If we're talking just Macross, we already have a thread for that: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35835&hl=. Expanding the question to my whole collections, it's still these two custom bastards (because of the extra effort and detail put into them): . . . . But I'd be lying if I didn't say this big burly back-up "booster" wasn't up there too: Just realize that the blue Beta and blue Alpha are the only two mechas that I actually doubled up on. I had to display one set in combined fighter mode and another set in their separate battloid modes.

Never really cared much for the Inquisitor's spinning lightsaber feature. Personally, I think Ezra's hybrid blaster/saber is a much more practical feature. For my money though, I love the design of Pong Krell's dual-bladed sabers (https://www.google.com/search?q=pong+krell+lightsaber&rlz=1I7GGLL_en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=RCIBVdi8CIiNNoCEg4gN&ved=0CB4QsAQ&biw=1280&bih=695). Makes sense for a four-armed alien to sport that many sabers. And it folds in half for compact and convenient storage too.

It wasn't too shabby of a season finale. Now, could someone please tell me what the @#%^ happened to Captain Rex?!! Lastly, "Well, we know he's not gonna use it."

Out of my limited collection? I was gonna say either the 1/60 VF-1A Max Version 1 (the non-perfect transforming die-cast legs and meh Gerwalk mode), the Millia Q-Rau (need a flexi stand to make the piece truly "pop" on display), or the YF-19 (too many mods needed to fix/correct the original release). . . . . Then I remembered that I own a bunch of Toynami Masterpiece valks.

HOLY CRAP! And who'd a thunk Fitz would become the best at reading everyone, especially after the injury?

Hate to admit it, but I was a little underwhelmed by the season finale. The episode had its moments. But a few things just didn't click as well as they should have. For starters, the Soviet hypnotist guy became a one-trick pony. When he pulled the same damn crap on Stark, that was like the 5th or 6th time we saw the exact same technique used in this very short, 8-episode run. Yeah, it makes sense from a story standpoint. But it was definitely a letdown, especially after The other issue I had was that they just talked about the Battle of Finow and just mentioned the reason why those early season assassins all lost their voiceboxes. It probably would have served the story a whole hell of a lot better if they just showed the "battle" itself as a flashback. Either show the actual carnage or show the after-effects/end results. During the whole flashback bit, you could show one of those assassins suffocating and needing the emergency tracheotomy. Looking at the series overall, it does show a lot of promise and potential. Really, the way they scheduled Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter to air during each other's breaks definitely works to each show's advantage. And I wouldn't mind seeing ABC/Disney do a similar thing next season as well.

I've been kinda neutral towards the series overall (it has its pluses and woeful minuses). But last week's episode was pretty damn fun and energetic. The whole Red Hood storyline was a fun romp and not some dreary/depressing investigation. The Penguin and Butch bits showed some promise and interesting backstory. Even though the rough-hewn British and hard Scottish Brogue accents were a little hard to follow at times, the Alfred storyline was good enough to move the plot logically along. And Fish showed some massive, MASSIVE stones in that office/lab. The only thing that dragged the episode down was that whole "Let's just slap these characters together since they all have nothing better to do" feel of the Barbara, Cat, and Ivy scene. But at least, we got a nice burn line out of it.

I can't be the only idiot that started singing "THERE'S. . . . NOTHING WRONG. . . WITH ME . . . . LOVING YOU!!!!!" the first time they heard that Ed Sheeran song:

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
Mog replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
^^1. I've never really heard ScarJo sing (barely recall the karaoke scenes in Lost in Translation). 2. Cruise is way too damn old to play Hik'. ScarJo playing the Major? Considering a lot of her recent film roles, I can see why she'd be considered for the part.- 751 replies

Last night's episode was serviceable/average. Kinda wished Carter had gone full-blown confession a little earlier. . . . especially about the vial. And geez, Agent Thompson already warned you: Also, although it was a little predictable, All in all, not a bad mini-series so far. And in two weeks, we finally get to see what's "shaking" with Agents of SHIELD. Kudos to ABC and Marvel for lining up and timing this season much, much better.

^^Baby oil, perhaps? Considering how the stakes were upped in this week's episode, I'm impressed they were able to mix in some amusing bits of humor, such as: Showing Howard Stark to be an equal opportunity womanizer (poor Jarvis); and Angie's crying bit (loved the WTF? reactions of the boys). Also, I had a sneaking suspicion about

Bandai Gobots/Machine Robo Series Toy Thread
Mog replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
^^Based on how the back transformation seems to be for vehicle mode, it doesn't make sense why they didn't try to make the top of the SR-71 smoother. Yeah, I get that there's some hinges there. But if they wanted to add some details to the top of the plane mode, why not mimc the real SR-71 and add some straight-lined grooves between the twin engines? -
Understandable. When I first joined the boards years ago, I had heard of and seen pictures of the legendary Flexidisplay stands in action, but no was producing them at the time. (Supposedly, they even had a circular base version before too.) So, I figured my chance to own some had already passed. Thankfully, Los picked up the license and started selling them a couple years later. I just hope they find a way to resolve that whole paint-stripping issue with the newer versions.

I'm still a big proponent of mixing and matching the rod lengths. It really opens up your posing options:

^^Give the man a no-prize for the correct guess. Last week's Agent Carter episode was probably the best one of the series so far. Howling Commandos Characters showing some smarts (Jarvis avoiding his tell, Sousa using his investigation/observation skills). And

Bandai Gobots/Machine Robo Series Toy Thread

Thanks for the additional pic! I didn't know who that one robot above Space-C was supposed to be. So, if that SR-71 is "blocky," then what the heck should we call Hasbro's movie Jet-Fire or FP's Not-Silverbolt? That would be Fitor (reference). I just don't remember him looking that badass and sporting a sword. -
One of the best pre-fight speeches of all time: ----------- And why has no one posted the TV-Macross Max vs. Milia dogfight yet (Macross NOT Robotech version)?

Finally got a chance to comment on the hour-long special (and finally got to see the epilogue). I didn't get it the first time I watched the ep, but it suddenly hit me as I was going over the episode in my head: Headshot (the OSI sniper) actually shot It seems like everyone "failed up" during this episode. And since we're talking about failure, shouldn't the manual overrides for the ray-shields be one on top of the other (instead of side by side)? I mean if one of those mutated interns were using all of their arms to activate the manual override, wouldn't it more sense for the holes to be configured as "four holes in a square formation"? And yes. . . I gave that scene way too much thought.

^^Which one though? Volume 1 or Volume 2? Volume 1 just had the kewl factor going for it and lacked any meaningful or substantial plots. Volume 2 actually had some pretty solid, interconnected stories and some damn memorable moments. I really didn't get into the CGI CW series until much later. But it seems like every Clone-centric episode or arc is awesome. And despite my initial misgivings about bringing the character back, Darth Maul's appearance was actually done fairly well. As for Rebels, it's one of those "I'll watch it if there's nothing else on" shows, but I'm not actively seeking it out or DVR'ing it yet. The series just hasn't had one of those signature, jaw-dropping moments yet.

A few other items of not mentioned above: * Phantom Limb, Professor Impossible, and Baron Underbheit have started their own rougue villian group separate from the Guild. * The girl that everyone thought was Dermott's hot older sister is actually Dermott's real mom. * Hank has been showing competence at the super-spy game, surviving the fake tests Sphinx/OSI threw at him and holding his own against an island of mutated human/animal hybrids. * Rusty's old female bodyguard (that most of us thought was Hank and Dean's biological mom) is NOT their mother. * When Dean revealed to Hank that they are clones, Hank really didn't care and thought it was kinda cool. * While in the custody of OSI, Monstroso was killed by the Investors. * It was never confirmed who triggered the bomb that killed Henchman #24.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year MWers!
Mog replied to Dangard Ace's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Astro Plan? And here I thought the "naughty" folks would get their favorite Macross scenes hacked by 80's era Anime Friend. Merry Christmas, gentlemen (and ladies)!! -
Considering she's usually sporting the FAST or Strike Packs, I tend to forget how beautiful this bird looks without any extraneous bits. . . especially the multi-shaded backplate/top of the fighter mode.

Looks like the past season and a half has also been It was a cool moment to see, but I have a feeling it will always be a bittersweet memory for you-know-who. A few other things I enjoyed from this midseason finale: * Glad that they're showing that Hunter isn't some lovesick schlub and is up to snuff with this spy/observation stuff. * Liked it that Ward pointed out how Skye was scoping out the Hydra location: noting the exits, guards, weapons, etc. Added an extra layer to what could have been a throwaway scene and showed how much Skye has grown as an agent. * "Never turn your back on an enemy. . ."
