Deadpool, on DVD/Blu-Ray May 10, 2016
Kanedas Bike replied to miles316's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ha ha ha, right? Well hopefully they don't use him (he's got a credit for an "announced" Deadpool movie on iMDb, but that could change if the project gets off of the ground). Blade Trinity X-Men Origins: Wolverine Green Lantern All horrible, horrible movies, comic book or otherwise (and I didn't even see GL). -b. -
^No Destroids. Sounds like a project or two for our residential model makers to gauge interest in/tackle (if they were so inclined). -b.

Not even going to take the chance of speculating on pre-order availability or availability in general. And I'll be staying up...need to make sure I have sufficient quantities of caffeine. -b.

Yep, still pretty sweet after a second viewing. The question is whether or not Fox or whomever would have the stones to make a movie in the same vein as that test footage. -b. -
Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices

same I absolutely love buying from Mandarake. -b. -
Well, I guess the good news here is still that a new Mass Effect game is in the works. It's hard to let go of a character that you've played over (3) games and multiple upon multiple re-plays but I am happy to move past Shepard and onto a new central character. Hopefully the returning characters are the more interesting ones and not damn Ashley or Kaiden. And to Knight26's point, it had better play the same as the original Mass Effect trilogy. -b.

Went and saw this earlier today, it was, well, it was an "OK" movie, and flawed premise or not it certainly could/should have been better. Anyone who enjoys the visual styling or is just a fan of Luc Besson's would appreciate the look of this movie. I thought Scarlett J. acted well for the most part, there were a few bits were I thought she over-acted the whole "savant/I'm discovering a whole new realm bit" but overall I thought she and the other actors did a good enough job. Won't get into a debate about the root premise of the film, but it was an interesting take on meta-abilities and the ability to control or influence time, matter, and forms of energy - regardless of whether that was caused by unlocking some untapped human potential or via other means. Anyone on the fence should wait for Netflix or a rental, anyone who already thinks this movie is dumb will absolutely feel re-affirmed and should either (1) never watch it, or (2) wait for it to come on cable or network TV. 6.5/10 -b.

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next
Kanedas Bike replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So...yeah. Space Brick absolutely looks like the illegitimate child of a Gundam and Legioss/Tread. And I'm gonna order (2 or more) just so I can turn around and sell one to Gakken (and Gakken only) for a ridiculously over-inflated price in a few years. -b.- 16946 replies

Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices
Kanedas Bike replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
Still, for the price it's a good buy. I've got a set of 25S Super Parts as well that I'd never bothered to open. Didn't realize there was a different paint used on the thrusters until now. -b. -
Ditto ditto That said, I do understand that there are a lot of semi-to-very talented members who can and do mod their Valkyries and do a damn fine job at it, it's just not my cup of tea. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! -b.

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
Kanedas Bike replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
Ha! If complaining about products on THIS form worked then maybe I'd adopt the practice, but give credit where credit is due, it was the complaining in Japan or via Twitter that worked. Not the "Subjective Accuracy" Police MW. ... QFT - Priorities people. -b. -

Robotech Academy - You want a new Robotech series...?
Kanedas Bike replied to Einherjar's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Is this thread longer, or comprised of more comments than any over on RT.com or on the Kick-Starter page? I mean for a fairly large group of folks to be, let's say "ambivalent" at best about a subject it sure does get discussed...a LOT. Just boggles the mind that this is 39 pages long and literally every time I come into the Sci-Fi section there's another new comment (to which I'm now most immediately responsible for). -b.- 2025 replies

It's very difficult to say without more details. If we're talking about any of Yamato's 1/60 version 2 Valkyries (specifically which VF-1A?) vs. Arcadia's then the difference in cost would be because Yamato's pricing structure was less expensive (inflation, cost of production, etc.) than that of Arcadia's 3 1/60 version 2 Valkyries (the 30th Anniversary 1J and Roy and Hikaru's VF-1S's). If the discussion is about after-market pricing then you get into comparisons of scarcity, character or mecha popularity. -b.

Just get 10, a nice even number. Besides, you may need the extra in case of accidental breakage or in case you get a lemon. -b.
-
Hmmm...odd then that there's a difference (at least at first appearance). It could be as you mentioned that there's some mileage on the 25F you purchased. The only other thing I can think of is that I don't have the intake or missile attachments on mine. Either way, it's awesome you developed a fix for the issue. -b.

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
Kanedas Bike replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
LOOOOOLLLLL!!!!! Still, good for everyone that Arcadia is still open to tweaks based on feedback. And selfishly I think it's good if/when there's ever an issue that I do have enough passion about to voice a strong "concern" over. -b. -
Agree. And the sag on mine is more from the wing attachments of the Tornado parts themselves not fitting as snug around the wing than it is that the wings themselves are being dragged downwards from any additional weight. -b.

Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices
Kanedas Bike replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
Must have missed it, but I don't think anyone is comparing Bandai Frontier v1 or v2 to Yamato Macross Destroids (or using that as a case study for Arcadia Macross Destroids). There is truth that Yamato flooded the market and there were a lot of Macross items that warmed the shelves, Valkyries and Destroids alike but the point remains that Valks are the more popular choice/purchase. Seeing how long a Destroid last at sites like Mandarake or Jungle or how they sell at auction isn't the best barometer for retail sales because the folks buying actually target those items and probably do so because there is no other buying alternative. I would bet dollars to donuts that if Arcadia released these at retail with a standard production run you'd end up seeing the same type of clearance bin behavior as with the unpopular 30th Anniversary VF-1J. You do speak truth that IF Arcadia did them made to order it'd be the better bet. -b. -
Questions about Arcadia YF-19 and VF-1 1/60 Scale Toys
Kanedas Bike replied to Mr March's topic in Toys
Awesome! Glad that you're happy with your purchases Mr. March, I agree with Falcon18 - nothing beats the feeling of feeling like your money was spent on something that meets or exceeds your expectations. Now I want to go buy something myself... -b. -
Hope so, time will tell if it's a trend or not. -b.
