CLU still looked computer animated, granted I agree that the animation/effect looked great, but that's because it worked very well in context. Computer system, computer animated looking CLU. Similar to how in theaters while on the grid the movie was in 3D but in the real world 2D. I think unless there were significant improvements in technology a computer generated young Han, Leia, Luke or anyone else would be too jarring against real world actors and would take the audience out of the film. Just roll with a new set of characters and have the old folks be old, or used as voice-overs or something. Hell they already ruined Indiana Jones with too old Harrison... -b.

Love all the customs, if I could manage to snag one or two more (only have 1) then I'd be tempted to try a custom scheme too. -b.

Still debating, I fully paid for a per-order at GameStop which I haven't picked up (X-Box). A friend of mine returned his the very next day. I really wanted this to be good game... -b.- 216 replies

Too funny. Honestly I buy Yamato's (and would Arcadia assuming they continue w the high-end market) and Bandai Valks because they're NOT made for kids. They're made for adult collectors who want design aesthetic and playability in one perfectly transformable item. I hate most, if not all new non-MP Transformers or toy lines geared towards a younger demographic, to my aesthetic taste the items look "blah". I hope Arcadia continues the lines started by Yamato, but all this other talk is just noise. Signed an elitist-professionally-gainfully-employed-father of a 16 yr old Son who thinks his Dad's collection of "toys" are the lamest things ever regardless of price. -b. And in before the lock.

Nope, just going thru some apparent name change and/or re-branding. Check the "Arcadia" thread for all the updates and theories. -b. And the Interesting Times at Yamato thread. -b.

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2
Kanedas Bike replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Haven't bought a Hasbro Star Wars toy in years, probably 10 or more, but I could be interested in this new line provided they live up to the "best figures ever produced by Hasbro for Star Wars" billing. Thanks for posting Black Valkyrie. -b. -
Re: another VF-1 redesign, hopefully not, invested too much money in the v2 1/60 VF-1 to consider a 4th go round with Yamato (v1, 1/48, v2) for the design. Not including the recent Bandai offerings. Just give us some more non-canon schemes or something new. -b.

That would be cool. I think the idea of the same Director at the helm of the reinvention of Star Trek also at the helm of a new generation of Star Wars films is kind of surreal. This considering how the two franchises have traditionally been looked upon as opposites (for lack of a better term) like the hardcore fans of one can't also be hardcore fans of the others. Plus lens flare light saber battles! *and no, lens flare didn't bother me at all in Star Trek -b.

Depending on the price save some more cash and buy something else instead, like a VF-4 (which appears to be selling for more than MSRP, hence the save more money suggestion). The 0S is a good looking bird on paper but reissue or not I'd wait for Yamato to revisit the design before I bought another (had two, sold them both). Never owned a SV as I prefer "hero" Valks but after reading the responses here I'm glad I decided to skip it. But IF you must have one, get the 0S. Hero Valks FTW. My .02 -b.

Inspired by all of the amazing collections and pictures figured I would post a few quick snaps of my Macross Frontier collection. These are all Bandai Renewals (sold off 99.99% of my v1's). Apologies if the pics are grainy, taken and posted by tablet. Enjoy! -b.

Think he meant because of the high price of the Valk, and the price scaring you or others off, nothing to do with your experience with NY. -b.

Overly sensitive? Understatement of the century. On topic, I wonder how many will actually be available at the time of release. Judging by HLJ's response I'm betting 9. -b.

As well as for myself, though I generally don't post any pictures. I've made a lot of purchases with HLJ, AmiAmi and others and as long as I feel I get the value for my dollar then I'll keep giving them my business. -b.

Agreed, it is silly. But it doesn't have to accompany the other foolishness like random hostility towards forum members or accusations against reputable retailers based on speculation. -b.
