About the part that I quoted.
-
So you were being sarcastic?
-
I don't think we've been reading the same fan fiction.
-
Damn, anyone have a good utility that converts MKVs to AVIs, or do you think they'll eventually release it in that format?

I think a total run of 250-500 sounds about right. Sofubi figures in the style of CM's Patlabor stuff would be fine by me, and with a production run of that size, maybe we'd get away with paying between $50 and $75 for each one? (Incidentally, I have a cool idea for a fourth colorway if they want to contact me. ;p)

There's no reason you couldn't have both. The little guys could be done as companions for the bigger ones. Here's how they would break down in 1/55 scale (Robotech names and English measurements in parens): Gamo (Enforcer) 17.63cm (6.94") Gosu (Commander) 15.9cm (6.26") Gurab (Shock Trooper) 9.81cm (3.86") Igaa (Invid Attack Scout) 4.9cm (1.93")

The simple equation when making toys for adult collectors is it takes money + guts, and you really just need the guts to let go of the money. These guys should know the risks. I love the Inbit designs so much that I'll buy toys of them even if they suck and are ridiculously priced. So put me on the list. ;p However, when they're gauging interest here on Macrossworld, they're not planning to sell directly to us, are they? It's going to be via gray market (HLJ or similar vendor), right?
-
Also, regarding this: http://www.hlj.com/hlj_gallery2/v/summer20...ageViewsIndex=2 This was part of the display at the August 2007 Wonderfest. Even though Joseph reported on HLJ that this was an upcoming toy, when we went by the booth they said it was something that was mocked up for the show only. Since it never appeared again and we never got a product solicitation, I'm guessing that was the case.

Jenius, who was planning on making that Gosu toy? Miriya, are you thinking of these? http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=24268 I'd like real honest-to-god toys, durable and poseable, something on par with the Super-Poseable Alphas and to scale with them, but I'm not holding my breath. This guy works as a placebo. ;p

Yes to all.

Does HMV ship to America? If that is the ISBN, Amazon JP doesn't have a listing for it. You can check Wikipedia for an explanation of ISBN-10 and ISBN-13. Nothing going on with my project. The owner of the Imai materials gave me the go-ahead to provide them to licensees of Harmony Gold, so as soon as someone wants to make an art book they're available.
-
I don't know, but I offered to get them in touch with the owner of the Imai materials.

Regarding the "New Mospeada Complete Art Works Book 2009" item coming up, the publisher has said that if sales of the first one are good, they would consider doing a second volume. No listing on Amazon JP for it yet. Keep looking for that ISBN...

It's going to be a TV series, so I wouldn't expect the same level that Appleseed delivered.
-
Woo actually wasn't directly involved at all, creatively speaking. All of the Woo-ish stuff (like the ubiquitous doves) were done as homages to his work by the Japanese animators.
-
That's from the Gakken/Animedia book I mentioned in the other thread.
-
The show is going to feature transforming motorcycles, designed by Aramaki. Hopefully some of the designs will show up online soon.

LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
Roger replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
No. It's not. -
This is amazing, I had no idea it was going to transform _and_ have the flight armor. Dorvack really doesn't deserve this. Can I have just the little powered suits?

MOSPEADA and Bubblegum Crisis Designs
Roger replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Animedia also released a MOSPEADA book with some pre-production art that's not in the Artmic book: http://www.robotechresearch.com/reference/...da/mospeada.jpg There are pictures of the wooden Legioss mockup in there that are pretty cool. All of these books are pretty cheap if you check Yahoo Japan Auctions for them. I've seen the Animedia book go for about $5. -
LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
Roger replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If a Robotech movie came out and if it was a huge hit like the Transformers one, then there would be a whole new group of consumers to exploit. These people would greatly outnumber the old fans of Robotech or Macross. Wondrous and horrible things could happen, all for the pursuit of the glorious dollar, including a final resolution to the logjam that has plagued the international flow of Macross product for the past ten years. (If you don't believe in this phenomenon, just wait until you see Terminator: Salvation to see what kinds of things are possible when there's money to be vacuumed out of peoples' pockets.) -
LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
Roger replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Conceivably it could. But Big West and Tatsunoko would have to settle their differences or come up with a new set of agreements for Macross to extend beyond Japan again. -

I don't see where you're going with this. Could you spell it out for me? -
From the anime or from the novel?
