  1. Nobody's perfect Reading up on the comic I'm reminded about Garth Ennis, without really knowing him/reading interviews/etc. I could easily accuse him of some having some pretty horrible ideology. Instead I just go with the theory that he enjoys putting up a mirror to humanity and showing us how truly flawed and terrible we can/could be. I actually did laugh at that particular roof scene, a lot - I blame growing up with Looney Toons and how that type of 'physical' humor was the thing. I'm surprised Homelander didn't toss him into the air. Brightburn, Brightburn, Brightburn - sigh, really liked the premise, but the execution left me...wanting. Hard to argue, my feeling sorry for the kid quickly gave way to HATING how stupid the parents were. -b.
  2. Community input for the win! Mostly the same for me, it was Robotech on TV before and after school as a kid, then as a teen/tween, Akira, Clash of the Bionoids (ha), Ninja Scroll, Macross Plus and then just reading up on Macross on these forums. Makes sense, for just a little bit of screen time the bike did get have it's time to shine in action, and as a plot device. Those pics... The Hot Show TRON Light Cycle would be displayed in my home minus the Sam Flynn rider it came with, but she's nowhere near as iconic as Kanedas's Bike. And Jealously intensifies lol -b.
  3. For sure, I get it as well to curb people from doing the free or discounted trial membership. BUT Those folks can simply wait until the series has been released and do that anyway. With this model all they're doing is annoying the impatient among the current subscriber base. It made sense for Disney + to do that for Mandalorian since that was at or just after the launch of a new service. For established services like Amazon Prime where your base is mostly locked in anyway, I feel like the effort to mitigate risk is wasted. But blah, it's not likely to change, if anything it's going to become more and more prevalent. The thought of which truly annoys me. If they're going to behave like network or cable television, then just license the content and be done with it. But I digress. The Boys is a really fun ride. -b.
  4. Please do post pics! From what I was able to find prepping a response to this thread that thing looks bad ass. Bandai Soul of Popynica PX-03 isn't bad, there's some assembly out of the box (by design) and over the years mine has gotten a little loose for lack of a better term. It doesn't fall apart or anything but every so often I have to disassemble and then re-assemble to get parts, especially the front wheel, nice and tight again. Aftermarket prices have gotten a little nuts and it's hard to recommend buying it for the prices I've seen lately. -b.
  5. Honestly thought you were saying that on purpose. I read some of the wiki for the comics and well... In any event the first three episodes were great. I’m legitimately pissed at this weekly release schedule the streaming services are going to, I want to binge the entire season now. Now. Now. Now. -b.
  6. Imagine having $120K allocated purely for “toys”. What a great dilemma that would be. Totally forgot about McFarlane toys, it looks good. -b.
  7. Looks pretty darn good, good luck! -b.
  8. You’ve got one? I’m insanely jealous! That said, I think @peter just won the thread. -b.
  9. Gonna have to say this - wish I had it in my collection; https://www.hlj.com/1-6-scale-project-bm-soul-of-popynica-kaneda-s-bike-ban952780 http://akira-movie.blogspot.com/2014/04/akira-kaneda-bike-in-16-by-project-bm-x.html There weren't that many Akira toys released so the choices are a little limited. There is a smaller, more readily found Bandai PX-03 bike that's not bad. I do have that one and the biggest flaw is the add face sculpt (the eyes) on Kaneda. -b.
  10. Have to agree. But I did watch it on HBO during a lazy Tuesday evening the other day. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I mean, it wasn't good, but it wasn't THAT bad. I'm looking for to No Time to Die, Skyfall has been my favorite Craig Bond fond movie so if this comes close then I'll be happy. -b.
  11. Thank you thank you! Funny enough it was like 7:30 PM when I was at Target. I knew it was a long shot and that like you said most "finds" have to happen in the morning so I know that I got extra lucky. -b.
  12. Today was only the 2nd time I’ve actually seen any of this like in a Target. The first time was a regular wave 1 Roadblock and today I saw the exclusive Roadblock and a blue eyed Beach Head (which I bought). No Cobra Trooper or Baroness to be found. -b.
  13. Finished the first 3 episodes (everything released so far). So far so good, and definitely textbook Ridley androids. There is more story than action and I agree the pacing is just fine. -b.
  14. It was pretty good. Ridley sure does love his Androids that are 1/2 I love you and will serve you dutifully and 1/2 I'll F'ING KILL you. -b.
  15. This is exactly why this hits me so hard. For little kids in my community Black Panther was THE hero because he was relatable and representative. Sure you have Blade and Jon Stewart's Green Lantern and a few others, but none have achieved pop culture status like Marvel's Black Panther. Even people I know that could care absolutely less about comic book movies, action adventure or science fiction in general gravitated towards Black Panther. I almost got disowned by some family members for arguing that the Winter Soldier was a better comic book movie (I mean, it is) but for them BP was the first major movie that showed us as more than what you normally see on TV or the big screen. I know that the character will continue, for a number of reasons least of all being the box office draw (movie making is a business after all) but given everything happening THIS year Chadwick's loss has a particular sting. I hope that as a person and movie hero he has a long lasting, positive legacy. -b.
  16. I still may check out S2 and the Anime short at some point in time, I really enjoyed S1 so I'll be sure to temper my expectations accordingly. -b.
  17. Yes to The Expanse. The Good Place...ehhhhh, maybe, probably not, but maybe-ish. -b.
  18. BBTS has Mastermind Creations Reformatted Optus Pexus up for pre-order. I'd have to guess other stores do as well; https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/133770 -b. *edit to add, he doesn't look as good in the front profile shots as he does in that action pose. IMHO
  19. You're not the only one that expressed sentiments like that, for sure that's why I wasn't in a rush to watch S2. I've got some time off of work coming up and it wasn't even on my list of shows to catch up on (in no particular order, Locke and Key, Dark (all episodes), Clone Wars, Jack Ryan S2 all come to mind). -b.
  20. So I had to Google "uncanny valley" because I'd never heard of that before. That's interesting and it absolutely sounds super weird. Maybe one day you'll be able to give them another go, I don't necessarily recommend the first because Franco annoys the hell out of me for some reason, but the continuity is pretty tight across the trilogy worth a watch if you want something that is both respectful of, but improves the Heston film (first and only good one). Big step indeed, however I think Reeves is going to kill it. He did say that he was a fan of Synder's Batman as a take on the character that hadn't before been seen on the big screen. And with that I agree. One could be a cynic and say that Reeves only gave the support because he's apart of the machine now and has to, but I think he was being genuine in his praise. Dark and funny at the same time. Joker, is that you? -b.
  21. For sure kind of a bummer, but I contributed by not yet having watched Season 2. Sorry y'all. -b.
  22. Surprised this didn't get posted already. Have to admit I'm much more interested after seeing the second trailer; -b.
