As we wait for the next episode to be released, here's something to tide us over. Someone decided to mix the OPs for the two series up. Kinda trippy how the visuals kinda still mesh even with the different songs.

The extra episode was considered Episode 51 of the original series and was originally aired on April 5, 2012. Here's the summary info I pulled from Wikipedia. HOWEVER, no source reference was provided for the information below. Take everything below with a grain of salt: Episode 51, "New Order" "A special episode that shows never before seen footage of the events that happen from episode 48 and shows the ending of the series. The concept for this special was a possible real ending the staff of Eureka seveN thought up, and the script for this special was first performed in 2006 at a Sony Music Festival by the original Japanese voice actors. In March of 2012, Studio BONES decided to put existing footage of the TV series to this audio and air it for the first time on television. Episode 51's alternate ending entails that Eureka must go on a journey to scatter seven pieces of her soul across the land in order to calm it. In the end, Eureka and Renton must part ways, but Renton vows that they will meet again someday, no matter what. Episode 51 has absolutely no relation to Eureka seveN's sequel known as, 'Eureka seveN: Astral Ocean' as this was a real ending that was not used for the original TV run of the series, and Astral Ocean continues from the events that happened in Episode 50: Wish Upon a Star."

Yeah, it's pretty much a hodge-podge of clips strung together with some new dialogue added in. The question is whether the new dialogue takes place sometime during the original events of E7, or if it's taking place some time well after the series has ended. I've watched it twice (had to watch it again after the events from Episode 13). And still not sure how key the dialogue will be to the story in E7:AO.

I gave her the nickname of "Five-Head." For me, the first series really didn't hook me in until Episode 9 (when they first visit the Ciudades del Cielo). And then of course, Episode 20 finally made the series a must-see, can't-miss one.

To explain how the hell we got to talking about Nemesis: * Ghost Train mentioned that Bane's accent sounded like a bad Sean Connery impersonation. * I thought Bane's voice sounded more like a Patrick Stewart impersonation (with its light conversational and British tone). * Bane is portrayed by Tom Hardy. . . * Who also portrayed Shinzon in Nemesis. * Shinzon is Captain Picard's Reman/human (whatever the frak he was) clone reject made by the Romulans. * And Captain Picard was portrayed by none other than. . . . * PATRICK STEWART! Yeah, don't here too much of a Scotsman in Bane's accent. Maybe Tom Hardy was trying to tap into his inner Patrick Stewart? . . . . .And just like that, I've been reminded of that annoying piece of crap called Star Trek: Nemesis. <Mog walks towards a corner, muttering to himself>

I absolutely love Batman Begins. All the cues from Year One made me giddy like a schoolgirl, especially the SWAT and bats scene. But I gotta admit that the water-evaporating microwave weapon from it was just a slight bit hokey. Regarding Rises ending:

Assuming it is Renton, the bigger question is whether he'll actually talk in this series, or will he give us the "Adrock Thurston Special" (appear and not say a damn word)? I'm hoping for the former.

After rewatching both OPs, I really don't see the homage. Other than sharing the same artist, I don't see too many similarities between the two. Sure, they both have that "quick-chop of scenes that coincide with the music," but that's about it. If anything, bits of the second E7:AO OP remind me of 80's anime OPs (especially, all the characters' faces being shown in side profile).

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims. I'd rather focus my energies on them and their families than waste time on that a**hole. He got caught alive, and society will deal with and punish him accordingly. To add my comments on the film, just got back from watching it and enjoyed the experience. A review on KROQ said it pretty well: it may not be the greatest film around, but it's still seriously good. Other comments:

It's whatever the hell Eureka's hair color is. If you put a gun to my head, I'd probably say it's turquoise.

Gotta admit, I was stunned when the mid-episode break popped up. Lotta stuff was crammed into that first half. Regarding the plot developments: Yeah, I don't know what to think anymore. I kinda understand A1's point: I miss all the gaffes and the low-budget look of the movie. (Maybe bust out more animation errors or fourth-wall breaking moments to compensate?) And if they keep using the "Who's interrupting my [insert phrase here]?!" bit, the gag is gonna get old real quick. As much as I like Boondocks, I don't want Boondocks-lite set in the 1970s. HOWEVER, any cartoon that adds the phrase "Whorphanage" to the lexicon is alright by me!

Surprised that they haven't made a General Pong Krell figure yet. Even as a battlepack.

Just hold off on reading the spoilers for now. The payoff will be worth it. Plus, you'll have less of a wait for Episode 14.
