Battlestar Galactica Discussion III
Roger replied to kaiotheforsaken's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
There's never an adequate explanation given when things happen like this. Bulldog found the fleet when he stole that Raider, too. (BTW, they used that gun camera footage again in this episode and it didn't synch up with what Helo was saying too well, did it?) Having Cavil as a "big bad" a la Buffy disappoints me. -
Definitely check out the "Problems and Pitfalls" section, there are some caveats to mixing up the solution that you should pay attention to. I have a bunch of old Stormtroopers I want to try this out on. Denture whitener didn't cut it.

You're right, it wasn't an apartment, it was a house, with a well-manicured lawn. I was there in the summer of 2006, a couple of days after San Diego Comic Con. I had dinner with Tom and he brought me back to the house where I met you and your then-fiancee, and he showed me about 2/3 of Shadow Chronicles. But the two of you were saying exactly the same negative things about it, I mean exactly. It was like hearing them in stereo, which made me wonder which one of you thought of the words first and which one was just parroting them. And then when I weighed in with my comments, which weren't negative, the two of you seemed annoyed at me. It was odd, to say the least. So that's where my assessment came from. Tom's not too reserved about his opinions on Shadow Chronicles and Harmony Gold these days. Doug Bendo interviewed him for his podcast recently, you should check it out (if you can get past the gurgling audio).

Well, I must have a different recollection of things, because I was in your apartment, watching Shadow Chronicles with you and Tom, and both of you were expressing your opinions pretty strongly about it. I guess we all see things differently.

From CDX's Toynami Toy Fair report: http://www.collectiondx.com/article/nytf09...bandai_tamashii "The 1/55 valkyries with the re-tooled heads are on hiatus, due to a licensing issue with Big West."

CDX has its Toy Fair Toynami report up: http://www.collectiondx.com/article/nytf09...bandai_tamashii "From the Toynami side of things they had the new Robotech Cyclone, which looks great, and is shipping now. All of the Beta fighters are on display and George said that the factory that did the Beta Fighters now have all the molds for the Alpha, and will tooling them from here on in. There is a possibility that we will see all plastic giftsets that include an alpha and beta in matching colors."

Hey, did anyone see this? http://hlj.com/product/CMS65279

How?

Yeah, but wouldn't you say your opinion is colored a bit by the fact that Tom Bateman was your roommate?

Terminator Salvation, colon, Really Long Movie Title
Roger replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/need-to-kn...-salvation.html If Skynet was really smart, it'd make little swarming bee terminators. Give them a little poison stinger and set them loose. No defense against it, and no need for ridiculous inefficient human-sized robots with Austrian accents, and concentration camps. Unless, of course, Skynet really loved us instead of hated us. -
Remember, politics and religion talk is bad but we can talk about "shooting seed" all we want. I'm emailing Shawn right now about what's taking place in his living room.

"Welcome to Macrossworld where it's okay to talk about Whoremoney Gold and Toynazi! DURRR!!!"
-
And giant crabs. What's next, make fun of people who caught sexually transmitted diseases? A lot of compassion flowing through here.
-
What's next then, cancer? "Haha, cancer. Watching a cartoon gave me cancer. It's funny because I said so."
-
Shame on you for minimizing the crime of rape.

This has been discussed elsewhere, but I think it's worth noting that there is now a support community for that plastic brightening formula at http://retr0bright.wikispaces.com/ - they have a couple of recipes for making the stuff, looks promising.

Battlestar Galactica Discussion III

Earth was the place he was talking about. That's where the Final Five re-created the Cylons' lost resurrection technology for their own purposes. -
(whoosh)

I'm not sure why you're asking for help, you'll either like it or you won't. As an adult, I really can't watch Robotech, but when I was 14 (probably a little too old for cartoons), I thought it was pretty cool. If I put myself in the mindset of that 14 year old, Shadow Chronicles is pretty cool, much better than the Sentinels. Wait a minute... Your son? I thought you were like 13 or something.

When did Cavil mention a colony? The Cylons do have a homeworld, but they've never discussed the details of it. There are also apparently millions of Cylons out there, as referenced by Cavil in an episode in the first half of the season. How many fit on a base star, I wonder? -
If you look through the previous 85 or so pages, you'll find your answer two or three times.

I asked Aramaki-san about this, accompanied by plenty of apologies. Here's what he said: "At first, MOSPEADA named from 'moto-speeder', that's true. Because when we was planning this story, STAR WARS episode 6 was in theater!" He also says he doesn't know about TLEAD/Tread, because that was Kakinuma-san's baby.

Should I read the Watchmen before seeing the movie?
Roger replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Read the book first, it's what Alan Moore would have wanted. You can get it from the library. Then see the movie and decide whether or not it works. For me, if the theme of the ending is intact, then it works. -

They're two different pieces of music. The one from Starbuck's apartment was "Metamorphosis One" by Philip Glass. -
They would have realized that by now, wouldn't they?
