Even MORE remake madness.......
Kanedas Bike replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
As much as the sequels sucked, I'm not a fan of franchises saying these specific entries "don't count". Highlander is a great example of a cult classic that did that an it's continuity and legacy as a property is a hot-jumbled mess. And for the love of, not the same plot - if that were the case then it's a reboot. They didn't say they were rebooting or remaking the sequels though did they? They said they're planning to reboot the original. Movies don't have to be Citizen Kane, The Shawshank Redemption or whatever ones personal equivalent is to be good films. Or cult classics. Or genre bending. Or original. Or, or or. Some movies are good standing on their own merits, IMHO Predator is one, similar to Alien (since you mention it) and Aliens. Quiet you! 100% agree with your comments on the original. I'm not a writer as honestly I'm just not that creative in that way, and there's nothing wrong with tackling the property, just do it write and get off of the damn "reboot" bandwagon. It's only because so many of these remakes or reboots have been sub-par comparative to their originals AND what's come out that's new, that this re-whatever sh!t has overstayed it's welcome. Just sayin' -b. -

A lot. Predator was actually pretty good, McTiernan has/had a great filmography as a Director and Predator is up there with the best of them. -b. -

That waist articulation looks amazing, I just really hope that it's designed in such a way that it doesn't loosen over time. I'm not going to lie, if Bandai had started with that first Battroid firing pose I'd probably have placed a pre-order at below, at or above retail (well, within reason ). -b.

You mean not available "again"? It's been pretty available (HLJ yesterday for hours), relative to other DX releases. -b.

The listing is still there, just as Discontinued as 99% of any other Bandai DX Frontier Valks. http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN985605/Sci For those still looking, I'd watch the usual places for the next few days (AmiAmi, Hobby Search, HLJ) along with Mandarake. My thought is it'll pop up at a reasonable price provided the listing goes up before (or if) word-of-mouth labels this as "must-have" item. -b.

Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices
Kanedas Bike replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
Pretty sure I've purchased Sealed, A and B graded items from Jungle and never had an issue. That said, I'm the type of collector that tends to gravitate towards Sealed or as close to new as possible. Their service fee is a tad irritating, but as Gakken said it's not too bad and it beats the potential stress of an auction. -b. -

F'it, I'm gonna get (2) of Space Brick. I've bought (2) of just about every other recent Masterpiece release. If I end up liking it then great, I've got one. If not I can join the other "entrepreneurial souls" and sell them on eBay or something. -b.- 16946 replies

Ah man - I really want to take the challenge. I may see if I can sit through a viewing, you're not the first or only person to say this movie was horribly horrible. -b.

Went to sleep and passed on the YF-25 from HLJ, I have (3) coming - shipping confirmations from N-Y and AmiAmi came overnight. @Duymon, I'd say keep the blue crotch (ha ha ha) - it looks better than with the same part from Alto's VF-25. -b.

Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices
Kanedas Bike replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
Yeah, Jungle and their fees can be annoying at times but I've purchased from them many times in the past (one was actually a VF-4G that it ended up selling here on the boards) and have found some really good deals, despite their service charge and shipping. BTW; http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-1650914.html DX YF-29 Ozma for 25,000 JPY (opened) -b. -
^Well, I dunno - that trailer was pretty funny. Is there something wrong with me? -b.

Truly I have no need for another, but I swear the longer HLJ has this up the more tempted I am. It's liking having extra food around, you already ate and are full, but that extra pizza (or whatever) is just sitting there... -b.

Ha. It has to do with the post reddsun1 made, but I'll edit it out! -b. -
Sure would be nice if other Bandai Macross Frontier DX releases stayed available on sites like HLJ this long... -b.

Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices
Kanedas Bike replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
Ya know, I was just sitting here b!tching to myself about that price on the DX YF-29 Ozma so for kicks I decided to remind myself what the SRP was, it was 17,000 JPY. And then again for kicks I checked what it was on Yamato's VF-4G. It was 25,700 JPY, meaning I just paid 20,000 JPY over retail. Collecting Macross is a painful, PAINFUL hobby. -b. -
Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices
Kanedas Bike replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
Thank you! I know that I shouldn't have pulled the trigger, but it was just sitting there. Calling my name. I'd need more for that. The original one I bought is staying locked away but one of the second two might see Battroid at some point. If I do a 4G for each mode then I need one more. -b. -

So true. Another VF-4G Funny thing is that it shipped before any of my YF-25's -b.
