Okay, if I send a terminator back in time to revise my statement will you be happy? ;p The bit about trademarks and the terminator model/series numbers came from a friend who was discussing licensing with the people producing the new movie.
-
Oh, come on, it's right there in front of you. Read it again.
-
If you're going to serve up copypasta from Wikipedia, at least give us the full-sized portion: Full entry here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminator_%28character%29

I think this is the part everybody should be paying close attention to:
-
Oh, no, you... DI'INT!!! So did anyone email Twin Moons about where they got the $80 price tag?
-
From your PM: No. Silly goose. ;p
-
That was a wonderful read, thanks. I still don't understand why you continue to send money to people you consider liars, cheats, and thieves, and whose products you think aren't good, but if you don't lose any sleep over it, that's fine. You have to admit, though, there's something a little funny about that. I did, at the bottom of page 20, using about 20 words. It was all based on simple facts, no elaborate speculation, and it was all very straightforward and lighthearted. Then after I admitted that the discussion was dumb and we weren't going to convince each other of anything, you continued to post a couple hundred more words about why you thought it was going to be priced less, and then (I think) you tried to insult me. There's something a little funny about that, too. At least I thought so. Nobody else has seen the humor here? We are just talking about toys, aren't we?
-
BTW, the bet is open to anyone else who wants to take it. Just one person, though. If I'm wrong, I can't afford to be _too_ wrong. ;p
-
One, thing, though: Why do you repeatedly buy products from someone who is of "questionable repute," and why do you promote their products by reviewing them on your web site? If you have such a negative opinion of Toynami and George Sohn (I'm assuming your line about "greedy folks with poor business sense" was a reference to them), why do you devote so much time, energy, and resources to purchasing and discussing their products? Given how worked up you seem to have gotten during this conversation, I think this is something you need to ask yourself.

Okay, Jenius, I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings by calling you a "silly goose." The deal is off the table. No free Beta for you. (But really, it would have been a free Beta for me. ;p)
-
I make absolutely no promises (nor have I ever) about the line art. That's a much more complex situation than this. But I absolutely swear that if you and I make this agreement, I will stick to it. And please, don't mischaracterize my posts by saying stuff like this: I'm absolutely overjoyed that we're finally getting a Beta toy, and I don't want to see anybody screwed: neither the manufacturer, nor the retailers, nor the buyers. Unlike you, I'm refraining from impugning anyone's character and taking their words at face value. It's the way I'd like people to judge me. But hey, I can't do anything about your perception of reality. I do think that your reasoning is silly but I give you credit for sticking to your guns. So why not reward the wear and tear you've been putting on your fingertips by repeatedly responding to me with a free toy? If you're right, that's what you'll get. Come on, shake!
-
Come on, Jenius, at least just acknowledge that the offer is on the table. FREE BETA. You want references? I'll provide them. Shake!
-
It looks exactly the same from where I'm sitting, so why bother continuing to debate it? Are you giving up the chance for a free Beta? Come on, shake. I'm good for it.

I've seen things you wouldn't believe. Piles of deep-fried pierogies from the Yocco's on 222. I watched hot dogs glitter with chili sauce at the location on Route 100, while I stared, bleary-eyed at that map on the wall and wondered who the hell had hot dogs sent from Pennsylvania to Vietnam.
-
If Jenius told you to bring your Masterpiece Beta to Yocco's and douse it with chili sauce, would you do it?
-
This is SO dumb. Jenius, I will make a bet with you. BBTS will have the pricing information eventually. After they get the information, if they price the Beta at $99.99 or less, I will buy you a Beta, either Volume 1 or 2 (your choice). If they price the Beta at $100 or more, then you buy me Volume 2, because I didn't pre-order that one. If you want, send Shawn your phone number, he'll get us on a conference call so we can verbally "shake" on it.

1) It's about twice as big as the Alpha, which was $80 SRP. 2) Toynami said that it was going to be $150 SRP. Why would Toynami deliberately mislead people about the price? What would they possibly have to gain by lying to retailers, wholesalers, and other industry people at Toy Fair about the $150 SRP? There's nothing about this dream $80 price point that's based on fact or reality. The original pricing information came from BBTS, and then they discovered that price was an error. That's it. Isn't it?
-
Yes, I told him that Toynami was telling people at Toy Fair that it would retail for $150, and that the toy is twice the size of the Alpha. I can't figure out why you think it might actually turn out to an $80 toy.
-
Oh, poo, I pwned myself!
-
Because they'd be selling it to you at or near their cost? I wonder if Twin Moons just copied BBTS' prices, unless they made the same mistake BBTS did and read "TBD" as "$80 SRP." ;p
-
You know, when someone uses the term "high art" to describe something, more often than not it isn't being used as a compliment. Sort of like when someone is called a "rocket scientist." Usually that phrase is being used to say that they're stupid. So, just curious, do you think Macross Frontier is good or not?
-
The alternate ending was what they test marketed it with? Is that correct? I wonder who pushed for the "I Am Jesus" theatrical ending, Smith or someone else?
-
This comment would have carried more weight if you spelled "ignoramus" correctly. ;p

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it has no ISBN, but you can always search Amazon JP for used copies, and of course, Yahoo Japan Auctions. I don't have it but I have the first volume that I got as a gift from a friend, who bought it at Mandarake. Funny thing about it was that it has a Twentieth Century Imports sticker on it, which means that it went from Japan to America, back to Japan, and then back to America.

An email from BBTS customer service when I inquired about the $80 price tag: Now let's just relax and take a look back at the speculation you silly geese indulged in, thinking that a toy that was twice the size of the $80 Masterpiece Alpha was only going to cost $80: Also, sorry, Eugimon...
