Saw this earlier today, thought it was amazing for all of the reasons stated above. I enjoyed Rise of the Planet of the Apes (despite Franco ) and Dawn was that much better. Cannot wait to own this on Blu ray. -b.

Avengers: Age of Ultron, in theaters May 1, 2015
Kanedas Bike replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Good to see some more pictures from the movie, although I'm fairly irritated that Stark is wearing what looks like Mark 42 armor, just with more red than gold. Re: Ultron I'm sure the upcoming Ant-Man movie will play a role in his creation and/or Avengers: Age of Ultron. -b.- 398 replies

Arcadia 1/60 YF-19 Macross Frontier Super Parts WF Exclusive By T-Rex
Kanedas Bike replied to EXO's topic in Toys
Oh for the love of... The pics that technoblue posted, along with the screen capture that jvmacross posted show how the the 25 super parts fit on the YF-19, TREX has it exactly as shown in the animation, the only thing they'd need is an SMS sticker to cover the UN Spacy kite. The gap is NOT the space designed to allow the wings to fit into the parts, the gap is the how far those parts are down, or closer to the edge of the wing versus being closer to the actual fighter. Super Parts closer to the kite = Wrong. Super Parts closer to the body of the fighter = Correct. Just because a certain member wants to throw yet another tantrum because people don't agree with him doesn't change that. And if folks are good with the Bandai parts on their Arcadia YF-19 then seriously, more power to y'all. I'd rather have parts designed for the toy, otherwise I'll just go without and be equally content. -b. -
The Comic Book thread
Kanedas Bike replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Re: Pepper P. and Iron Man, they've done that. She was known as Rescue or something or another. While she didn't supplant Tony Stark she did rock the a set of armor for a bit. Re: the rationale behind the "one-true" Thor, maybe they're approaching it as "Thor" is a title that goes along with God of Thunder or something. Who knows, guess one would have to wait for the comic to come out to get a clear understanding of what Marvel is doing with the character. -b.- 557 replies

Questions about Arcadia YF-19 and VF-1 1/60 Scale Toys
Kanedas Bike replied to Mr March's topic in Toys
Yep (as already answered). I have two of them and there are no issues - they're currently displayed in Battroid mode. Honestly I think it's one of the more underrated Yamato releases. This. Even though I don't always agree with Mommar ( ) I give major props for him always being very unbiased in his critique of any given release. -b. -
The Comic Book thread
Kanedas Bike replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well yeah, anyone reading comics long enough knows how publishers do this type of stuff in a very cyclical nature. And now that there are Movie and Television considerations there may be a change back to a dude before too long. Although, Marvel may have the stones to keep this going. It will all depend on sales of the comic. Never read Earth X but Loki sure does pull off some funny stuff. Hey, I think it might be cool if it was her! That said, I was kinda hyped to go and get the Age of Ultron book and all of the variant covers where they introduced Angela into the Marvel U, but then I realized there were Valks to buy... LOL, well now you know buddy! Saw that on Yahoo! News the other day, apparently Archie will still be around in the syndicated (or whatever) comic strips. -b.- 557 replies

Kanedas Bike replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
My first guess is that the new Thor is actually Angela, who was recently brought over from Image/Spawn to Marvel comics - who is/was revealed to be Thor and Loki's sister (gotta love how convoluted comics get); http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angela_%28comics%29 http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=52437 If nothing else this gives me a reason to show up in a comic book store and buy a 1st issue of something. -b.- 557 replies

Questions about Arcadia YF-19 and VF-1 1/60 Scale Toys
Kanedas Bike replied to Mr March's topic in Toys
Well, welcome back to the world of Macross toy collecting. Those are a lot of loaded questions, but I know you'll get some really good answers. A good resource for you to start is at Jenius' site; http://www.anymoon.com/blog/ You can get a good handle on most of Yamato's VF-1 offerings which are essentially the same as Arcadia's VF-1 offers, notable exceptions being a few small cosmetic changes in paint applications, tint/coloration of certain plastic parts and included accessories. The Arcadia YF-19 is the best iteration of the YF-19 from Macross Plus to date but Mommar and Scyla did a good job articulating (as I type my reply) some of the concerns owners have had (granted on the copy I've opened I haven't seen those issues straight out of the box, so your mileage can and may vary). Which can at this moment still be ordered at AmiAmi (status of Backorder); http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-002551&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_cate3%3D986%24s_keywords%3DMacross%24pagemax%3D20%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D2 Good luck!!! -b. -

Arcadia 1/60 YF-19 Macross Frontier Super Parts WF Exclusive By T-Rex
Kanedas Bike replied to EXO's topic in Toys
QFT And I'm firmly in the "Bandai Super Parts" on the Arcadia YF-19 are not attractive/acceptable solution or work-around. They just don't look good, and look way too forced with that huge ugly gap. -b. -
LOL! It's all good, for the most part people here don't intentionally flip items, so if someone can get pre-order(s) for 5 of an item then I say more power to them. And hell, if they're selling them on the boards at cost then they get a +1 in my book. So someone sell me a YF-30 for what you paid at HLJ. -b.

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
Kanedas Bike replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
Eureka! And for all of the dust that gets kicked up before a release, what percentage of stuff actually is an issue in final production? Probably very small if one were to actually count up ALL the nits that were picked across various manufacturers and releases. Re: the YF-19, nobody complained about broken wings and the difficulty some had with getting the cockpit to align perfectly or the pain-in-the-ass fast packs, but there they were. If folks want to argue the color, or hue, of blue from a blurry picture on Twitter 6 to 7 months before release they have as much right as I do to complain about their complaining. And hate to break it to you fellas, nothing is or ever will be perfect. The cost of doing business I suppose... -b. -
This, I'd like to be able to order at HLJ-type prices. -b.

So...yeah, my 25F should be here tomorrow, it'll be an extra copy staying forever in it's box. w00t! -b.

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
Kanedas Bike replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
^^^HA HA HA HA HA!!! But I'd totally buy a blurred toy, that thing would be awesome to display and even awesome-r to try and photography clearly. Me. Too. But then again, I guess we must have something to pick a nit over, if it's not color it's price, if it's not price is packaging, if it's not packaging it's why it wasn't released on someone's birthday. -b. -

LOL - did Bay put that together or did someone complaining about Bay while doing what Bay does (loose or lack of continuity) put that montage together? And it wasn't really a complaint, more of a critique. I think that the clip would have been significantly better had they put the fights in chronological order. Anyway, was feeling masochistic the other day and saw AoE again. While it's still a typical Bay Transformers film I actually liked it more after the 2nd viewing (plot holes and assorted ridiculousness notwithstanding). -b.

Those joints better not, they're holding up damn well on the 25A that I have in Battroid mode. Other 25 Renewals (looking at you very first release 25F and especially Alto 29) have had some looseness over time but my hope and thought is the 25A and YF-25 will do much better. I have faith in the YF-25 to hold up well. And see, that's why I refuse to transform my Arcadia YF-19!!!! And yes, yes we are. Even if to be fair, some releases, varying across item and manufacturer are very safe to transform while others are not. -b.

So tempting! -b.

Ah yes, and the 1/48 Thunder Hummer kit. Very, very nice. Those are from a custom kit that a few (or one) members here made for both 1/48 and 1/60th scale VF-1's. Jorawar B, EXO or a few other members can fill in the blanks (too lazy to look up the original threads right now). -b.
