Make that an X-Wing, instead of the Landspeeder. And maybe, MAYBE you can justify the price.

So, I finished up The Defenders the weekend it came out. After taking some time to think about it, here's my impressions for the overall series: the first 6 episodes are pretty good and fun. But despite being only 8 episodes long, the last two episodes kinda fall off the rails, leaving a really, REALLY bad impression at the end. One thing that kinda stunk was that the fights in the last two episodes were pretty meh with nothing too memorable about them. After re-watching the Nobu-Daredevil fight from Season 1, I think I know the reason for this "meh-ness": the heroes aren't in any serious risk during these fights. The fights in the last two episodes (with one notable exception) also just seem to be very "by the numbers," or the characters are just going through the motions. Other fight-related gripes: Other complaints: Lastly, the actual episodes may have not used Nirvana's "Come as You Are." But if you listen careful enough during the start of Episode 7, you can hear the guitar riff from "Where Did You Sleep Last Night," a song that Nirvana did a cover of.

Anyone catch the shortened Season 3 on Netflix yet? Looks like they're going the with Lotor. Lotta questions and backstory that they built up in this season too.

Just went through the first five eps of the Defenders. Didn't like the opening credits at first (felt like Avengers-lite), but it's been growing on me. Gotta love that: And Episode 3: Also, having Sigourney Weaver as

As much as I love the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, it still looks a little weird with Matty in full costume, while the other three are in plain clothes. Still looking forward to this, even if the threat of more Hand (the most meh chunk of DD Season 2) is imminent.

The story so far has got some depth. I'm glad they took the time to explain ol' Vlad's motivation for letting loose the dogs of war (and not just lean on the trope that DRACULA EVIL!!!!111). Also,

Hey jenius, can you have them confirm whether either of those Legiosses or Alphas have ratchet joints, especially in the shoulder and hip areas?

Anyone catch this on Netflix yet? It's loosely based on the Castlevania III NES video game. The characters got some nice depth and backstory to each of them, and the series upped the gore factor by about 1000 percent (Considering Dracula raises an army from the bowels of hell, those demons do some pretty graphic killings). The only con is that this first "season" is ridiculously short (clocking in at only 4 episodes long). But it's a really good series that I'm intrigued to see more of.

Replace "money" with well-articulated, 3 3/4" figures for me.

Alien: Covenant (formerly known as Prometheus 2)
Mog replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Is it bad that I'm more curious about the I think a film that explored either of those ideas would've been more interesting/compelling.- 352 replies

The other thing that hasn't been mentioned about Voyager and Enterprise is that Paramount probably leaned heavily on them to prop up their fledgling UPN network. All that extra scrutiny from the network probably doesn't help to encourage taking creative risks. Of course, Rick Berman wasn't known for being a risk taker, so the point's kinda moot. And most of the creative genius responsible for the TNG, DS9 good stuff had left the franchise by then.

You can also use your existing flightpose stands by mixing rod lengths. For most battroid poses, you'll need at least one or two 2-inch rods and maybe one 6-inch one.

Alien: Covenant (formerly known as Prometheus 2)

Assuming the plot synopsis I read is correct, is it accurate for me to assume Also, does Got burned by Prometheus, so a little apprehensive about going out to watch Covenant.- 352 replies

Personally, by the time Enterprise rolled around, I was already having Star Trek fatigue. It didn't help that Voyager pissed away it's awesome premise (which BSG showed how to do properly). I also disliked how they just ended Voyager with them coming home. I wanted to see the aftermath. How did the Voyager crew react to all the changes (war, etc.) that happened since they left? How would the former Marquis crew react to the changes? How would the loved ones react to them finally being back? Instead, we get the further watering down of the Borg, Voyager getting 1989-Batmobile armor, and more time travel. So by the time Enterprise started, I wasn't willing to be patient. When Berman and company started spouting off about how the Xindi stories would be a new-fangled arc, I rolled my eyes and thought, "DS9 already did long-term arcs." I know Manny Coto helped to make Season 4 interesting, but by then, Star Trek was no longer "must watch" for me. And that series finale for Enterprise was the ultimate slap in the face. Kill a beloved character for no valid reason, and add something totally unnecessary that skunks the memory of a damn good TNG episode (Pegasus). Honestly, after so many movies and literally HUNDREDS of episodes, it's hard for someone to come up with an "original" story for Star Trek.

One of the most distinctive and unique-sounding voices of the grunge era. Gonna miss that soulful howl.

The price for the Toynami Alpha and Beta COMBINED didn't even come close to this price! That's some serious hubris to be asking a price like that, especially with all the underwhelming pics revealed so far.

Part of the reason 3rd Party Transformers are more successful is twofold: * There's umpteen versions of the numerous Transformers out there (Don't like the version that's too beholden to the cartoon? There's one that leans more to the G1 toy. Want something more like the IDW comic book version? There's a 3P toy for that!) * There's a ton of gaping holes that Hasbro/Takara has never bothered to fill with official releases (Dinobots, combiners, Jazz, Hound, etc.) You really don't have those kind of opportunities with Macross. If a manufacturer gives us a TV Hikaru with a 1S head and a maroon stripe (rather than bright red), we'll scream bloody hell murder. Other than SD's/joke machines, there's not much opportunity for variations. As for untapped/"ignored" figures, the TV SDF-1, enemy mechs, and one Destroid type are really the only items that haven't been mass produced in a larger, non-Hi-Metal R scale. If I was a third party manufacturer, I wouldn't consider Macross a highly lucrative market. <shrugs>

Bo Katan's back, huh? Should be interesting. Also, I wonder how many years/months elapse between Season 3 and 4, because Saw aged pretty badly there. Personally, I'd like to see Rex meet up with Cody. Or better yet, can we finally get the story of why Rex removed the chip in his head or what he was doing during Order 66?

Every time I see the phrase "The Last Jedi," my silly brain thinks "The Last Dragon." Kylo Ben: "When I posit the question, 'Who is the master?' You, Rey, shall respond, 'SHO NOKE!!!'" Nice looking trailer (and I'm always a sucker for the Force theme), but let's wait and see if this film can deliver.

No side profile shot in fighter mode. No pic in Armo-Soldier mode to show how strong the shoulder joints are (supporting the gun, arm fully extended at the elbow) or showing if the hips can hold a solid A stance. Can the head even turn? Way to make your product stand out from the rest.

Yeah, for a good chunk of us, it was just right place at the right time with the right circumstances. Most of my Macross collection was acquired at a time when I was already into my career but still single. (Marriage and kids have a way of cutting into a man's toys/"collectibles" budget! ) I was lucky enough to catch the tail end of Valk Exchange's hey-day, getting the majority of my Macross collection from Kevin. Afterwards, I got my 1/48 M&M's and YF-21's(?) from Los (from Lost and Found Toys, now flight pose, . . . back when they sold toys in addition to the stands). And I'd be remiss, if I didn't give a shout-out to Robokochan for setting up a pre-order for the Stealth Valk and FP set oh so many years ago. Kevin's old site is what originally brought me to these forums, and I wouldn't have known about the other two folks had it not been for our MW Forums here.

^^Imperial Officer incompetence doesn't bug me as much, as it seems to be a trend (Admiral Ozzel from Empire Strikes Back). Besides, Konstantine has demonstrated his idiocy on a few memorable occasions. So, his disobeying Thrawn (trying to grab some glory and stick it to the non-human Grand Admiral) doesnt surprise me much. Considering they wiped out a good chunk of those two Rebel squadrons; destroyed a bunch of their ships, fighters, and resources; and , we can't really say Thrawn's plan completely failed.

Hopefully, that prequel focuses on Holland, Charles, Ray, and the rest of the SOF prior to Eureka's massive turning point (discovering the three kids in that "pile"). It'd be interesting to see their lives prior to Gekkostate's formation.
