  1. Well, Voltie’s about to bust out the solar combat spears or whatever the heck they’re called. I’m a bit of a lightweight when it comes to whiskeys, but I tried this Cali Sipping Whiskey that’s pretty good. Not a strong, kick you in the face whiskey. But literally one that you sip over ice, just to enjoy and chill.
  2. Is it bad that I saw IPA, and my first thought was, “That’s a strong Indian Pale Ale!” Sucks what happened to your figure though.
  3. That’s a very clean looking back on VV/Dairugger XV! Along with the pics that Kuma Style posted in the SOC thread, this is looking purty. My only minuscule nit is that I wish the forearms could be positioned facing towards the sides, instead of always facing front. (Look at the blue forearm in my post above to see what I mean.). Just looks a little weird, but I suspect it was a design compromise. And they’re giving us different fixed pose hands probably to compensate. And I agree about the bumpers. I thought they would fold down for stability purposes in combined mode. But I don’t get why they’re so elongated.
  4. At least the issue for Episode I leaked out the opening crawl. But yeah, heavy on the hype, but light on addressing the fan backlash. What little is discussed in the article still does not motivate me to watch this.
  5. Alright, when should I get the whiskey and coffee ready for pre-order night? That’s a ton of articulation they’re showing off. Hopefully, those joints will be strong as stink. They’ve come a long way from 35 years ago: EDIT: So, about US$350 at the current exchange rates. Hopefully, it comes with a full complement of weapons.
  6. We could argue about Luke (and Obi and Yoda) til the cows come home. But I think we can both agree that making Picard the head of Section 31 would be a much bigger and colossal betrayal of a character we’ve observed over the years.
  7. I’m actually making a comparison between Luke and Picard, specifically their recent or planned treatments given what we already know. But I have to disagree on your take about Luke. As I’ve said numerous times, Luke’s always been the guy to leap up whenever people (especially his friends) are in trouble, consequences be damned. He did it when he realized Owen and Beru were in danger, he did it when he rescued Leia, he did it when he jumped into an X-Wing to take on a Death Star, he did it when he flew off to Bespin despite Yoda’s warnings, he did it when he didn’t wallow in self-pity and came up with plans to rescue Han from Jabba, and he did it when he volunteered for the Endor strike team without thinking it through. Yes, other Jedi Masters failed royally. But Yoda and Obi played the long game after their respective failures. What was Luke’s excuse for hiding away? Yeah, Luke screwed up during his moment of weakness with Kylo. But how was it any worse than ignoring Yoda and Obi’s warnings, getting his ass handed to him, and finding out Mr. Embodiment of Dark Side Evil is your daddy? Again, I don’t mind Luke failing, but I disagree with how they ignored all of his previous, well-established character traits. Which seems to be exactly what’s happening here, with Picard running Section 31. It absolutely flies in the face of everything we know about the man.
  8. For those that have watched John Wick 3: 2 Dogs = 1 Wolf Or would you prefer: Duke: " You ain't got no problem, soldier. I'm on the mutha-effa'. Go back in there, chill them Cobras out, and wait for the Wolf who should be coming directly."
  9. Disney: We took a character in Luke Skywalker and made him do things that are completely opposite of and contrary to what he's demonstrated multiple times in the past. CBS: Hold my beer.
  10. I'll admit that I came in late and only followed the show through reviews and synopses until recently. I'm okay with the ending.
  11. Yup, I've had them doing that for YEARS; figure M&M are the only two who could pull something like that off.
  12. Purchased and set up another Detolf: Ready for those summer purchases now! And to paraphrase John Wick 3, "I'd say the odds are about even" :
  13. Nope. Too old to play Terry, and can’t picture him talking smack to wannabe Jokers.
  14. I thought (once the preorders actually went live online) that Yellow was scheduled to be an August release. Golion/Voltron re-release in late July/early August, then Yellow about a month later. The initial, non-color prototype pics probably first said around June. But when I put in my preorder, they were already saying August, no?
  15. Audaciously, over-the-top entertaining. Still think the first one is the best. If the first one was a video game on easy mode with all the cheats on, this one is on normal mode with the infinite life hack on. The action scenes are bonkers fun (nice to see that crazy dude from The Raid movies in a Hollywood blockbuster). But this flick is definitely “turn-off-your-brain-and-just-enjoy-it” territory. Seriously,
  16. Yup, and Rebels did a bang-up job of bringing in Thrawn and the core essence of his character. Canon or not, there's a ton of good characters, themes, ideas, and plots to mine from the Old Republic video games and comics. I know some of the plots could be viewed as re-hashes. But c'mon, who doesn't love a witty, blood-thirsty protocol/assassin droid or a cantankerous old grey Force wielder who occasionally throws out awesome nuggets of wisdom?
  17. At this point, I'm half-expecting AoS to pull off the "multiverse" explanation. Really hate that all these business decisions cut off the Marvel TV and Netflix series from their MCU counterparts. I'll always look back fondly at how beautifully AoS and the Winter Soldier weaved and interconnected with one another. Really kicked SHIELD to another level and gave a real sense that the TV series and MCU were truly interconnected.
  18. So, if they’re only good at adapting other people’s works (and not creating their own story), wouldn’t that be a good thing for an Old Republic trilogy? Both Revan’s and Carrick’s stories are pretty fleshed out already, so . . .
  19. ^^Not a model. Just a customized 3.75"-scale action figure. Got the customizing itch again while I'm waiting for some summer release items. I posted more pics and a parts write-up on the Rebelscum Forums: Linky It's tough being an Old Republic fan, when Hasbro hasn't supported it as much as other Star Wars sub-lines.
  20. Does it qualify as a toy purchase, if I made it my own damn self?
  21. Uh-oh, Moggy's got the customizing itch again.
