Yep, the red lighting also gave the Walker a menacing "look" to it.- 1438 replies

Just got back from watching the movie. It was a solid film with some fun banter and bits, but it felt a little heavy-handed with the antagonist stuff. They probably should have called the film "Miles & Shelby" instead. Still, it was an absolute treat to watch the GT40 and the Ferrari roaring in action. I probably did spoil a lot of the movie for myself by watching the more detailed documentary, "The 24 Hour War" a few weeks ago. But I enjoyed Ford V Ferrari nonetheless. P.S.--They should have stuck with the 60's rock soundtrack for the TV trailers, instead of using "Feel It Still."

Kinda wish that the blue on the bike and armor was just a shade or two lighter, but I'll live with it.

It's been awhile, but I don't recall a chicken walker being present in the original Kurosawa Seven Samurai.- 1438 replies

Do you mean the Fleet of Doom Robeast combiner? Because I could get behind that. No clue where I'd put it, but I'd find a way. In any case, Moggy settled on a display pose for the Voltrons:

It’s not too difficult to repaint the helmet to get rid of the HUD lines: It’s probably better to spray paint the Tamiya clears than brush paint ‘em (as above). But it can be done. It’s a bit of a PITA to brush paint, but still doable.

Nope, it’s Baba Yaga. Is it bad that I wanna see the little kiddo rocking a Mando helmet and armor eventually?- 1438 replies

Just one minor addition to the Communications Module: its white tower has a tiny fin on each side that can be folded out.

OG Vehicle Voltron: "Nice sword kid; mind if I SMACK you with it? Rule No. 1 of Combo-Mecha Throwdowns: Don't pick a fight with THREE Voltrons, especially when they all already formed Blazing Sword.

So, I finally got my copy of Dairugger/Vehicle Voltron. For those of you that had the original 80's big boy, SOC VV will look and feel so much tinier. I felt like I needed petite fingers to pop open the landing gears, towers, and some of the transformation parts. And one of the front flaps on my copy's waist/hips likes to pop off. But I do appreciate all the additional details Bandai added, such as missile silos, working treads on three of the bigger Dairugger vehicles, and retractable landing gears for the Air Team. But despite being so much smaller, SOC VV (much like Golion) has got some serious heft to it. SOC VV feels much heavier than the original big 80's toy. As soon as I got it into fully combined mode, I had to put it through its paces: Ohhh. . . . PUNCH! PUNCH! (Almost) SCRUNCH! Oh so close, but the elbows just can't rotate beyond 90 degrees to complete that memorable post-combination pose-set. Also tried the following: Yup, the sword is pretty freakin' huge: It's so large that it actually scales alright with the original VV toy: Took awhile, but nice to have both Volties to display now:

Yamato shrank the backpack in battroid by having almost half of the fuselage collapse into/slide over itself. To make the backpack shrink more would require more panel origami. (Some sort of three panel/section folding?)

You mean George needed someone to tell him that having Anakin touch Padme’s bare back in AOTC was a horrible, creepy idea?

Is it just me, or does Mando’s armor look more reddish than the rusty brown we saw from the preview pics? I have spoken.- 1438 replies

If you look through my last few posts on this thread, I have no issue with the clones coming in to rescue the Jedi. It’s all the “strategy” and lack of clear explanations/goals after that point that I take umbrage with. Again, they succeeded in saving the Jedi. If that’s their only objective, get the hell out and cover the escape route. If the goal instead becomes getting Dooku after the initial rescue, then commit all your resources to that objective. Why make it seem like “fight the droids” is your main objective, but “capture Dooku” becomes your side quest? It’s like the plan is to kill all the pawns (the droids), instead of capturing the king.

For a series that has so little dialogue, the stories sometimes pack a wallop and the action is straight-up bonkers.
