Aside from this series of letters a few years ago, what other claims have they made recently? I also wonder who made the decision to send the letters in the first place. There have been a few changes in the staff over the past couple of years. (I really don't expect an answer to this.)

Wow, that sucks. Seems like a waste of time, money, and effort, on everybody's part.
-
Don't see it. Doing that now.
-
Do you have a link to this information? If this ruling took place within the last few years the court filing is most likely online.

Your girlfriend is a pilot? (sorry, couldn't resist)

You got the Monster, too, thanks!

There's something familiar about the VF-1A with the yellow feathers and red flames. Is it supposed to be a Dragonball or Saint Seiya character?
-
VF5SS, thanks mucho for the screen caps. I didn't remember there being so many of them. If anyone comes across that book/magazine scan one day, please post it.
-
I seem to remember that they were different colors and some of the weapons were replaced with construction stuff. I could be misremembering, though. Perhaps it was just the book or magazine spread I'm remembering.
-
Thanks. Can someone also please provide images of the Tomahawk, Phalanx, Spartan, Defender, and Monster that were shown?

Does anyone have any line art or screen captures of the civilian Destroids from Macross 7? You know, the episode where Mayor Miriya encouraged the mecha-owning citizens to parade them through town. I also seem to remember a two-page spread from one of the Macross 7 books that showed all of them in a group shot. Anyway, if anyone could please post images of these, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

WOW. I'm just going to let this quote stand by itself. And with that, I am done. -

I've said all I'm going to say about the copyright notice on that graphic, but if you're going to judge me or Super7 as "clueless" after reading a handful of anonymous blog postings, then nothing's going to change your mind. -

No. Freelance writing is not my gravy train, it's really just something I do mainly for fun but I treat it the same way as I do my regular career. I do a professional job, and I don't do it for free. I think that's obvious. That's one of the reasons I've been working with Harmony Gold. You're certainly entitled to your opinion regarding Robotech Art 1-3, but you haven't seen the new art book, so to say that "this hasn't changed" is an unfair assessment. Several reasons: 1) As you stated above, I don't have the rights to publish exact reproductions of these designs in the USA. 2) The people that own the materials allowed me to catalog and copy them after I reassured them that they would only be used in a legitimate project that involved the US license holder. Later, they gave me permission to use the handful of sketches in the Super7 article as well as the one that I posted on Captain JLS' blog. 3) I flew to Japan to get the materials, including a bullet train trip to where they were being stored. 4) My friends and I worked for several weeks cataloging and translating the materials. 5) Last but not least, in addition to travel expenses, I have spent a lot of money scanning these and eventually shipping them back to Japan. Granted, I am a fan of these shows, but I never would have invested this effort if I wasn't going to get the material published legitimately and in a way that showcases the thought and detail that the original creators put into it. Simply dumping it on the internet (where someone is even more likely to copy and distribute the materials and my work with no benefit to me) is not an option. And now a question for you: Given what you know now about the situation regarding these, put yourself in my position. Would you put them on the internet without a second thought? If so, why? What would give you the right to do this? What would motivate you to do it all for free? -
I'd say one possible factor that contributes to this spate of MOSPEADA merchandise is watching what Yamato has demonstrated: a steady flow of Macross merchandise, that, for all of the flaws, fans keep buying those Valkyries, again and again and again. Why not try selling the same market some more triple-changing jets? Also, like someone explained above, if the company cuts a deal with Harmony Gold, then they have the rights to sell their product to the rest of the world, not just Japan.

All of the second-generation Yamato VOTOMS toys I've handled have been very sturdy. The extra ammo clips for the rifle can be clipped on the hips.

Well, you did willingly purchase a first-version Yamato product after being warned about it. ;p

There were several VOTOMS games for the PC, SNES and Playstation. Again, the book that comes with the VOTOMS box set covers these.

Southern Cross' 25th anniversary is in 2009, but less people in Japan care about Southern Cross than they do MOSPEADA. Don't hold your breath waiting for more toys or models.
-
Because 2008 is MOSPEADA's 25th anniversary.

This came up on Toybox DX, too, and my response was, "do you really need a picture?" It's going to look like any other manufacturer's set of RSC accessories. Think of Scopedog accessories as standard parts built to spec by different manufacturers. Look for the picture of Yamato's set if you don't know what to expect.

I have a model sheet that matches the mecha on page 54. It's a mecha that's larger than the MOSPEADA, and smaller than the Legioss. I believe it's also in the Artmic Design Works book. Thanks for posting these!

Hey, page 49 - thinking caps? ;p
