    Ah Grimlock, still causing mini-drama on the boards... I really should look at getting some Masterpiece Decepticons, I sold my 1st Edition Starscream and non-orange plug Megatron years ago. But I think I may get a Soundwave to get things started again. -b.

    Yeah, but the stuff that's being purchased (I'm thinking mostly of VF-1 variants) in the aftermarket is higher than even Arcadia's VF-1S MSRP. I'm just hoping for an announcement of any re-release to start driving aftermarket prices down. I honestly think (and hope) the new VF-19 will do OK to well for Arcadia since there's a decent M7 following. -b.

    Disagree with that last part as you have plenty of Transformers that are supposed to have 3 distinct modes, but it's not really an apples to apples comparison. I think it's the PURPOSE of Gerwalk that differentiates Macross Valkyries from other transformable mecha/robots. -b.

    @anime52k8, no Whirls are not at all rare. Like Treatment said they are all over the place, I've seen them at every Toys R Us, Target and other stores that I've walked into. -b.

    ^ Great Transformers vs. Macross again, what did someone say in another thread..."it's like trying to argue boobs"? I own exactly (1) 30th Anniversary VF-1J which I proudly display in it's box in my Detolf as a backdrop to the other Valks I have on that shelf. I may be tempted to pick up another as a just-in-case buy but I doubt it. -b.

    Yep, the Angel Bird, another in a line of Valks (1/60 v2) I wish I hadn't passed on at the time. Too bad there isn't anything much out that I'm interested in buying or else I'd love to take advantage of this latest HLJ sale. Oh well... -b.

    Sure, I'll bite. As much as I feel loyalty to the original Star Trek because that was what I grew up with and was my gateway into Sci-Fi (thank you for letting me watch and watching with me Mom!) the franchise had grown beyond stale. Despite a few issues with Abrams Star Trek that was a good movie, lens flare and all. I won't argue Into Darkness because that was just a tad more 'lopsided' but certainly not worst Science Fiction of All Time material, I mean, I'd throw Star Trek: The Final Frontier in here before that. Hands down you are one of the funniest people on this forum. The only 'good' prequel movie was Revenge of the Sith and that was because it was far less horrible than the first two that shall not be named prequels. -b.

    ^Hey JBO, did you mean to put this in the Transformers thread? And I keep hearing about how Whirl is an awesome character in the comics but for some reason I can't convince myself to pick him up every time I see him on the shelves. -b.

    Ok, if it was/is an e-HOBBY or other exclusive then I can see an increase in price still not the jump it's being re-listed for. And just to confirm, the Takara Tomy MP-08 had a MSRP of 13,000 JPY. All of that said you hit the nail on the head with what it's worth to someone personally. -b.

    So, dumb question(s) here. Why exactly would King Grimlock the Blue and Blingy have an MSRP of more than 2 1/2* that of the domestic Hasbro release/is the crown solid 24K Gold? -b.
