  1. Current city of Detroit resident here. Certainly a lot of economic issues, but nowhere near the original RoboCop level of depression. Re: the remake the story of why Omnicorp has created RoboCop . -b.
  2. ...just waiting on someone to post a link to these cheap/less expensive Bandai (we are talking about Bandai right?) Renewals on eBay. All the ones I see are, even at their least expensive prices, more than retail with certain models being listed for much higher. -b.
  3. District B13 remake in the form of Brick Mansions staring the late Paul Walker and David Belle (from the original); Enjoy! -b.
  4. No, honestly it could have been Anywhere, USA. -b.
  5. Agreed, I'm not a fan of parts swapping - just throwing ideas out there to see what might work. I'm not at all familiar with the 1/72 scale kits but if there's a solution there for Arcadia to look to then cool. -b.
  6. Re: the wing/knee possibility issue in Battroid, Arcadia could make the wings a bit smaller or provide wings that can be swapped from mode to mode. If Arcadia tries to remain anime and/or line-art accurate then there might not be too much that they can do. Pics courtesy of Sketchley's page here; http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/Stats/Statistics/VF0/VF0D.php -b.
  7. Agree very much with what most of what PetarB said (and with the shared observations with taksraven). I didn't mind Joel Kinnaman as Murphy/RoboCop. I thought Gary Oldman and to a much lesser degree Abbie Cornish provided the "heart and soul" of the script. Sam Mutherfukin Jackson was awesome as a parody of certain real world news personalities and I agree that he should not have been "bleeped" or "censored" - but hey. The shaky camera was truly an issue during the climatic fight at the end and it really took me out of the action for a moment. The weakest spot in the movie for me was the score, it just was not good and didn't do anything to enhance the scenes. A close second would be any of the antagonists, they were all pretty cardboard cut-out-ish. See it in theaters if you want an better than average action movie fix, but for those that are not very forgiving when movie watching or those looking to do a strong comparison to the original you might want to wait for a rental. -b.
  8. Sayin' - why mess with perfection? *I'm gonna stay out of this thread now, I'm past the point of sounding like a broken record -b.
  9. Just watched this on Blu-ray, after reading through this thread and some of the critique and comparisons with the book I'd have to agree with a lot of what's already been said (I haven't read the books, but good ole Wikipedia helped give me the rundown on the series). I kept thinking there was something missing to add a much needed emotional punch, one dealing with having children fight a war (virtual or otherwise) and with humanity facing annihilation. The movie made it seem to me as if we could defeat the Formics with, or without, gifted children. The ending was also very rushed, more time was needed to flesh out the reason for the Formic invasion of Earth and how Ender came to the major "reveal" would have really helped to round out the movie - IMHO. The movie wasn't bad, if anything I'd recommend it to people as a rental since the acting, effects and music, etc. were pretty good. Just needed a longer running time to flesh out some pretty important pieces the story. -b.
  10. No, no - sorry, I meant wrong thread for my comment. I'm sure you guys are golden with the pics you post. -b.
  11. ...can't wait to see some advanced prototype pictures and then (hopefully) the inevitable VF-0S and 0A version 2's. -b.
  12. *wrong thread -b.
  13. Dang, who knew that MacrossWorld was available as a username! And bad troll, bad. -b.
  14. Yeah, it was alright/so-so. Almost ended up HATING a major character a third of the way through the episode but thankfully that situation resolved itself by the end. And watching The Talking Dead is always good for some inside perspective. -b.
  15. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=40646 -b.
  16. Go for the 25A, sure the 25F is more iconic for being piloted by Alto but from a dollar value perspective you can't beat the much improved quality of the 25A release. And it's still fairly available at decent prices (from $ 130 to $ 160 + shipping). -b.
  17. So...uh Tornado Parts yet? 25S or 25G reissue? New design? Glad that Bandai is spacing these out, but I'm starting to feel some YF-29 fatigue. -b.
  18. Most likely just poor spell-checking/editing in a rush, or their attempt, to get the listing up. Or What CrazyDude said. -b.
