Same here. I only own the black rubber-tipped ones. Kinda sucks that they just don't revert to those original tips. If it wasn't for the issues with the clear ones, I'd recommend these stands to people in a heartbeat. As long as the stand doesn't tip over, you can practically pull off any pose you can imagine.

Well, considering how much we fawn and drool over our Valks. . . . . . The trickiest part with the cutting method would be getting a nice rounded tip to work with.
-
Knowing me, I'd probably waste half a day rubbing down the erasers, just to get a wider surface area for the valks to make contact with.

"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of nerds suddenly cried out in shock and were suddenly confused." So, with Disney purchasing the Star Wars franchise, does this mean I can finally walk into a Disney store and actually find Star Wars figures hanging on the shelves for once? Back to potential stories and ideas, I wouldn't mind something (films or TV series) set around the Knights of the Old Republic era. Some interesting characters; no Rule of Two to limit the red-bladed bad guys; a compelling and interesting take on the Mandalorians; a Jedi Knight/trainee who's not exactly the cream of the crop; and a Jedi who's tactics, strategies and ideas straddle the line between the Light and Dark sides. A good writer could have a field day working with those premises.

If only Kathleen Kennedy had been around when the script for AOTC was being kicked about. Maybe if there was a woman around, we could have been spared some of that atrocious "romance" dialogue (aka what George thinks passes for good romantic dialogue). As for the Mouse acquiring Lucasfilm. I'm neither happy nor sad about it. Pretty much meh or ambivalent about it. Maybe now there will be someone or some higher ups that can override George's opinion and straight-up say, "No George. That's a stupid idea." But then again, this is the Evil Mouse we're talking about. The ones who constantly up the prices to Disneyland, despite the rest of the country being in a recession. The ones who damned us with High School Musical. And the ones who sink their grubby hooks into our kids with their Disney channel programming and product placement. So like other have already said, this can either be a good thing or a bad thing.

Should we be expecting a full set of 1/48 (or 1/55) scale standing and riding figures (similar to your infamous Macross sets)? Or is it something bigger? . . . . Just what or who can it be? Sorry, spelling error there. It should have been: "Houquet, it be?"

Ted definitely had its moments (The. . . .umm. . . ."ending" to the check-out stand flirting was definitely one of them). But I'd have to go with 21 Jump Street for best comedy so far in 2012. Messing with the stereotypes. Unexpected cameos. "F*CK YOU, SCIENCE!!" . . . . .Of course, Prometheus probably trumps all with its comedic leaps of logic.

I'm not sure if it's a lack of the original creators' involvement. But as I hinted in that massive essay post above, the series lacks a lot of cohesion and flow when taken as a whole. For a 24-episode series, there's just too many plots cooking on the proverbial stove. By the time the original E7 was heading towards its final episodes, we had pretty much gotten answers to all the "big picture questions" presented throughout the series. With E7: AO, it's like we still have a ton of big picture questions left that need to be addressed. I got a feeling that at least one of the remaining episodes will be almost entirely exposition/explanation. . . . which wouldn't necessarily be bad, if done correctly. At least, Adult Swim started re-airing the original series again! Since I no longer have my old DVR hard drive, I get a chance to record some of those memorable episodes again.
-
So, let me get this straight. . . . . . . and we gotta wait until December ("late Autumn") to see the final two episodes?!! What incompetent broadcasting idiot do I have to smack around for this dumb decision? Yeah, yeah, Olympics pre-empted them for a couple of weeks, but still. Really?! They can't just run with the show for two more weeks? A few other comments:

With three more eps left for this series, here's two impressions I've been left with so far (sorry for the extreme length): Of course, I reserve the right to change these opinions if these last few eps knock our socks off. But I'm not certain that will happen now.

I have the old rubber-tipped ones, and I absolutely love them. You definitely don't want to overtighten the screws on the base, or you risk stripping the screw thread (and getting a floppy prong that can't hold anything). Sucks that the issues with with the clear tips were never resolved. I'd probably buy a few more if they went back to the rubber tips. I've been staying away from the new ones after seeing all the issues posted on the forum. And folks, you do realize that all the prongs don't have to be the same length, right? Mix and match those prong lengths to make some ridonkulous poses!!
-
That was pretty cool, but it would have been even more awesome if they used the original door opening sound.
-
Then I'll give Amiami the credit for busting out the dynamic poses and angles to better sell the 17D.

The Wolverine FILMS (X-Men Universe)
Mog replied to antibiotictab's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, if they went with two claws, they'd have to introduce X-23 somehow in this film. And it's way, way, WAY too early to start that. -
If I do wind up buying this, I'm probably gonna do some minor custom touches. Probably paint the head to look more like a cap or cut down the number of stripes. Gotta admit: I'm glad that they're going with more stylized poses and camera angles now.

SH*T JUST GOT REAL!!!! Lastly, I wonder why the last few teaser previews are lacking any sort of narration?

I understand the appeal of the muted colors and more alien look of the DYRL SDF-1. But it's not the Macross I grew up with. Understand, I've slowed down significantly with my collecting. I'm not buying as much stuff as I used to. (Though, I'm seriously considering getting the VF-17D.) But assuming the price is reasonable, I will absolutely, positively without question move hell and high water to get a TV-style, Prometheus and Daedelus sporting, SDF-1 Macross! Garish colors and all! No other Macross item on my want list is higher.
-
I'd kill for one episode. . . .
-
So, the series is called Macross. It's about this big, hunking alien ship that lands in the Pacific. The humans study it and repair it. Make a crapload of technology based on and in response to it. It has this infamous maneuver called the Daedalus Attack that was used umpteen billion times in the series. . . . . . .And yet we haven't had an official toy update of the iconic mothership in over 25 years.
-
Yeah, I enjoy the How It Should Have Ended series too!
-
Wow! Absolutely stunning work!

TV. Style. SDF-1. Is it too much to ask for an updated version of the grand-daddy namesake that started this whole damn franchise off?
