Star : (Auto-correct can be such an annoyance)
  4. The Kill Map doesn't include Next of Kin? (where Liam Neeson plays the revenge-seeking, Kentucky hillbilly, older brother of Patrick Swayze) Yes, Liam Neeson portrayed a Kentucky hillbilly. Yes, his supporting character is supposed to be Swayze's older brother. Yes, his character goes to Chicago to seek retribution after the murder of his and Swayze's younger brother. Yes, I'm ashamed that I know this useless bit of trivia.
  5. Is the director's last name really MEGATON!! Almost thought it said "MEGATRON" there for a second.
  6. Yup, was another good ep this week. Really, liked the minor bits of comedy thrown in too like: They had a nice mix of forward movement on the immediate story, the longer arc developments, and the character moments. And next week's teaser is
  7. I didn't find the pilot that bad. Of course, it helped that I was watching the sucker through the DVR. My biggest concern is with the overall viability of the series. If Gordon cleans up Gotham too well, why the hell would Batman ever come about. But put too many set-backs in Gordon's way, and the show gets pretty depressing. The best things going for the series right now are the organized crime side of things and possibly Detective Bullock. So, we'll see what happens. Lastly, as a parent of toddlers/preschoolers who is forced to watch a bunch of kids shows, it's kind of a trip to see one of the guys from the Fresh Beat Band in this show. If the rumors are true and he turns out to be , I'll never be able to watch the Fresh Beat Band without getting my brain twisted into a ton of knots.
  8. * That was definitely a nut-punch when they revealed * At first, I thought Coulson * And when will Ward tell Skye that he ate someone's liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti?
  9. Not sure if this has been posted yet. But I finally found my personal favorite rendition of this song: The semi-acoustic versions out there are so much better than the album version.
  10. 1/3000 scale . . . . TV-Style SDF-1 MACROSS (with the Prometheus and Daedalus attached).
  11. So, when are we gonna see a available online and at the nearest toystores?!! Sucks that Hasbro/Disney didn't anticipate making something like this.
  12. Just got back from watching it. Best way to describe the film: Stupid Fun !! Half the time I'm just staring at the screen in disbelief. . . but in a good way. There's a nice balance of cheese, snark, and coolness throughout. That first off-Earth scene really sets the tone for the rest of the film. Kudos to Marvel for pulling this one off. . . . . . . And I SO want Awesome Mix, Vol. 1 and 2! Lotta fun scenes I could reference, but I absolutely loved the "No Raccoons or Tree Creatures were harmed in the making of this film." tag at the end of the credits!
  13. Though, I never understood why the Stealth Valk would be sporting honkin' loud, yellow-tipped nukes.
  14. Just one, huh? I guess I'll go with the bastard on the right, pulling off an Immelmann turn:
  15. I seriously doubt that last part above. That beech color is probably just some veneer Ikea slaps on as a finishing touch. There can't be that much of a price difference between putting a black/brown veneer on the Detolf versus putting the beech colored one. Regardless, I'm still pissed off about Ikea's decision. But if I ever decide to expand the displays, I'll give Duymon's mix-and-match look a try.
  16. ^^I've been checking the Ikea-US website since probably early February. Bastards haven't once offered the beech effect Detolf at all. The wifey wanted a Detolf for her collectible stuff, but she wanted one that matched mine. I originally got the beech Detolf since it matched the color of my desk and the other furniture here in the office/nursery. Needless to say, Ikea's decision on this still pisses me off.
  17. Just got back from watching the film. It was pretty solid and enjoyable. There's things you can definitely nitpick, but I liked it enough. A few spoilery observations: Unfortunately, it's at the absolute bloody end of the credits. For the curious, most comic-book fans can figure out who's in the after-credit scenes. But here's a hint (and something you might miss if you're not paying attention): it involves. . . Lastly, I've always considered X2 to be the best of the X-Men films. That awesome opening scene, Wolvie truly cutting loose at the X-mansion (first time in any film where they showed Wolverine to be a hard-ass killer), all the little "burning bird" references. It's easily one of the rare films where the sequel exceeds in all ways the original film. I liked First Class, but I still consider X2 to be the better film.
  18. The (almost all) Good: The Bad: And the Family:
  19. More like: I also liked: "Look at me. I'm dressed like I live under a bridge!" And for some silly reason: "Stupid, stupid, stupid!! And very cruel! And very STUPID!!" If there's one word to describe this season finale, it was FUN. Between the silly banter, it was just a fun ep. Silly theory: The next time we see Ward, if he still has that facial scar running down his cheek, he's a bad guy. If it's gone? Good guy again. Long-shot gamble: Between all the talk of evolution that Raina mentions in this episode and the "miracles" that will be showing up in Age of Ultron (around the time Agents of Shield is winding up Season 2), I'm guessing Skye ain't a Kree or Kree hybrid, but rather a MUTANT (or the Marvel-verse's equivalent of mutants/"miracles"/"those born with special powers").
  20. Getting back to the show, one thing that hasn't been mentioned yet: that was some cold-blooded, gangsta-type sh*t Fitz pulled off
  21. I know it's got its flaws, but I'm still quite happy with the Big Burly Beta. Yeah, the hips easily slide outward. Yes, it's a bit gappy in solo bomber mode. And I would have loved for them to have added the pop-out shoulder missiles. But it's got ratchet joints galore. It's got a decent A-stance in battloid mode. And it's a fun piece to pose. If we're talking about a wider, splayed out A-stance in gerwalk mode, I could understand the benefit of having twisting knee joints. But as is, it's got a decent enough amount of articulation to get some fun poses out of it. And. . . . dogs are far superior to cats.
