There's a lot of unearned entitlement that seems to go along with the discussions surrounding limited edition, non-mass produced items. The bottom line is companies go into business to turn a profit, if Yamato could make this exact item profitable it damn well stands to reason they'd make it happen. As it stands some bean-counter (no offense to all you accountant types) decided there wasn't enough, or any profit to be had. That's it and that's all. Said it years ago, but they are not out to get you or piss anyone off. Let it go and discuss the item on it's own merits, not whether or not you are owed the opportunity to purchase it at X dollars and cents. The same goes for the other super limited, bend over, hard to get items produced by the Bandai and Takara-Tomy's of the world. -b.

Good luck with the fix...mine bricked a few months ago (or rather, it would only play standard DVD, no Blu-ray or games) so I just ended up buying the newer slim 250G. -b.

I think he means as a prototype for an affordable mass produced toy...which by all accounts it did, which is why they went the limited model/resin type route for the 1/2000 scale before moving on to the smaller 1/3000 we're drooling over now. -b.

yup! The 19 is one of my favorite Valkyrie designs, and while the 1/60 is a decent enough toy design wise and executed much better with the later releases like the Double Nuts and Bird of Prey there is loads of room for improvement. -b.

Just got my re-issue VF-1J w/ Armor Parts from Over-Drive. Took all of 3 days from the date I paid for it to arrive to my doorstep earlier this morning. HLJ always has been notoriously slower to process orders and ship then other overseas web-shops. But I like that they've been around for so long...it's a comfort factor when I order from them. -b.

I never really was a fan of the VT-1, but the job you did on the weathering really makes me want one. It sucks that you have to try and track down replacement shoulders but you really did a great with the customization. -b.

Ewwwww...a few of those ladies need to put their clothes BACK on. And Lion-O? Really... Re: the movie itself, yeah The Fifth Element is a classic and is still more enjoyable then a lot of the stuff that gets put out now. -b.

Was this a surprise to anyone else? New Xbox 360 "Slim" I would be excited but the part about it not being compatible with the old style external hard-drives irks me. Does anyone know if that's confirmed (from the pic it doesn't look like there is room for one). -b.

Wow, it's really difficult not to get excited about the quality of this... More than likely it's not an actual trailer, more like a mini-pilot. But I do hope that if any movie, game or other production being made follows this story outline. If they are preparing for a movie then dammit they better use all of the actors shown. -b.

I seem to remember reading that Season 8 was not supposed to be the last season and how this season's ending was luckily written/filmed in such a way that it could fit the mold of a "grand finale". But I could be wrong. And of course there is the inevitable film and/or spin-off. -b.

...my PS3's cooling fan is not making noise, never said it was. I probably should have clarified that when I replied to TWDC's post. The only issue I've had is Blu-ray playability. I can't confirm if game play is affected, as I watch more movies then I do game. And the problems I've seen reported on various Sony/Playstation related forums only game play and Blu-ray playback where mentioned, fan noise didn't factor much into those discussions. My problem is def. firmware related, I don't think the Dust Bunnies mounted an attack just as I updated the software (j/k). *edit to add - no sooner do I post my initial reply/finishing watching one Blu-ray, to put in Star Trek do I get the damn "This is an invalid disc. (80029906)" error message. Guess it's about that time for me to brush up on my "angry consumer" writing skills. -b.

That's the thing though...I NEVER had any problems with it until the later 3.X updates, none at all. I'm not ready to crack it open to try and save off a failure that I don't think was in the works prior to these firmware updates. We'll see what happens, but from looking around I'm not the only one having spontaneous issues. -b.

YES! I've had issues with all of the recent 3.X updates, up to and including 3.30. Right now my "fat"80G is having a hell of a time playing any Blu-ray movies. Sometimes I'll get 20 minutes into a movie and the PS3 will just freeze, sometimes I can watch an entire flick, other times I can't even get to the menu. Even if I try to stop the movie the console will just freeze and I have to hit the power switch in the back to turn it off. No issues to report with any games, but I'm only playing Super SF IV. Had none of these issues prior to the firmware updates and a quick run of Google and the Sony PlayStation forums shows I'm not the only one. I hope there's a patch coming soon because the idea of a mandatory update frying my console really...well, would really piss me off. -b.

...considering both the season and the kick-ass sale HLJ has going on I just treated myself to a VF-11B. After seeing all of the rave reviews and drool-worthy pics I figured I'd be my own Santa on this one. That said for a moment I was about to order two v2 VF-1's (TV 1A and Brown 1J) since the price pre-shipping was about the same...oh well. -b.
