  1. Define "something". -b.
  2. Blah. They should call it Planet Bob. -b.
  3. Well at least he cried to his mommy...errr...Lois after. I was more traumatized by how many people in Metropolis must have died. I thought Prime was way more homicidal in Revenge of the Fallen, shooting Decepticons in the head while they were down and ripping faces off, but truly the only Transformer with a consistent personality throughout the first three movies was Bee. -b.
  4. Sold my v2 VF-11B a good while ago, and even though I don't think the design needs a total re-design like the YF-19 just received a tweak or two would be pretty cool. Tweaks that include fixes for whatever issues long-term owners have seen and some aesthetic stuff like larger stabilizers would be aces in my book. -b.
  5. ^Ha! I really hope that this movie is awesome - my expectations are pretty high and I think rightfully so from what's been shown but it'll be a huge freaking letdown if this movie isn't epic. -b.
  6. That's actually really well said. I usually try to set my expectations (high, low or indifference) accordingly and just enjoy the ride for what it is, but there was a lot of what you said that resonated with both my purely "adult" sensibilities as well as to those of my "the big kid/stay true to the dreams of my youth". Re: the toys, I would be a fan of the Revoltech line since for the live-action franchise I like the Bot mode more than just about all of the vehicles, but the figures are too small for my liking. That's why I really like the DMK line and wish that Takara would expand on it or even go the route of something like Metal Build for those of us with no model building skill whatsoever. I don't think I've ever actually purchased ANY transformable figure from Bay's movies. And as a "toy" guy that says a lot. -b.
  7. ^Nice! -b.
  8. Do it. (the G2 Sideswipe, but if you got Liefeld to draw you a pouch that would be epic) -b.
  9. Nice! Seriously every time I look at his pictures I want to go buy something. I've had his VF-4G pictures bookmarked forever and I still to this day pull them up and look/drool. This particular pose is one of my favorites - says "come get some"; -b.
  10. Not sure why I couldn't find a way to articulate this earlier, but personally I'd go with the Arcadia YF-19 over the Yamato 19 Double Nuts. Why? Because for me once there is a "new and improved" version of a thing I can't go back to the older one. Not unless (2) things, the first is if there's some nostalgic value or second if there's some collectible charm associated with the older variant. In either direction good luck with your purchase. As others have recommended HLJ is the safe bet, but when available that 18% discount sure is enticing at AmiAmi. -b.
  11. Re: the review, I will only reiterate that it's one persons experience and they choose how they want to structure their write up. If someone wants something different/better/inclusive of this, that or the other then they should take the time, take pictures and write it up themselves. Any given review is informative at best, if someone is going to make a decision based on what others have to say then do some more research and find multiple view points. Re: prices, per HLJ; Yamato YF-19 w Fast Packs: 22,800 JPY Yamato YF-19 w/out Fast Packs: 18,800 JPY Yamato YF-19 Fold Booster & Fast Packs: 5,800 JPY Arcadia YF-19 w Fast Packs: 32,800 JPY Those are prices w/ out discounts. Personally I'm OK with the $ 100 or increase in price for the improvements over the previous version (not to mention in increased costs in development, production, etc.) but everyone places their own premium on their cash and the perceived value and that is perfectly fine. -b.
  12. Would love, love, love, love, love Masterpiece Hound, Iron Hide, Ratchet, Sunstreaker, Jazz, Springer, Kup, Blurr, etc. It looks like I'm more forgiving of MP Hot Rod because I don't think it was terribly terrible, it just needed a tweak here or there. That said I would not be opposed to a new and improved version. In unrelated Masterpiece news/wish lists, I present to you Rob Liefeld and an illustration showing that he still sucks; That's a variant cover from the upcoming Transformers vs GI Joe published by IDW. -b.
  13. Very cool - I'm glad that you like the copy you have. By that same reasoning, if someone writing a review "liked" their copy and found nothing wrong worth noting in their write up then why a bone to pick? (that's rhetorical) People can, and usually do, write about their own experience. If the reviewer wants to go back in a month, two months, two years, etc. down the line and add that a substantial sampling size of people have had "blah, blah, blah" feedback, good or bad, then he or she could do that but it's pretty clear that it was written from first hand knowledge of the product they have in-hand. -b.
  14. Robotech on Mandarake (sold); http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-1618032.html -b.
  15. LowViz, apologies if you've stated in any of your previous posts, but do you own, or plan to own Arcadia's YF-19? -b.
  16. No, the '98 Godzilla looked okay. For me the association with that horrible, horrible movie is too much to overcome. Plus in that comparison shot above he looks like he's grinning this wicked rape sloth smile (if you're not familiar, Google, too many NSFW pics for me to try and find one to post). + what Dangard Ace just posted -b.
  17. Don't worry dude, dollars to donuts more pre-orders will be available between now and release, and available (prob in small quantity) at release. -b.
  18. "space-brick" - I'm in the "don't care one way or the other" about Star Saber, I am however interested to see some progress on Ultra Magnus. -b.
  19. Agreed - those are beautiful shots. The 25A came with the same color gunpod as the 25S, but I certainly agree, I wish they all came in that metallic gunmetal grey too. -b.
  20. Yeah, I remember reading something about the studio wanting to link Fantastic Four with X-Men, and that would actually be pretty cool if done right. There is history between the two franchises in the comics that could be explored. And agree, if Marvel had all their properties in-house my head would explode from the collective awesomeness. Instead it's A-grade with Marvel/Disney and B/C-grade with everyone else. -b.
  21. Well...re: the ankles the Bandai Renewal's on all of mine, including Valks that have turned into literal piles of floppy plastic and metal are rock solid. I've got a first run Renewal VF-25F right in front of me as I type this and while most of the joints (especially the shoulders and hips) have loosened the ankles are rock solid. On topic re: the Arcadia YF-19, the review IS fine. It's the reviewers opinion or experience with his copy/copies - not the one that landed at your house. -b.
