  1. Do you mean the Fleet of Doom Robeast combiner? Because I could get behind that. No clue where I'd put it, but I'd find a way. In any case, Moggy settled on a display pose for the Voltrons:
  2. It’s not too difficult to repaint the helmet to get rid of the HUD lines: It’s probably better to spray paint the Tamiya clears than brush paint ‘em (as above). But it can be done. It’s a bit of a PITA to brush paint, but still doable.
  3. Nope, it’s Baba Yaga. Is it bad that I wanna see the little kiddo rocking a Mando helmet and armor eventually?
  4. Just one minor addition to the Communications Module: its white tower has a tiny fin on each side that can be folded out.
  5. Please tell me Peter Cetera and/or Chicago are getting royalties for “Lost in the Woods.”
  6. OG Vehicle Voltron: "Nice sword kid; mind if I SMACK you with it? Rule No. 1 of Combo-Mecha Throwdowns: Don't pick a fight with THREE Voltrons, especially when they all already formed Blazing Sword.
  7. So, I finally got my copy of Dairugger/Vehicle Voltron. For those of you that had the original 80's big boy, SOC VV will look and feel so much tinier. I felt like I needed petite fingers to pop open the landing gears, towers, and some of the transformation parts. And one of the front flaps on my copy's waist/hips likes to pop off. But I do appreciate all the additional details Bandai added, such as missile silos, working treads on three of the bigger Dairugger vehicles, and retractable landing gears for the Air Team. But despite being so much smaller, SOC VV (much like Golion) has got some serious heft to it. SOC VV feels much heavier than the original big 80's toy. As soon as I got it into fully combined mode, I had to put it through its paces: Ohhh. . . . PUNCH! PUNCH! (Almost) SCRUNCH! Oh so close, but the elbows just can't rotate beyond 90 degrees to complete that memorable post-combination pose-set. Also tried the following: Yup, the sword is pretty freakin' huge: It's so large that it actually scales alright with the original VV toy: Took awhile, but nice to have both Volties to display now:
  8. Yamato shrank the backpack in battroid by having almost half of the fuselage collapse into/slide over itself. To make the backpack shrink more would require more panel origami. (Some sort of three panel/section folding?)
  9. OG-BSG Apollo traded in his Viper for an X-Wing.
  10. An oldie, but too damn good not to repost:
  11. Is it just me, or does Mando’s armor look more reddish than the rusty brown we saw from the preview pics? I have spoken.
  12. If you look through my last few posts on this thread, I have no issue with the clones coming in to rescue the Jedi. It’s all the “strategy” and lack of clear explanations/goals after that point that I take umbrage with. Again, they succeeded in saving the Jedi. If that’s their only objective, get the hell out and cover the escape route. If the goal instead becomes getting Dooku after the initial rescue, then commit all your resources to that objective. Why make it seem like “fight the droids” is your main objective, but “capture Dooku” becomes your side quest? It’s like the plan is to kill all the pawns (the droids), instead of capturing the king.
  13. For a series that has so little dialogue, the stories sometimes pack a wallop and the action is straight-up bonkers.
  14. Finally, FINALLY, got a "shipped" notice from NY.
  15. Also, here's the thing with the ROTJ space battle: there's clear stakes and objectives. Blow up the Death Star; Survive long enough for Han and his team to lower the shield; Engage the Star Destroyers, possibly making it harder for the Death Star's death beam to destroy your ships. Keep the TIE's from pestering/attacking your capital ships. Even with Sith's big opening space battle, same thing: clear objectives and stakes. Defend Coruscant from attack; and Rescue the Chancellor from Grievous. Other than to show the Clones "attacking," what was the point of the clones versus the droids on Geonosis in AOTC? I could write a whole manifesto on everything else wrong with AOTC. But I'd still rank it above TLJ. EDIT: Regarding those EW covers, where the the hell is Yoda and Dooku?
  16. Yes, but sometimes the episode order is mixed all to hell.
  17. Actually, when I first watched AOTC in theaters, I already felt the Clones vs. Droids battle was overdone and meh. Storywise: Didn’t make much sense. If the Clones were there to rescue/assist the trapped Jedi, they already accomplished that mission. I figure rescue them, get the hell out of there. If the next objective was to capture Dooku, 1) Lucas should have better spelled it out. 2) You have some tired Jedi that have already gone through a bit of a fight, and you want them to lead the next battle charge? And 3) Why you wasting all your resources fighting the droids? Go all-out for the boss. Add in Padme’s fall from the carrier and next minute she’s fine and jauntily running across the screen. Toss in that Ani and Obi (who have been through two major consecutive fights by this time and got CAUGHT earlier by Dooku’s crew) are the only Jedi to go after Dooku. And only Yoda (not an entire posse of the best Jedi fighters on the Council) backs them up. And the whole “let’s have the Clones fight the droids” bits become kinda pointless. It’s only shown for the spectacle of it all; there’s not much else storywise or plot-wise. It’s just there for the sake of being there.
  18. Yup, same here. I only caught bits and pieces when it first ran, but it’s been kinda fun to watch that series again and share it with my kiddos. Tons of Star Trek TNG actors doing the voices there too. Tripped me out that all the animated X-Men series and Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends are also on +, as well.
  19. Nah, the Sith decided to go full Ego from MCU and “seed” the galaxy with midi-chlorians. So, what’s the plural of Yoda’s species? Yodi? Yodai? Yodes? Yo-Yo’s?
