Anyone watch this twisted little Choose Your Own Adventure tome? Didn't work with Apple TV, but was able to watch it on a smartphone. The story/(ies) are a fun little mind-frak to go through. But I should have remembered I was watching Black Mirror:

Sentinel had a similar picture on their Twitter feed. But this OP-inspired pic is only half done: Just waiting now for a fullly colored prototype of Yellow.

Personally, I think Seasons 5-7 were the absolute, stand-out best of the entire series. Unfortunately, Season 8 didn't completely stick the landing. I found the mecha fight scenes kinda meh, repetitive, and suffering from Michael Bay's "let's film this way too close and make you completely loss about the flow of the battle" style. I get why the focus was on the six paladins, but it felt a bit much once I would have liked to have gotten more on Axca's motivations and the deal with her and Keith. It probably would have helped if they used a different animation style/technique to differentiate the "normal" scenes, from the scenes in Honerva's mind (Probably make the scenes seem like they're filmed underwater?), and from the flashback scenes (black and white instead?). It would have been a subtle way to make the story easier to follow. I found at the end a bit sudden. HOWEVER, Season 8 did do a bang-up job on the character side of things. The Allura-Lance relationship was nicely paid off. It was easy to relate to Honerva's motivations (even though she was going about it in a completely crazy way). I like that Keith and Lance have grown from a rivalry to brothers who are okay busting each other's chops. I liked the moments with the Most of the character endings made sense. Although I wasn't completely sold on the ending resolution at first, the more I thought about it, the more I'm cool with it. And lastly, you know I squeed at all the Vehicle Voltron teases.

I find it ironic that Asgardians, Thor and Valkyrie, are tracking down aliens on Earth.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures (YT Series)
Mog replied to spacemanoeuvres's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Best way to get kids interested in Star Wars? IV, V, II, III, VI. -
This sucks. I suspect Season 2 of Punisher will be solid (with Castle and Russo gunnin' after each other). But part of Season 1's charm was the banter between Micro and Castle, and I can only think of seriously messed up ways to bring Micro back into the fold (which I'd rather they not do). Not sure I'm feeling the need for another season of Jessica. Sure, we got the Hellcat angle to develop. But I read the synopses for Season 2 and never found any motivation to finish up that season. Honestly, I don't think either of them can ever top this past season of DD. So with the Netflix series closing shop and Agents of SHIELD on hiatus until after Avengers IV, is there really any excuse why these heroes (or their villains) can't show up on the big screen now?!

The ending "fight" scenes may be a little intense for the kiddo. But the last scene after the credits is definitely for the grown-ups (more so than for the kids).

Just got back from watching the film with the family. Was really worried that they showed all the good jokes in the trailers, but that's definitely not the case. Lots of meta-jokes for the grown ups in the audience, . . . . and you'll never look at Zangief the same way ever again. Lastly, am I the only dad that got kicked in the feels and wanted to say to their daughter: P.S.--Stay to the very end for Frozen 2!!!!!!

Taking another look at the above pic (assuming it's an accurate portrayal of the eventual toy), I'm guessing there's gonna be a bunch of new parts to mold. About the only things that they can possibly carry over from the Mospeada types are the following: Crotch armor; Hip guards; Wheels and related assemblies; Windshield/upper back armor; Thigh armors; Lower arms and hands; and Upper arm guards. Practically everything else will be new or modified parts. If they decide to make Houquet more petite than the boys, then at the very least, those last three parts above have to be modded too. In other words, I'd be very surprised if we see a Bartley prototype before the end of the year. For me personally, I do hope they mod the Houquet figure to have a more feminine V shape going from the hips to the feet.

Thoughts after watching Season 2? It's not as action packed as the shortened first season. Although it develops the newly introduced characters alright, there's just a ton of backstory to get through in the front end of the season. Also, the banter between the main three protagonists can be a bit much at times (if this were an anime series proper, I feel like they would have gone full-bore and chibi-fied the characters during these scenes). And although I understand the ending, some could view it as being a little bit emo. But when those action scenes hit, this series absolutely shines! Loved the team work that was on display during these moments. And they did a good job of fleshing out the characters of Dracula and Isaac quite well, making you ALMOST sympathize with them. Although it has some flaws and meh parts, I'd still give Season 2 a recommendation.

It's too bad they can't go back and re-do Snake Eye's origin to be more like his comic book origin. Some elements of it can be over-the-top, but I can see it translating really well cinematically.

Regarding Daredevil Season 3, I went on a tear and finished it last Friday night/Saturday morning. Yeah. . . they knocked this one out of the park. As someone steeped in Daredevil's mythology and a kid who read the Born Again comics when they first came out, this past season just checked a ton of boxes for me. There are elements from other Daredevil stories too, and they were all beautifully weaved together. Yes, you can find some story threads that may feel like tropes to some folks. And there are some filming/storytelling techniques that may rub some people the wrong way. But they absolutely nailed every single character, making you care about their backstories and respective situations. Both the old characters and the new ones are very well developed. There are so many things I'd like to comment on, but there's one thing I have to make note of: After being in God-mode during Defenders, I absolutely LOVE that Matt's back to having knock-down, dragged-out fights, taking damage and trying to give it back tenfold. If this is how the Marvel-Netflix pocket of the MCU ends, they ended it on a high note.

^^Bottom line: content is ultimately gonna become king (if it hasn't already). If Netflix doesn't have the shows, programs, or movies I want to watch, I'll stop watching it (or stop utilizing a friend's/relative's account ). CBS' streaming service only has Star Trek Discovery. Youtube's only noteworthy series so far (for me) has been Cobra Kai. And with that upcoming Clone Wars bookend story and possibly these Marvel-Netflix series moving to Disney's streaming service, I may need to consider nabbing it too. So, I kinda, sorta understand the moves from a business standpoint. But from a creative standpoint. . . . . . this really SUCKS! Both Season 2's for Luke Cage and Iron Fist were MASSIVE improvements over their respective first seasons. They both ended their season 2's in such a way that you WANTED to see how they'd follow it up with their next seasons. For those that haven't watched 'em yet, imagine if Ron Moore's BSG was cancelled right after that Season 2 time-skip. You'd see the Cylons jumping to New Caprica, the Bucket and the Beast totally unprepared for it, and the Admiral making the painful decision to jump away. You'd see so many potential story angles coming out of this situation. . . and then boom! Series cancelled. That's how these announcements, cancelling Cage and Fist, feel like.

I wonder if they can still re-configure the shows to become Daughters of the Dragon and Heroes for Hire? As I mentioned in some of the spoiler posts above, I was intrigued enough to see how they'd move forward with Fist's Season 3. Bummer.

Are you talking about the season finale or the last ep with the blizzard maker and the assassination attempt? Because if it’s the latter, ask Brock to say “spaghetti.” Honestly, we haven’t really had a full-on “Brock MDK’s a poor fool” moment this entire season.

Yeah, pretty much. Season 1 had a lot of Hand nonsense, corporate boardroom shenanigans, and too much chi talk. In Season 2, Episode 1, they do a quick summary of the key events from Season 1 and Defenders that catches you up before starting into Season 2 proper. The main things you may NOT get from the summary are that: Colleen Wing used to be a Hand disciple, but changed sides. Ward started off hating Danny, while Joy seemed more open to him. But by the end of Season 1, they both switched (Ward being open to Danny and Joy plotting revenge against Danny). Misty Knight met Danny and Colleen during Defenders. Misty lost her arm, protecting Colleen during Defenders. Danny's company gave Misty a new arm during Luke Cage Season 2. Honestly, I maybe only watched the first and last episode of Season 1 in their entirety and just skimmed a few other eps. You're probably better off just going straight into Season 2.

Couldn't let Matt Murdock get all the comic book suit fun. Let the beatdowns ensue! Oct.19th So, Born Again adaptation? Typhoid Mary making an obvious appearance? Bullseye? Considering how Cage and Fist both ended their last seasons, I'm curious if DD will surprise us with its Season 3 ending.

I can accept Luke becoming a salty curmudgeon in his old age. I can almost get behind Luke being reluctant to train another Jedi. And I can almost understand Luke having a temporary moment of weakness and seriously consider killing his nephew. BUT I don't, won't, and can't support a Luke who doesn't run off to save his friends and family at the first sign of trouble. It doesn't jive with the Luke we saw in A New Hope, in Empire Strikes Back, nor in Return of the Jedi. That guy never hesitated to save others. And no matter how dire the situation, he can always fall back to "I once saved my father, who was the most evil bastard in all of the galaxy. This ain't squat!"

So, I barrelled through Iron Fist Season 2 last weekend (10 episodes). Starts off a little slow at the beginning, but DEFINITELY MUCH better than the first season. We still have to deal with the Meachum siblings, but they toned down the corporate scheming a bunch. After some initial misgivings, the Meachum sibs turned out be much more consistent and interesting characters the second time around. For those of you who have watched Season 2: Other random thoughts:

So, HELPeR, Mark II’s voice sounded oddly familiar. Turns out it’s Coran from Netflix Voltron. But yeah, this has been a fun season so far. Wonder what the next big reveal will be.
