You have the correct understanding, you risk having your account closed. All depends on your history with them. -b.

Just received mine from NY about 20 minutes ago. Debating on paying (payment due by the 18th) since they've been unresponsive to questions about shipping on my last paid order. -b.

Ditto re: Hobby Search. Now for my other pre-orders. -b.

Anime Export (it was under their "Released" section yesterday, but it's under "Specials" now). -b.

IMHO the pace of the show is very Whedon-esq. The strength of his shows and writing has always been around team building w focus on individuals making the team better, from Buffy and ensemble, Angel, Dollhouse and Firefly/Serenity as examples (hell, even Alien: Reserrection showed this). I'm not surprised w the slow build-up and the mystery origins and/or motivations and the sluggish pace to setup the biggger picture. That said, will I watch? Sure on DVR, but I don't expect the show to hit its stride until the second half of season 1 or even 2 (assuming it goes that far). Hopefully it does because I like the concept of the TV-verse expanding on, or enhancing the overall movie universe. -b.

Got lucky and was browsing HLJ just as the Metal Build Destiny opened for pre-order and got my order in. Came home from work today to find that it'd already sold out at AmiAmi and Hobby Search. -b.- 6025 replies

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures
Kanedas Bike replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
^ if that's not a super exclusive then you should try www.sideshowtoy.com. I did a quick browse and didn't see it, but I didn't look very hard since I'm at work. Part of me wishes they'd do a comic book version from the old Iron Wars storyline, that's what got me hooked into comics and into Iron Man as a kid. -b. * edit for some crazy double post thing that happened -
This ^ And those that do notice the items I have displayed call them Transformers and I'm far too impatient to even begin to try and explain the difference. -b.

Fine, there is nothing wrong with being a film geek, or aficionado. But let those that are willing to give something a chance or enjoy something you find intellectually offensive because you "know" better a break. Every other thread it's a select few that just put a beat down on everything. It gets old, and tiresome trying to avoid the persistent negativity and passive aggressive nonsense towards those that might have a differing view. You don't like this movie, cool you're more than entitled to your opinion. Someone else might and they're equally entitled to theirs, without being told, or made to feel "less than". -b.

Well thank goodness there are people around to tell folks what's "good" and "bad" before, during and after a movie is released. Otherwise I and the other sub-100'ers might hurt ourselves going to these obvious popcorn movies. For shame every movie, game, music or any medium release known to man isn't on par with what the interweb elite deem acceptable. So what the title is the same as another story, so what that movie is being marketed or touted as said story? If you "know better" and deem it offensive then don't waste your time or money. But hell hath no fury like a nerd scorned if someone out there actually like, or is willing to enjoy for what it is, a concept SOME feel the need to bash. -b.

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
Kanedas Bike replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Saw it again, this time in IMAX 3D, certainly understand now about missing details from the 2D version. Really enjoyed it the 2nd time around and found that I wasn't as annoyed by things that bothered me during my first viewing. What did stand out was how empty the theatre was, maybe because it was a 9 pm Sunday showing but it made me think back on the discussions around profitability and the possibility for a sequel or franchise. That said, a definite buy for my collection when it comes out on Blu-ray. -b.- 1206 replies

Have been lucky I guess, the QC or design or manufacturing gremlins have spared most of my collection (Yamato and Bandai). Of (3) canon fodder 171's (2) are opened and after 1 transformation each nothing has cracked, crumbled or broken. I generally don't put my Valks thru multiple transformations but I'm extra "aware" of issues that others have experienced so that I can be on the look out. Sucks for everyone that has issues, hopefully fixes are, or become available. -b.

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
Kanedas Bike replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Agreed. Although "the stupid" seemed to be the intent to make this more appealing to a wider audience. In more popcorn movie sort of way. More in terms of extra content or more in terms of higher quality picture and audio? And big kudos on the design work you did. -b.- 1206 replies

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
Kanedas Bike replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Saw it. Enjoyed it. I found myself sometimes wishing that it was a little darker, or maybe more serious, but I truly appreciated the movie for what it is. Didn't see it in 3D, but that gives me an excuse to see it in theaters again. -b.- 1206 replies

Uh oh, I must be the only person that doesn't really like the scheme. The 29 had to grow on me way back when they first released pictures of the design and how it reminded me of a really "busy" 19. Now w this color scheme I just want Arcadia to hurry up and release their 19 v. 3. Hopefully it's as easy to acquire as initially thought for those that want one, but I won't be inclined to stay up late or pay extra for one, web exclusive or not. But kudos to Bandai for continuing to churn out Macross Frontier Valks, especially in schemes that fans want. -b.
