  1. Just saw it. I can understand why critics are lambasting the movie. But if you're a fan of the comics, know a little bit about each of the featured X-Men, and know about Apocalypse, you'll probably appreciate it more than most. It's an Apocalypse story, so you kinda know the major story beats already: Apocy wakes up, gathers his Four Horseman, let's loose all hell, and then the X-Men and/or X-Factor try to stop him. I will say the final version of Apocalypse we see (and hear) on the big screen is much more improved than the one we initially saw in the trailer. Overall, I enjoyed the film Things I didn't like though: As for your question A7: Lastly, thank you for the meta-joke:
  2. So maybe not exactly a remake, but c'mon, Russian Avengers or Russian X-Men: http://www.theverge.com/2016/4/15/11439314/zaschitniki-guardians-russian-marvel-superhero-movie MACHINE GUN-WIELDING RUSSIAN BEAR!!!1111!!!!!!
  3. ^^And I thought Spidey had the monopoly on bat-shite, crazy comic book ideas! Dumb move by Marvel comics.
  4. Lastly, Coulson you magnificent nerd!!!!
  5. ^^Didn't help that this last season ended kinda meh. Still, I'm surprised they didn't pick up Marvel's Most Wanted for next season. Need something to fill that mid-season gap. One SHIELD-Civil War observation:
  6. Team Stark has some very solid and practical arguments to support their side (Heck, Team Stark's position in the MCU is infinitely stronger than their position in the original comic book mini-series). BUT HOWEVER,
  7. Yes! Regarding related spoilers, don't watch this week's Agents of SHIELD episode, if you haven't watched Civil War. There's a reference to the above spoiler and what happened to Cap at the end of the movie.
  8. Just got back from watching it. It's good. * The Russo brothers absolutely nailed ALL the character beats. * The story does a great job of tying back to loose threads from the other numerous Marvel films. * They did a ridiculously great job introducing Black Panther and Spider-Man. So much so, that I'm really looking forward to the Black Panther solo movie (and of course, the next Spidey one). * Some may say that there's too much humor in the film, but it worked for me. * I have a feeling this film was a subtle middle finger to the massive destruction in Man of Steel. * And although the bar was set pretty low, for reasons that will become very clear after you watch the film, Zemo easily shoots up to Number 2 on the list of Best and Most Compelling Villains in all of the MCU films* Spoiler time! * If you throw in the entire MCU, then Fisk and Killgrave are easily up there along with Loki.
  9. I still rank Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (the uncut version) as one of the best, if not THE Best, animated Batman film of all time.

That is how you sell the battroid mode! They really need to reward the person who posed out that SV-262!

I kinda wish they had found a way to incorporate a FAST or Strike backpack instead. Awful lot of empty space there behind the head/shoulders and between the wings in battroid mode.

That gerwalk is absolutely boss! I don't know what it is about the battroid, but I kinda wish the chest was just a smidge bigger. Factoring in the large shoulder pauldrons and the elongated legs, the smallish chest just looks a bit disproportionate. I'm also not really feeling the drones, other than in fighter mode. But DAMN! Dat Gerwalk!!
  13. Isn't that just the pilot for all the non-canon color-schemes? In any case, here's my 1/48 crew: It's a small group, but still good.
  14. Anyone else catch the MCU Movie Easter egg Coulson was holding in his office?
  15. . . . So, you have a lot of them, but do you LIKE them?
  16. I'd guess the death of the ALPS printers had something to do with that. I was scavenging like crazy to find/make stickers for my last custom back in 2008. Can't imagine the situation has improved in the ensuing years. The 1/48's have their flaws (the arms that hang too low in fighter mode, the nuke missiles that would fall if you sneezed at them wrong, no TV-style Roy ). But they are solid display pieces that have an "oomph" about them. I know the 1/60 v2's have more poseability and are in scale with the other Macross series birds. But I just never had the desire to ever pick one up. <shrugs>
  17. So, are we allowed to riot if they make the Tachikomas the wrong shade of blue?
  18. Well played, Agents of SHIELD. It doesn't look like it's gonna be tied to Civil War, but they absolutely kicked up my excitement for the remaining episodes of this season. Gonna be another crazy ride to the season finale. I'm curious though, These are important questions that need to be addressed!
  19. Considering how much Tom Hardy has bulked up over the years, I just can't picture him as a young Picard anymore. How about James McAvoy instead? It's too bad the series went off the air so long ago, but I wouldn't mind one of these anthology seasons being a follow-up to DS9. A number of books came out that gave an interesting skeleton/treatment of a potential Season 8. Introduced some new characters, put some old ones in new roles, and had the Defiant exploring the Gamma Quadrant. Could be a season's worth of story fodder there.
  20. True, it was Tarkin's move. But it wasn't like Vader disagreed with the move. Besides, it's a great tactic by Papa V.! He gets rid of the bad influences, filling his daughter's head with such silly drivel as Republics, democracy, and such. And he has plausible deniability. He can just tell Leia: "Hey! It wasn't my idea to blow up Alderaan. That was all Tarkin. Maybe if you had told the truth earlier . . ."
