Just caught up with the last few episodes, including tonight's. I won't type any details but all I can say is this is SUCH a Whedon production, for better or for worse. The tone has also gotten a lot darker vs. the first few issues which in my opinion where too light. Hopefully a nice balance is met between the two because I really like the show, characters and concept and look forward to what Marvel could do with a few seasons on-air. -b.

The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread
Kanedas Bike replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Kind of a different set of circumstances when folks give "feedback" on what's arguably a QC issue with crooked/missing/wrong details like the Skull on a VF-1. Especially on an official product and especially on an official product that's been released and re-released. Never purchased any of the third party TF releases but for my .02 if they're going to go thru all of the trouble to maintain the appearance of being accurate to one or more source material then go all the way and don't take liberties with the color. And let me add, that I have NO idea what the color on this not-Galvatron is supposed to be, but since there's a discussion on this then I assume there's some room for debate on how accurate it is. -b.- 9240 replies

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
Kanedas Bike replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Agree 100%, the Metal Build line is pretty damn nice. I had (2) copies of the Destiny on pre-order but I couldn't justify the extra spend after holiday gift buying and the spending spree I've been on for my own personal "stuff" so I cancelled one and just kept one w Hobby Search. I found a pretty good price on the Freedom but I'm really trying to maintain some self-control and not spend the money. -b.- 6025 replies

Reading the comments on the article most folks have fallen back to say this is just "some dudes" guess and in no way a "rumor" or leak. Either way I kind of feel like I'm seeing a train wreck just before it happens. Hopefully I'm wrong and the movie turns out to be awesome sauce, but... -b.

Still waiting on mine to ship. I got caught by shops being closed for holiday break until around Jan. 5th/6th. I want to get a Metal Build Freedom to go with it. -b.- 6025 replies

If that's true then DC or Wonder Woman fans will have a FIT. Personally I don't really care enough (yet) to have a positive or negative reaction - just a meh with a side of SMH. -b.

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures
Kanedas Bike replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's a good thing Sideshow gives you the option to flex out payments for pre-orders because Hot Toys has been releasing a sh!t ton of Iron Man figures. Thanks to the amount of armors shown in Iron Man 3 there's been no shortage of designs for them to turn into figures. Hell, if I was a member of a sixth scale forum I'd probably be complaining about how many Iron Man releases there have been too. If you want to get doubles of even one release you're at $ 700 to $ 800. Me thinks they don't complain any more, or less, than Macross or Transformer fans. I've got two Mark 42's and one Silver Centurion on pre-order and they are killing my budget. But I'd be hard pressed not to seriously consider some older movie designs if the figures were tweaked just a bit to provide for some better articulation or fixes over previous releases. But then I'd complain about how many more Iron Man figures are on the market - . Regarding the Starboost armor, for me it's a very easy pass. It's an interesting design but I agree that it doesn't really mesh with the overall aesthetic or other armors - especially if you've only got limited space to display a 6th scale figure and want it to be something "iconic". -b. -
Meh, never really cared for the size of the 1/48. I sold all of mine except for (1) of the original VF-1A Low Visibility and a recently acquired Chronicle Exclusive TV Max VF-1A. And if they're gonna be in the ballpark of $ 500 then pass. Even with a idea of improvements of a v3 1/60 line I'd much rather have some cool paint schemes or something "new" from a game or other source for the existing line. The idea of re-collecting a slew of VF-1's from Arcadia at this point in time has zero appeal to me. -b.

Kanedas Bike replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ah, gotcha. We basically said the same thing except for the MP-10 discrepancy and my error on the MP Star Saber designer. Thank you for adding some clarity. For me since I'm very much a casual TF collector I'll happily move on from annoyed to a sit back and wait approach. If the designs suck then I won't buy them (like I skipped MP 1, 2, 3, 4 (I sold w out ever opening), 5, 6, 7 and 8. And if they suck hard enough we all know that Takara will revisit the designs again anyway. -b.- 16945 replies

Yep, my thoughts and understanding exactly. I don't know enough (or anything really) about any of the Transformer toy lines, I generally just collect what I think looks cool and/or is worth my time and money to buy. -b.- 16945 replies

Based on what they're saying, Hironori Kobayashi, the designer of MP-1 thru 10. I got the impression that the line-up was only announced and that no meaningful design work has been done. The designer of MP-11 to 19 is still doing Star Saber though. Those in the know can certainly correct me if I'm wrong. -b.- 16945 replies

Honestly Mr. March I think the boards can support intelligent conversations re: the subject matter presented in the movie or on most other relevant subjects (relevant to the interests of those on this board). Admittedly anyone participating would have to walk a fine line to keep from breaking any rules, but it could be done. I also admit that I've certainly participated in some contentious discussions about this, that or the other but I did so with a healthy respect for others opinions, even if I didn't agree with what, or how, they were being presented. And for the most part I feel that other members do as well. I've only watched Elysium once, but will do so again since I own the Blu ray. I wasn't offended by anything presented in the movie, whether it was the story, acting, effects, etc. and I'm kind of floored at the debates around the film - but in the fact that it's being discussed at all says to me that the movie made folks feel some sort of way. -b.
