Since Hasegawa is releasing the 1/72 VF-25 kit next year, does that mean that Bandai doesn't have exclusive rights to Macross Frontier anymore? Does that mean we'll get to see a Yamato 1/60 vf-25 soon and is that the reason why there have been no further Renewal announcements from Bandai? Sounds a little exciting.

My order from Hobby Search just arrived today. I didn't get a preorder but got it last week when they had a small window open for additional stock.

I thought I was the only one having this problem. Both my yf-21 and vf-22s miria have the same floppy left wing problem.

Are you guys assuming that there'll be no additional units for sale after the initial pre-order run or what? I never bought the previous vf-25(s) so I don't know how their production run is.

I've been diligently waiting for the HLJ sale to open and I had to miss it coz of an afternoon nap. I hate my slothful ways.

HLJ has been a bit slower compared to the other sites so I'm guessing it'll take a while before they release those unpaid preorders.

How about a vf-19 in vf-x 2 scheme? I think they did release one in 1/72 but a 1/60 would be better. A VF-0D would be nice too. We need more blue mechas!

Based on the sketches, can I assume that a part of the backplate (thrusters etc) actually slides to the front when it changes from fighter to gerwalk?

Come on, dude. Make it transform! I know you can do it if you wanted to. I'm sure all of us would like to see a cg yf-21 transformation and I'm sure you can pull it off based on your previous work.

Very nice. Any plans to include a bit of ambient light? I know it's not accurate but I personally think a very low intensity ambient light will give it a bit of depth. Looking forward to the full clip!

Yes, it is Optical Flares. Very useful to jazz things up. I'm looking forward to your animation since your demoreel looks impressive, and I envy you for having such a long break.

I didn't actually want to upload this yet but I might never complete it so I've decided to show what I've done and probably retire the vf-11 for now. I might do something else with it in the future but I'll probably work on another plane during my next break. Find this clip anticlimactic? Blame real life.

Woah I didn't think my decision to add droptanks just coz they look cool would cause this much debate. I added them coz it looks nice when they get ejected right before the plane rolls, like the opening scene from Yukikaze. Also, I did mention that it's probably not canon. The issue of not being able to transform because the parts are in the way shouldn't be an issue either since the armoured vf-1 can't transform without ejecting its parts. Again, I only did it coz it looks cool and I find it weird that there are no missiles for the vf-11 other than the superpacks.

This is how it looks like now, with missiles and droptanks attached. It probably isn't canon but I kinda like it this way since the Hasegawa kit did have panel lines for hard point attachments. Many thanks to Tipatat for his VF-1 model, which is where I got the missiles and attachment parts from.

Thanks! You should seriously do some Macross animation yourself. I've seen your reel and it's quite impressive. I'd like to but it's just a single sequence of the vf-11 entering the shot and shooting the missiles so there's nothing else to show.

There might be, after I get the base vf-11 ready for transformation to battroid first. It might take some time though coz I'm out of holidays. The good news is you might see something related from Kurisama soon.

Clean looking wireframes, Dan. I was expecting A LOT of edges since the objects look very smooth in your renders. Can't wait to see the rest of your VF-1.
