Yeah, had a similar issue with the one that I opened. Also the right shoulder is a bit loose when trying to hold a pose and/or the gunpod. Not really a big deal, but certainly not as solid as the VF-25a's I've opened. And hands-down I love the Battroid mode more than Fighter on the YF-25. -b.

Ha! Thank you very much, purchased with the proceeds from the piggy bank I started at age 6. Agree, the VF-1J Cannon Fodder was one of Yamato's best VF-1 releases in my opinion. I wish I'd picked up more than (1) when it came out. Been thinking about this, and I swear I'm not trying to throw any shade on your purchase - I think it was a good buy. That said I don't think an Arcadia Max and/or Miria VF-1J with Super Parts will be that much (heck, the originals retailed for 12,800 JPY). I think (read hope) at the most they will be around 22,000 JPY. Arcadia retail for the the VF-1S's: 16,800 JPY (Yamato was 9,800 JPY) - the difference in cost being attributed to the stand and option parts (craziness) Yamato retail for the TV Super Parts: 3,800 JPY Yamato retail for the Stand: 3,900 JPY At any rate, again a good buy Gakken. I hope that if/when Arcadia re-releases any bundled fast pack versions they don't go crazy pricing them. -b.

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next

Agree, but still, butt flap. Really wonder if that's a mis-transformation, some byproduct of the resin prototype or how he will actually look. -b.- 16946 replies

Ha! But what about lucky number 7? -b.

Just a couple of very quick observations; First, I absolutely love the amount of printing on this Valk, I think Bandai did a great job. Second, I absolutely hate the big bubble canopy. The nosecone is the same length as the DX 25's, but the canopy has a larger, more rounded structure. And I don't like it. A very, very minor nitpick - but i can't un-see it now. Going to transform the one I've opened to Battroid and probably leave it in that mode. -b.

Hey! I debated "expectations" with these movies the last go-round I think. For me it's kind of like watching a train-wreck filled with toys and characters I liked as kid and I'm personally able to glean some enjoyment from that. These movies are BIG, and DUMB, and cool-looking and if you can turn off a huge portion of your brain you might have some fun. For me Revenge of the Fallen failed because there was too much for me to ignore and it p!ssed me off, Dark of the Moon was "better" at the things I didn't like in Fallen. Age of Extinction had tons of WTF moments involving story, plot, character behavior (won't say development because there wasn't much of that, however there was some - Stanley Tucci's character) but I was able to make it through the 3 hour run time without wanting to punch a small animal when I left, so with that crazy scale of expectations, I thought it was Ok. -b.

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
Kanedas Bike replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Meh, I thoroughly enjoyed Pacific Room and I'm quite a bit older than a 10 year old. Maybe one has to have a certain level of immaturity to prescribe to that theory. It's a similar enough plot point across a lot of action/drama/sci-fi fiction, where that analogy loses steam with me is the "training school"/"best of the best" aspect of Top Gun, which Pacific Rim was none of. Excited for the prospect of another film and more media, it took balls for Guillermo to move forward with the project to begin with and even more so to keep going after the 'mixed' reaction to the first. -b.- 1206 replies

Looking good! The one thing I did when I started using Detolf cabinets (or with any mostly glass cabinet) is added Macross art books and a few Macross figures to add 'accent' and color to the display. Granted I had/have more room because I'm displaying 1/60 scale Valks, but an art book or two would really add something to your cabinets, IMHO. -b.

So is demand dieing down for this on the secondary market? There is one available, that's been available since early this morning (EST) and I've been out of the house all day to check and see that low and behold it's still there. Interesting. -b.

Not at all, I'm not talking about their relative intelligence. Just seems like a missed opportunity. -b.

Right! Instincts on point... And you may be right, it was definitely "better" than that POS Revenge of the Fallen and I could see the argument for it being better than Dark of the Moon, but I'm not quite there yet. One thing I don't see being touched on, as the previous movies were very Bumblebee-centric, this one was undoubtedly Prime's movie. There are some things that I need to reconcile in order to have a determination on which was "better"; So yeah, better than ROTF, but again, which ugly girl is hotter. -b.

Meh, kit for this = pass. And as someone said, (5) of these and you might as well just buy the 1/3000 Yamato fully assembled SDF-1. -b.
-
Ha, you're just calling it as you see it and probably very accurately too. I have NO illusions about what I'm walking into, it's very masochistic of me but they had my money ever since I first saw Prime riding Grimlock. It's just too funny/dumb a spectacle for me to pass up, everything else will just be icing on the cake. -b.

^Figured that's what you meant, but there's a difference between something being available for order and being in stock. Just had to give you a hard time. -b.
-
Best guess, I think shops selling this end them as Bandai closes the pre-order window. The date may be on the Tamashii Nation website. -b.
-
C'mon, you know Bee liked it. Although, you rank RoTF above Transformers...ewww. Granted it's like arguing over which ugly girl is hotter. Zing! Emergencies or any other melodrama notwithstanding I'm probably gonna check this out today. But 3 hours, damn. -b.

My first YF-25 arrived yesterday from AmiAmi, but I'm resisting the urge to open it until the two I ordered from 'another' store show up. Call it a weird mix of OCD and paranoia that I can't open one of a 'thing' until I have all of them. Until then I'll just keep looking at everyone's pics. -b.

That has Luca's RVF-171 in stock? Well that extra cost must be to cover time travel expenses for their trip to the future to get it. -b.

Kanedas Bike replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
Wish I'd seen that, I would have ordered (3) just to have them. -b. -
Yeah, that's rather scary. Going to try and check this out tomorrow, but it all depends on what real life has in store for my Friday. All good! I went to look it up just in case there was some change or crazy distribution rights thing. -b.
