...drool over the new Square Enix Play Arts Kai figures. Just inspired me to place an order with Ami Ami for Shepard, Garrus and Ashley. Re: game, doing another play-thru of ME3 with my Soldier. Will do my Vanguard play-thru on PS3. I waited until the new endings came out before finishing the game and I'm SO happy that I did. The longer cut help to flesh out what happened to your crew and other civilizations after the end. -b.

Hell, it'll probably become a holy grail regardless. Especially when you consider how Bandai releases DX Frontier items, exclusive or not. -b.

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
Kanedas Bike replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hey! Those two look nothing like Commander Shepard and Ashley. I hate the way Hollywood casts for video game movies. Grrr Rage. Just kidding, but the Mass Effect look is so strong it's not even funny. ... On topic, I'm looking for the movie and like everyone else hope the mech/giant roboto designs are nice. -b.- 1206 replies

I was expecting to hate this thing too, as I wasn't that big a fan of the Alto custom YF-29 or the 29 in general but this looks GREAT. GROUP BUY IS NEEDED. -b.

Prometheus - on Blu-Ray and DVD Oct. 9, 2012
Kanedas Bike replied to Pizza the Hutt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Interesting clip, reminded me that I really wanted to enjoy Prometheus more than I did and that despite whatever flaws I perceive it warrants a second viewing in the theater. And a inevitable purchase on Blu Ray. -b. -
See I'm not keen on paying up front, nor do I have any personal experience with some of these other shops. They may be good, they might not. I've been buying from HLJ since the 1/72 Yamato YF-19 and places like BBTS, AmiAmi I also have long-standing, positive buying relationships with. For me that's worth a little of my time and effort. Others will place a premium on sleep. Either way you go is fine, its all about personal preference and how/what you value more. Ultimately its Bandai that's screwing the pooch by either causing consumers to pay higher prices, go thru greater lengths to ultimately line Bandai's pockets. And it's the weekend, I'm burnt from work so I plan to party just a bit. So sleep again will be at a loss. -b.

My patience is wearing paper thin at this point. I've not had a decent freaking nights sleep since pre-orders went up. Waking up every couple of hours to check HLJ, update scanner going off or not, is really pissing me off. If I wasn't such a huge kid in love with toys I'd have said F this after day one. -b.

^ Ditto to the clean look of your collections/displays. For some reason m0n5t3r's collection and set-up speak to me more, love the display and how everything is posed. Very cool. -b.

Prometheus - on Blu-Ray and DVD Oct. 9, 2012
Kanedas Bike replied to Pizza the Hutt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The article you posted was pretty interesting, hopefully the story is able to continue and we get definitive answers to a lot of the questions created by the movie. This for me would help to alleviate some of the plot/pacing/character development issues that have made me rather 'meh' on a film I very much wanted to enjoy more. -b. -

Shrugs. Not emotional at all, I just don't agree with what you've said or your opinion of the movie and it's intent or your opinion of those that didn't have an overwhelmingly positive view of it (Prometheus). A modern reinvention of Alien? Why? Because some review/reviewers want to invariably draw comparisons because Alien and Prometheus share the same director and similar plot devices (human ship lands on alien world, encounters scary alien, people die). Just think about it why would you want to use those opinions to further your assertion that Prometheus = remake = alternate universe? BUT if you want to believe that, then knock yourself out, but don't try to pass off your opinions as facts when they don't reconcile with what the director, writers, studio, major news outlets and average fans know and understand. This is a prequel, in that it takes place in-universe with Alien and Aliens before said stories transpire as well as helping to flesh out small parts of what happened/what was shown in Alien. Hell just say "I wish this was an alternate timeline or reboot" and keep it moving - but don't try to make it so or make others see it that way just because it fits your sensibilities. And if additional movies are made and if they take the story further away from what transpired in older movies in the series (Alien thru Alien Resurrection) then so be it, but it doesn't make this alternate universe, it just makes them their own stand-alone stories. And I love how you ignored the person that replied directly to you by saying "who gives a sh!t" to one of your posts but tried to make me the target of your angst. Emotional. LOL -b. *edit to add spoiler tag -

Not at all. That said there are more gaps between Prometheus and Alien and I'm sure Ridley was thinking expanded universe and the studio was thinking "sweet, more sequels/cash". -b. -

Am I the only one that got a Mass Effect vibe from that armor??? I can't be alone in that. *off to customize a set in ME3 to look like Idris -b. PS - can't wait for the movie, really hope it's good and worth the inevitable hype- 1206 replies

Prometheus - on Blu-Ray and DVD Oct. 9, 2012
Kanedas Bike replied to Pizza the Hutt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nope, for me it has to do with whether or not this was a GOOD movie. Like a lot of people I thought it was a beautiful looking movie, and I saw it in 3D. It looks great, but the story, plot and *cough* characters left me a little underwhelmed. I really want to like the film because I like Ridley Scott and I'm stoked that a decision was made to not only try and explain some things from the Aliens franchise but to also, or more importantly, expand upon it. Especially after the cluster frakks that the AvP films have been. And like it or not they've built upon Alien cannon as well. But back to Prometheus, it probably should have been longer to really flesh out the characters and plot. And. No. Just stop. This in no way is some alternative universe, reboot or other foolishness. Most people's opinion of the film have nothing to do with fanboy or girl love for Alien or Aliens. The movie just was a little underwhelming. -b. *edit to get the quote tags right -

Just got back from seeing it as well. Still formulating an opinion on whether I really enjoyed it or not, or if all of the "this isn't a prequel to Alien" really stands up against the events in the film. Even with all of the recent comments here and elsewhere I was hoping for a LOT more. Eh. Oh well. -b. -

Would love for that lineup to include the actual ship too, I'm actually digging the design. -b. -
Nice - love all the pictures. Although they do nothing to help my ever increasing jealousy behind not being able to order the Super or Armor Parts. -b.

Double This. The 25 is an instant classic, and while the 29 grew on me a little bit if I had to choose between the two, the 25 is just so clean vs. the overall too-busy-for-it's-own-good 29. That and my avatar should point to my obvious bias. -b.

...wonders if I'm the only one really waiting for, or even wanting a Tornado Pack for their VF-25. -b.

Saw it Friday, it wasn't bad. Having not read the books I didn't have any set expectations with regards to the story, etc. I will say that it was fairly enjoyable. Not anything that I would see again in the theater, but if you're a fan of Sci-Fi and/or the book I'd say it's worth a look (matinee). The acting, effects and story were all decent and worthy of a big-budget Disney film - but how the story compares to the novels I can't say. *edit to add Woola was freaking awesome and actually stole the show in many parts -b.

Nice. After seeing that I can't decide if I want to break out my Ozma or order dinner. -b.

Bandai and HLJ know! But yeah in all seriousness this whole thing is a bit of a fiasco (especially if you're one of the folks still searching for a preorder at a reasonable price) and really, who knows. -b.

Can't imagine that's the case. That would indicate that those folks have either found another source at a cheaper price or that somehow demand has died down to the extent that enough of these became available for HLJ to re-open the preorder window. -b.
