The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau

Is it just me, or does Mando’s armor look more reddish than the rusty brown we saw from the preview pics? I have spoken.- 1438 replies

If you look through my last few posts on this thread, I have no issue with the clones coming in to rescue the Jedi. It’s all the “strategy” and lack of clear explanations/goals after that point that I take umbrage with. Again, they succeeded in saving the Jedi. If that’s their only objective, get the hell out and cover the escape route. If the goal instead becomes getting Dooku after the initial rescue, then commit all your resources to that objective. Why make it seem like “fight the droids” is your main objective, but “capture Dooku” becomes your side quest? It’s like the plan is to kill all the pawns (the droids), instead of capturing the king.

For a series that has so little dialogue, the stories sometimes pack a wallop and the action is straight-up bonkers.

Also, here's the thing with the ROTJ space battle: there's clear stakes and objectives. Blow up the Death Star; Survive long enough for Han and his team to lower the shield; Engage the Star Destroyers, possibly making it harder for the Death Star's death beam to destroy your ships. Keep the TIE's from pestering/attacking your capital ships. Even with Sith's big opening space battle, same thing: clear objectives and stakes. Defend Coruscant from attack; and Rescue the Chancellor from Grievous. Other than to show the Clones "attacking," what was the point of the clones versus the droids on Geonosis in AOTC? I could write a whole manifesto on everything else wrong with AOTC. But I'd still rank it above TLJ. EDIT: Regarding those EW covers, where the the hell is Yoda and Dooku?

Yes, but sometimes the episode order is mixed all to hell. -
Actually, when I first watched AOTC in theaters, I already felt the Clones vs. Droids battle was overdone and meh. Storywise: Didn’t make much sense. If the Clones were there to rescue/assist the trapped Jedi, they already accomplished that mission. I figure rescue them, get the hell out of there. If the next objective was to capture Dooku, 1) Lucas should have better spelled it out. 2) You have some tired Jedi that have already gone through a bit of a fight, and you want them to lead the next battle charge? And 3) Why you wasting all your resources fighting the droids? Go all-out for the boss. Add in Padme’s fall from the carrier and next minute she’s fine and jauntily running across the screen. Toss in that Ani and Obi (who have been through two major consecutive fights by this time and got CAUGHT earlier by Dooku’s crew) are the only Jedi to go after Dooku. And only Yoda (not an entire posse of the best Jedi fighters on the Council) backs them up. And the whole “let’s have the Clones fight the droids” bits become kinda pointless. It’s only shown for the spectacle of it all; there’s not much else storywise or plot-wise. It’s just there for the sake of being there.

Yup, same here. I only caught bits and pieces when it first ran, but it’s been kinda fun to watch that series again and share it with my kiddos. Tons of Star Trek TNG actors doing the voices there too. Tripped me out that all the animated X-Men series and Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends are also on +, as well. -

Nah, the Sith decided to go full Ego from MCU and “seed” the galaxy with midi-chlorians. So, what’s the plural of Yoda’s species? Yodi? Yodai? Yodes? Yo-Yo’s?- 1438 replies

Will I lose my Pinoy card, if I say that I enjoyed the “Making of Float” feature more than I did the actual short? -
Well, ranking the prequels from worst to best, it should be: AOTC, TPM, then ROTS. I cut TPM only a little slack for having to live up to 20+ years of hype/build up. But AOTC screwed the pooch with the Ani-Padme romance, showed minimal camaraderie and fun between Obi and Ani, and made the Clones vs. droids battles a dull CGI-fest (with stupid, unnecessary quick zooms).

If our speculating is correct and those recessed tabs in the forearms double up as connection points for the Tread, I’ll be curious to see how Sentinel pulls off the Tread’s chest and cockpit. It looks like this Legioss will sit deeper into the Tread. Factor in that there isn’t much of a sizeable gap between the Legioss arms, and Sentinel’s gonna need to pull off some design magic to get the Tread’s chest and cockpit area(s) to work right.

As I mentioned previously. Plus, it looks like the hip joints or the red centerpiece rotates to move the hip joints closer to the chest intakes. All in all, the whole leg and foot assembly compresses a lot tighter than the Toynami version.

My main concerns are that the shoulders and hip joints are strong enough to hold poses and that fighter mode locks securely in place. In terms of design though, you can see how they’ve made a bunch of advances: * Feet are massively collapsed in fighter mode, so they’re no longer sticking way out. * Cockpit and nosecone redesigned, so that the nosecone isn’t hanging so low in armo-soldier mode. * Added double jointed elbows. * Gave wings a downward cant. Understand, I’m a fan of the Toynami Alpha-Beta combo’s look. But even I know those Alphas are prone to breaking every which way and can’t hold certain poses to save their lives. Sentinel’s got some goodwill built up for the quality Ride Armors they’ve made. So, I’m willing to see if they can pull off this Legioss.

I once saw the Mandalorian kill two men with a hypo-pencil, a freakin’ hypo-pencil! Regarding Baby Yoda, I can just imagine OG Yoda’s ghost saying, “Much had I drank. Intoxicated I was. When 800 years you’ve been, get a little frisky and backed up you will too!!”- 1438 replies

Yes, let’s make this thing so big, that it won’t be financially feasible to ever make a connecting Tread for it. If this puppy can hold a pose and sport more articulation in Armo-Soldier and if the fighter mode locks together solidly, it’ll be worth it.

Just watched the most recent episode of Mr. Robot. Good gravy!! The ep starts off a bit over dramatic. But by the end of it, it delivers a vicious gut-punch. The clues have been there, scattered and sprinkled throughout the past three seasons, but . . . damn. Kinda flips everything on its head and makes me rethink all the assumptions about the story.
