Again, the same can be said for all types of films that have become cult favorites. So-so story/scrip/acting/etc. are almost, but not necessarily, prerequisites for cult status. I'd be interested in a remake if handled properly, the issue is that it's a near certainty that it won't be. -b.

Not really stoked about some of the creative liberties being taken with the release, but I'll buy the collected edition because I'd love to have Star Wars in high-def. I'm still trying to decide if I want to watch the films in chronological order of release or story. After the initial viewing I really only see myself watching The Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith with any frequency. -b.

The same could probably be said of a lot of cult classic/favorites. -b.

Amazing minature model of the Hamburg Airport
Kanedas Bike replied to wm cheng's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Three point five MILLION Euros to make... But like everyone else has said, it's really and truly spectacular. Thanks for sharing. -b. -
Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time
Kanedas Bike replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Hard to argue, I imagine that it wouldn't age well with all the advancements FX and CGI have made, but I don't think this should make it fall under Worst SciFi of all time. And honestly, whether you hate the story or not neither should Avatar. -b. -
New Star Trek series in the works?
Kanedas Bike replied to Zor Primus's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Interesting. Personally I hope they wait until the current run of movies is done. Still, I wonder if this will be met more with fan-rage because it's not classic Kirk, ST:TNG or just outright apathy like the reboot was when it was announced? -b. -
Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie
Kanedas Bike replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Personally I think the super parts make the YF-29 look...gratuitous, not sure if it's the amount of engines, or how busy the design looks to begin with. Don't get me wrong, I've grown to like the 29 but I still need time to digest the super parts. Hell I was more interested in scoping out the 25 that was in the background of that first pic. PS - thanks for posting them Swoosh. -b. -
Square Enix Playarts Figs
Kanedas Bike replied to BeyondTheGrave's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Would like to say they're about 8 inches tall. I love my Halo Noble 6 and plan to get the rest of the Reach figures along with a few others from the Street Fighter and Metal Gear Solid series. -b.- 224 replies

Agreed and agreed (even though I enjoy the blow poo up variety of summer movies too). One point that did kind of bug me was that I hoped that But all in all it was a fun ride and definitely something that will be added to the Blu-ray collection. -b.

Hater or not, thanks to A1 for posting. Wasn't even aware there was an animated pilot/show for Black Dynamite. Too many quotable lines to choose from so I'll just say this show will be Munaaaay. -b.

Man of Steel - Superman movie has a director
Kanedas Bike replied to Mr March's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That was horrible. And I get the joke/sarcasm but the pic they released doesn't make the character look heroic, at all - he looks like a villain. Is it too early to start hoping for the next reboot??? -b.- 442 replies

AKIRA LIVE ACTION MOVIE = Life Support?
Kanedas Bike replied to Macross007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
As much as I hate the idea of a live action (American made or otherwise) version of Akira and as much as I wanted to stay away from the current conversation about who should play who, that poster actually made me LOL. There's always a chance that Hollywood will pleasantly surprise, but I don't care to keep my hopes up. Just leave some things alone. -b. -
Wouldn't be surprised if that particular plot point ties into The Avengers...and even if it doesn't it was one of Marvel's way of connecting the universe together, or at least Thor and Cap. -b.

Thanks! I gave some hard thought about trying to paint or drybrush some parts but I really didn't want to risk it since I have no real previous experience with models. I still have the DMK02 Bumblebee kit that I haven't even taken out of the box that I might experiment with, especially since it didn't get all the chrome and paint app love that Prime received. Plus it's cheaper and the last time I looked more readily available for purchase in case I screw it up. Good luck with yours! -b. *edit for some spelling and grammar

Have had this built for about a week, just now got around to snapping some pics. I would say my photography skills match my modeling skills, so set your expectations accordingly. As many of the reviews stated, building this was an exercise in patience as a few of the parts just don't fit that well together and if you try and get it into some dynamic poses be prepared to start putting pieces together again. I do love the accuracy and detail of the model and I'd pay some serious coin to get a non-transformable toy representation that was as detailed. Anyway...here are the pics. Enjoy! -b.

Outstanding. And like a few others it seems this will be a B-Day gift from me to me. -b.

Agreed. Was pleasantly surprised when I saw this today, it exceeded all of my expectations, which were not lowered in any way. All-in-all the movie was pretty good and I can't wait for The Avengers. -b.
-
It looks fine as is. More than likely the same tint that's on the 29 and that allows plenty of visibility into the cockpit. -b.
