  1. Comparisons of everything against everything else are funny. Why not compare this to Monsters which was also directed by Gareth Edwards? Re: Cloverfield, I hated all the characters and couldn't wait for them to get squashed or eaten (except Hud the camera guy, he was hilarious). Re: Kick-Ass, called that one earlier. But it wasn't his acting that made me raise an eyebrow, it was how indestructible he was. -b.
  2. Yeah, backing up what David is saying a few folks, even those that were initially skeptical like myself saw. I have both the Arcadia Roy and Hikaru VF-1S's and they have that pink hue. Granted it (IMO) wasn't as pronounced as shown in the picture above, but definitely there. -b.
  3. Not at all, Superman only has to compete with Captain America from a "moral" stand-point. Batman can be the anti-hero or even some other random DC character. -b.
  4. It's a little more noticeable in some pictures vs. others (do I need to say that they're still very nice shots? ) but I think that lighting could be playing a big factor in that. I'm kind of excited for mine to arrive since these are the only Super Parts I've ordered for a 29 variant. -b.
  5. That's not necessarily true, if the shop stops or reduces orders for Arcadia's products because they have Yamato/Arcadia merchandise warming the shelf, well then... Re: this release, I really hope that it's priced competitively so that people are enticed to buy - especially if there is an expectation that folks will double-dip. -b.
  6. Agreed, this one is my favorite of the bunch; But they are all very nice shots. -b.
  7. You were supposed to say "bah weep grana weep ninny bon". BTW, Made tons of purchases today - just so happens that none were Macross. -b.
  8. So as cool as obscure Valks are, I'm gonna have to vote a "No" on this one. -b.
  9. Need Starbucks first... That and I've honestly been trying to decide which Valk to nag you about. -b.
  10. And behind door number TWO... I'd take the cash or discount too, especially if you don't really care about the Fast Packs. -b.
  11. LOL - that's how I feel too about trying to modify or build a kit. -b.
  12. Bow to the King of Deals, Lord of Second-hand Macross Collecting. -b.
  13. Not a fan of the lime green Prime, maybe better pictures would change my mind. All these repaints, I'm just happy they're going to get around to re-issuing the original. -b.
  14. Regarding continuity and historical accuracy unless I know what is being said is verified I take 99% of whatever is in a "blockbuster" and throw it out the window, sometimes it's hard enough to suspend disbelief with the action that's going on but when you try to add factoids to the mix...no. thank. you. But hey, this is Hollywood. -b.
  15. ...such a feeling. Can't wait to see some more progress pics! -b.
  16. Yeah, that's a really good point. I also don't see Arcadia taking this type of risk so soon. Maybe if Macross the First was wildly popular or if Arcadia saw very strong sales from other projects they'd be apt to give this a go. But as it stands...loooooonnnnnggggg shot. -b.
  17. Right? Inquiring minds want to know. There were so many good things on Mandarake, that VF-1S Roy, a No-Painting 1S, that GBPS, (2) Max Factory Sheryl a 25F...and I missed out on all of them. -b.

    1/48 dead?

Right! Would have loved Fast Packs for the Low Viz VF-1S Focker and if I owned a VF-1A Cavaliers for that as well. In 1/48th scale for either Low Viz would make me drool. -b.
  19. Sony will push anything to a new media format if it sells more TV's, PS-Whatevers or a Disc of some sort. Re: CGI - yeah, funny how advances in technology changes ones perspective. 20 years from now people will say how the CG have aged in the '14 version of the film. -b.
  20. ^Nope, mine is EMS and shipped yesterday. And yes, I agree. First paid, first shipped should be the way orders are handled. -b.

    1/48 dead?

Price - they're relatively inexpensive. Anywhere from $ 100 to $ 200 gets you a 1/48 on Mandarake - this includes a Hikaru VF-1S or Low Viz v1. The most expensive one that I saw was a Chronicle Exclusive VF-1A. And people still have a soft spot for them. -b.

    1/48 dead?

Was thinking of all of these "size" related things to say (in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way) but as I went thru them in my head I realized they were all very, very, very inappropriate. I will say that if Arcadia were to do a revamped 1/48 and do some non-cannon schemes like members have customized (Minmay Guards, Blue Roses, Black Aces, etc.) then I'd eat all crow and buy in a heartbeat. I guess it's easy to say what I would or wouldn't buy without knowing details like price, but some popular non-cannon schemes would be hard to pass up. -b.
  23. Ah, sorry I didn't give you credit. It's a good theory but that still sucks for those that pay first, or even way ahead of time to have to either wait, or read about how everyone else is getting their stuffed shipped. -b.
