Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
Kanedas Bike replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
LOL - honestly I'm more interested in seeing how things turn out re: availability. Beside I absolutely would not have accepted a free Valk. OT I know, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a re-release of the YF-19 or either of the VF-1S's by Arcadia sometime this year. Especially the 19, it just makes sense to try and get more return on investment out of the mold. -b. -
Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
Kanedas Bike replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
Also cancelled (1) of (3) that I initially pre-ordered. That's not necessarily an indictment of Arcadia, the VF-0D or whatever color it ends up being, but just a reflection of being slightly more aggressive with saving money. I'm not convinced that these will be available for a long time (or at all) after release since I think Arcadia is sticking close to a made to order production model, and if not I'll be good with the copies I have pre-ordered. If they are then hopefully everyone that wants one can get one when it's convenient for them. -b. -
Yeah, that's just a re-issue of the most recent DX Chogokin VF-27 with included Super Parts. And priced a bit high (I honestly don't recall what the original retail price was) compared to what you find on Mandarake. -b.

Kanedas Bike replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nope, no difference other than minor packaging details (like the sticker you mentioned). That said, I don't plan to sell unless a bigger and better Prime is released and agreed, there's no such thing as too many Primes. -b.- 16946 replies

YES!!!! Even had a couple of the GI Joe choose your fate books too. And yeah, pre-ordered a MP-10 off of HLJ a couple of days ago. This will be my 4th of the mold after Hasbro MP-10, YOTH MP-10 and the Hasbro Asia re-release. -b.- 16946 replies

Want? Absolutely not. Did? Absolutely yes. I guess it all depends on what you're willing to spend money on, I still haven't purchased a 2nd release Renewal 25S out of protest of the mark-ups but I love the 19 too much to pass it up. And at $ 20-$30 over MSRP I can tell myself that it isn't that bad. And I loathe Bandai for producing so few of the things I want to buy. -b.

Got one from HLJ (email and account confirmation), passed on CDJ (which I've used before for in-stock DX Chogokin Valkyries) because I thought I had to pay upfront. And in the meantime went over to Mandarake and got a great deal on a 25A...because why not. -b.

Star Trek Beyond (the not The Search for Spock)
Kanedas Bike replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Quoted for truth. Honestly I never thought Star Trek had the ability to create such hot-button debates, but this thread sure proved me wrong! A million times agree. And while I'm pretty desensitized to propaganda of any type in entertainment I could still do without it. All of that said, with the choice of director I'm expecting this Star Trek to be action on top of action + some occasional techno-babble. -b.- 466 replies

Agree * 1000. Even after all of these years The Fellowship of the Rings is one of my favorite movies to just pop-in and watch. After having seen The Battle of the Five Armies I wish the overall series had a better send-off (especially with the heavy handed references to LOTR at the very end). But oh well... Ha ha ha ha ha In a way they are very much victims of their own success. -b.

A DX VF-1 would be so intriguing. I'm on the side of the more choices the better - I don't want a Bandai or Arcadia only scenario. -b.
-
^...sure. All I'm saying is these, as cool as they may or may not be and as reasonably priced as they may or may not be - IMO they aren't better or more game changing as the Yamato/Arcadia VF-1's are or were. -b.

Star Trek Beyond (the not The Search for Spock)
Kanedas Bike replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Revenge and Lens Flares for the win. In all seriousness I literally grew up watching TOS and I loved Star Trek for what it was on TV (TOS, TNG, DS9, etc.) but I'm not as opposed to the new action packed Star Trek as some. -b.- 466 replies

Thank you. And nothing against Bandai or this line (though it's not for me) but those trying to hail this as the second coming of VF-1's...well, that's the lolz. -b.
-
^You should! They look great. Hopefully you don't suffer from display ADD like I do, I have to fight the urge to constantly re-arrange the Valks I have on display. -b.

This Hi Metal thread is awesome to read. There is no way that I'd dump my Yamato or Arcadia collection of VF-1's for this line. If anything all Arcadia would have to do is cut the SRP slightly and release some in-demand Valkyries and a significant number of people would stop paying attention to these. -b.

Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices
Kanedas Bike replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
Shooooottttttt....that is ridiculous. If that's the type of money being thrown around these days then it might be time to sell a VF-4G. I'll even cut $ 50 off of the price compared to that eBay listing. -b. -
Star Trek Beyond (the not The Search for Spock)
Kanedas Bike replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
^Really good points about any and all Sci-Fi, fictional villains or technology for that matter. Once they are de-mystified it takes away whatever it was that made them special to begin with. And are the Borg in Star Trek 3 or is this just chatter to fill the void? Cause they already did Borg in this new universe with Nero's ship... -b. *edit for spelling- 466 replies

Ditto! Especially like the shelf with the Angel Birds, 30th Anniversary, Cavaliers and VF-X in Fighter mode. -b.
-
^Because the Bandai VF-19 is sleeker than the Arcadia YF-19. They were designed with different aesthetics in mind. And that Gerwalk shot with all of the Frontier Super Parts is a big fat mess, I can see all of the loosening joints from here - -b.
-
Really hope that you're correct about Bandai with regards to producing enough stock. Can't really tell which mode (Battroid or Fighter) looks better, both look OK but neither are knocking my socks off right now. -b.

It's funny, I'm more excited about the lower price because it should mean less b!tching here on the boards vs. me being excited about having to pay less for the set. -b.
