  1. Me. Sorry! As a rule I usually don't like enemy mecha, the only exception being the 27 which I love. The 21 isn't bad, but would not be a must have in my collection. The Draken does nothing for me, at all, and from a design standpoint I really don't like it. -b.
  2. Not for nothing, that one particular issue was addressed in movie when Hux told Kylo and his squad to pull back because the Destroyers could no longer provide support because the Resistance/Rebels had pulled out of range. That was further reinforced in-movie when those two Tie Fighters that had accompanied Kylo were destroyed on screen. Not trying to change your minds or argue whether or not that story beat made sense, just pointing out that the filmmakers addressed that within the movie. -b.

For those that have hands-on experience with their HMR VF-2SS how do you like Fighter mode? I've only got (1) and it's listed for sale but if it doesn't find a good home and I end up keeping it, it'll probably end up in Fighter mode so I'm curious what other's think of this Valkyrie. For the record, I'd rather have a DX Chogokin or Arcadia effort which is why I'm perfectly fine letting the HMR go. -b.
  5. All good! A fun movie would be a nice change of pace, Rogue One was pretty harsh, even with the underlying theme of "hope". Ron Howard garners a lot of good faith, and rightfully so, I'm very nervous and cautiously optimistic that he'll deliver a movie that is universally accepted. I think Disney's Star Wars could use a clear "win". -b.
  6. It cannot be understated how uninspired Arcadia's box art is. -b.
  7. Not for nothing, I usually watch Stuckmann, I tend to agree with his assessments, and his review videos aren't overly long. I also like Jahns, just not as much. Planning to see this for the third and final time in the movies this weekend, but that may or may not happen. If I do go, I'm not looking to see any additional or missed details, or to glean whether I like it more or less - I just want to go and enjoy. -b.
  8. Trying to wrap my head around whether that would be a good thing or not. I think there will and should be some humor, but I'm on the fence on just how much is too much. Very likely, it all depends on if/when audience fatigue sets in. -b.
  9. Cool, cool. I don't want to rehash the arguments around TLJ here, I'll just say that we are in agreement in that we both hope for a good movie in the stand-alone Solo entry. -b.
  10. No sir, I would say that as a whole they have not. From what I gather a lot of what has some fans upset re: TLJ is the liberties Rian took with the mythos. Especially as it relates to certain character traits, abilities/usage of the Force and the overall state of affairs in the Star Wars universe. So they've created a sandbox and said "creators" you must stay within these boundaries, but while there we (Disney) are going to allow some creative license. It's a fair bet that will be the case with Solo and any other stand-alone SW film, again unless their bottom line becomes negatively impacted. -b.
  11. Star Wars as a brand is very strong, I agree that it'd take more than 1 or even 2 financially under-performing movies to cause Disney to scale back. They'd have to see a long term trend of declining returns from movies, merchandising, theme parks and other revenue streams. And given how TLJ has been received by some fans I suspect that Disney may be more conservative with story telling or with the latitude they allow writers and directors. Meaning new movies (not currently in production) would be more vanilla and by-the-book. And hopefully that poster was fan made. -b.
  12. Except in TFA when Kylo Force held her in the forest, or when she had the meltdown when she first encountered the Light Saber or when Kylo knocked her into a tree or when she opened the wrong doors on Solo's freighter. So...yeah...didn't you swear off Star Wars a page or two ago? There are some legit gripes that anyone, fan of the new trilogy or not, can and should have with these movies. I just can't understand why Rey being good at things is one of them. Would y'all prefer a training montage to help sooth your pain? But a lot of the posts I see ad nauseam in this thread is pure unadulterated butt-hurt because these either aren't the OT or are too much like the OT (it's still hard for me to figure out what the most vocal detractors actually want - because it's just a bunch of negative noise at this point). And sorry to break it to the folks living in a nostalgia-induced state of euphoria, the OT didn't contain 3 cinematic masterpieces, Star Wars was cool because it was something we hadn't seen before, The Empire Strikes Back was pretty bad-ass and Return of the Jedi borderline sucked. P.S. Porgs and Ice Foxes > Ewoks -b.
  13. With respect you're only focusing on the parts you really don't like i.e. what she's been successful at versus where she's failed (like the example I laid out where for all of her ability she was quit handily beaten and helpless). So, we'll agree to disagree. Re: Hamill, he's not young actor or some nobody, he'll get just as much screen time as he was always going to get in IX. Going back to clarify or make a statement simplye means that he's a professional, he didn't like some of the direction Rian took with Luke. And I believe him when he said even with the creative differences he still things TLJ was a good movie that pushes the boundaries of what people "think" Star Wars is and should be now versus what it was. -b.

Well sir, I just "Liked" your post. No more Up or Down votes for me today. Anyway, seriously debating on selling my remaining HMR's, I have 1 remaining of each; Regult, Hikaru 1J and the newly released 2SS. But I also have the Elint and Hikaru 1A on pre-order because I'm a Macross fiend that can't help but pre-order 90% of the stuff that's coming out. -b.

^ Right back at ya! I've used both before, thankfully not in this thread, but as others have said it's just a quick and easy way to express a like or dislike. In particular I upvote the hell out of pictures or posts that are particularly positive in nature and downvote posts that express or are heavy handed with the negativity. But yeah, I'd be perfectly fine if the feature was disabled. *Shrugs* -b.

    - > I love MWF, reading the forums during an incredibly boring day at work is the best. -b.
  17. D4 is legit, as Noel said they are the web-store for Sen-ti-Nel, the prices are always good but the shipping is the killer. I'd recommend waiting for N-Y, HLJ, AmiAmi or your usual preferred store to save money on shipping costs. -b.
  18. But see, she's not a Force wielding genius, it's more like brute strength. So what she moved some rocks and grabbed a Light Saber? She's was shown to have some hand-to-hand fighting aptitude when she knocked Finn on his ass in TFA. She didn't From a purely Force aptitude perspective he bested Kylo Ren in TFA, Storm Troopers and some rocks. -b.
  19. Saw it a second time with a different group of friends. I enjoyed it as much if not a little bit more than my first viewing. The parts I hated the first time around I hated and same for those that I really, really, really enjoyed. I've got at least one more trip to the movies as my Mom wants to see it (she's the entire reason I like Sci Fi, Horror, toys, etc. - it's because she's a fan). A lot of really good/thoughtful replies in the thread, both for and against whether or not TLJ is a good movie. I wanted to respond to these since they were geared towards my last post; HA! I submit to you that it was in essence the very definition of a plot twist. But I certainly don't begrudge you or anyone who was annoyed by the lack of payoff - if I cared about that particular character and their story or origins I'd be pissed off too. You make really good points, but you contradict yourself about not carrying how powerful Rey is. The answer on how/why she can do a lot of the things she does is because of just how strong with the force she is. I think it would behoove JJ or whomever rights Episode IX to explain the 'why' or at least give more context otherwise some will continue to be annoyed at just how powerful she is. I read an article that talked about how the initial fan reaction for the Empire Strikes Back was mixed as well, although I don't think it was as extreme. Either way I'm really fascinated to see how history treats TFA, TLJ and this new Trilogy as a whole. -b.
