  1. Really wish that Arcadia would re-visit this with more reasonably priced materials and fully assembled for those of us that don't have a single modeling bone in our bodies. Exclusive, limited-run, whatever - just make it happen for no more than the price of a v2 1/60 YF-19, VF-4 or SDF-1. -b.
  2. A few quick observations after some hands-on time, this is by far my favorite YF-29 (I have the Alto and 30th Anniversary releases). I think Bandai did an excellent job improving areas that needed to be worked on (namely the wings and rotating nacelles and the shield connection in Fighter mode) from previous releases. I agree that the canopy is very, rich, for lack of a better term - the blue is very dark. I don't mind the blue accents in the fold crystals (or whatever they're called) in contrast to the other purple parts. So far so good, glad that I was able to pick this up. -b.
  3. Amazing customs, I never get tired of looking at what folks are able to do with these toys. Gene, if you ever decide to sell more of your custom collection I've got my eye on both the Enigma and Minmay Guard! -b.
  4. All I can see is Captain Jack Sparrow saying abracadabra for two hours. Skeptical fan is skeptical. -b.
  5. The Marvel movie-verse has been a pretty good mix of regular and Ultimate continuities. Haven't read either on a regular basis in a few years so I don't know what the writing and/or casting on the Ant-Man movie says, but if it's more Ultimate universe then it's consistent with how Marvel has released the Iron Man to current movies. -b.
  6. The Max VF-1S was only released in 1/60 scale (version 2) by Yamato. The Max VF-1A was released in 1/48 (DYRL and limited TV) and 1/60 scale (versions 1 (DYRL) and 2 (DYRL and TV)) by Yamato. The Max VF-1J was released by Takatoku in 1/55 scale, in 1/48 scale and in 1/60 scale (versions 1 and 2) by Yamato. You should check out Jenius' blog at; http://anymoon.com/blog/ for a LOT of history and details on various toy releases. -b.
  7. ^ Thank you for coming back to post the original/higher resolution picture. IMHO this is actually the first time I've seen of any 29 Super Parts that I've actually liked and made me want to own a set. I think it's the color scheme that appeals to me (I guess). -b.
  8. Yup, thought it was entertaining enough. Nothing groundbreaking in the story, acting or effects department but worth a watch - especially if you need to fill the void left by the mid-season break of The Walking Dead. Just wish it wasn't on Friday night, just another something that ends up on the DVR that I will have to watch after the fact. -b.
  9. ^ You've got some options, eBay and Amazon being the least attractive of the bunch. You could; 1) Wait for Arcadia to release a bundled set or the Super/Strike Parts separately 2) Browse the For Sale Section in the forums here to see if anyone wants to sell 3) Browse sites like Anime-Export (http://www.anime-export.com/index?prdcttype=all) or Mandarake (http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/ (use マクロス to search for Macross items)) for second hand or old stock items 4) eBay 5) Amazon I would say have a little patience and keep an eye out for any official re-releases or good deals here on MW or on sites like the ones above. Good luck. -b.
  10. Pretty cool that we have a member that has an opportunity to work on projects like this, let alone have the availability (if this, that, or the other) to speak to the director and have conversations based on what's discussed on the forums. Hopefully you do get to speak with Guillermo and have a casual conversation about the film, his experiences and what a small sampling of average movie-goers had to say about the movie. -b.
  11. Re: pics. Macross World Member Custom Toy Gallery for some great examples of paint schemes listed already and not listed. Direct links to pictures I was able to find - although my preferred scale is the current 1/60 line please keep in mind that most if not all are in 1/48. Minmay Guard: Paris Act Minmay Guard: Moon I think a partnership with Hasegawa makes the most sense for Arcadia but I'd be open to purchase any non-canon scheme as long as it was aesthetically pleasing. -b.
  12. Sure. And 3A crossed my mine but I realized I didn't want to spend $ 1,000 on Gypsy Danger. -b.
  13. Cool, then that certainly supports that the Japanese market may have felt a certain way towards Pacific Rim compared to other markets. Still, that's too bad I think enough people would support a well designed, well put together releases from the movie to make it worth someones time and energy to put one out. -b.
  14. Will wait for the poll to add more; Minmay Guard: Paris Act Minmay Guard (Full Moon) Enigma Meteor Buster All of those would be automatic multiple purchases for me, on the VF-1 of course. I'm not that familiar with the non-standard paint schemes on other VF's but I'd take a few of those as well, especially on the newly redesigned YF-19. -b.
  15. Blah, blah politics. Where are the box-office numbers for Pacific Rim in Japan? That would be a more telling sign of how the movie was received in Japan. -b.
  16. Super fancy deluxe version of Transformers: The Movie Soundtrack available for sale on CD. -b.
  17. ^ Ha! I see what you did there. Hopefully this doesn't spoil it, but the answer to the question re: the mystery of Agent Coulson really is "yes/kinda" and "yes/kinda". -b.
