  1. To the best of my knowledge it's been sold out for awhile at HLJ, AmiAmi, Hobby Search and the like, but still fairly available at places that sell 2nd hand merchandise. Did a certain store have a run on their stock or something? There were tons available just a couple of days ago at or around $ 150. -b.
  2. Ugh, I feel like a grouch old dude, but I hated everything that clip showed, including the opening song. That said and incredibly off-topic I'd love a toy of the original Gadget-mobile (or however many needed for the car, truck, etc.). -b.
  3. Si. I feel like though I've missed a TON of back-story by not having read any recent Thor books though. I've slowly gotten back into collecting comics despite my better judgement. As a compromise I'm trying to stick to 1st issues, limited series and collected editions (that way I can just read the stories I want all at once). -b.
  4. Finished reading this which collects issues 1 thru 11 of the current (and soon to be ending) Hawkeye series written by Matt Fraction and it was really, really good. -b.
  5. The comments after all of those articles are just...ugh. Please wake me up when there's a trailer. -b.
  6. Disagree, or agree or whatever with both of you. As another kid of the 80's the only good G1 was TF:TM. The series is kinda hard to watch in my advanced age. QFT. Greater availability to Masterpiece releases priced at or below retail would be amazing. -b.
  7. So an update came out about the Hasbro Asia MP-10 re-issue, it comes with Vector Sigma. Received an email from BBTS concerning my pre-order the other day and here is a link to TAG Hobby's coverage; http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-1/hasbro-asia-2014%E5%B9%B410%E6%9C%8815%E6%97%A5%E7%99%BC%E5%94%AE-%E5%86%8D%E8%B2%A9-transformers-master-piece-optimus-prime/ -b.
  8. Fingers crossed my friend. I just see how cautious Arcadia is being (between questionable decisions like the 30th Anniversary VF-1J and Golden VF-19 bundle) and it makes me think that a VF-0S is not a forgone conclusion. -b.
  9. Agreed. Hell, a whole collection of pilots for Yamato/Arcadia and Bandai would be awesome. >EXO<, where are you at buddy? -b.
  10. Appears to be too busy directing episodes of Game of Thrones and Black Sails. -b.
  11. Thank you very much! For some reason I want to lean more towards the Bandai line but in any event I really appreciate the time you took to write up a mini-review. -b.
  12. ^Do you mind adding a line about which line for Iron Man do you like the most, S.H. Figuarts or Figma and why? Was thinking about a possible purchase but I wasn't sure if I should pull the trigger, and if so which line to focus on. -b.
  13. Well...kinda...when you think about G1, TF:TM and Beast Wars. But that doesn't mean that the movie makers shouldn't have put forth a little (more) effort to be consistent across the live-action movies. -b.
  14. Tomorrowland First teaser for Disney's new movie starring Britt Robertson, George Clooney, Judy Greer, Hugh Laurie and others, directed by Brad Bird. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1k59gXTWf-A Looks promising, for the most part I like Brad Bird's work so I look forward to seeing how this turns out. -b.
  15. ^Yep, it's the more rounded canopy that kills fighter mode for me on the YF-30. It's a shame I can't get over what really should be a "small" issue, but I can't. I know a few people like it but if the 30's Fighter mode had a more sleek look like the 25 and 29 I'd probably have 5 of them in my collection. -b.
  16. Correct. That said, I've noticed on my Isamu 29 with the Super Parts that the rotating pivot for the wing engines will move at a slight bump and honestly I don't remember if they were like that before the parts were put on (as some people's 29's (pick one) had that issue without the Super Parts added). -b.
  17. Lump that right in the same pile as the inconsistencies with how the Allspark, Matrix, Spark and any other "core" Transformer movie lore has been handled. One thing that can be said w/out little argument is that the writers have shown that they really don't put much stock in creating a consistent mythos across these movies. -b.
  18. Yeah, but I think you could say that for most/all of the Macross movies that have come after a respective OVA or TV Series. There are story/plot, Easter Eggs and details that seem odd or out of place if one hasn't seen the series or original first. Sincere apologies if I misunderstood the gist of your post but just like there are things that seem out of place in DYRL unless there is familiarity from SDFM the same can be said for the Frontier Movies and corresponding TV series as well. -b.
  19. Ha! One of these days I will. -b.
  20. Can't disagree, but I will say that I hated Blair Witch from jump and most found footage films make me roll my eyes although some are subjectively (or relatively?) "better" than others. And yes, Prince of Darkness for the win. I heat Carpenter and recently Neil Marshall who I think follows in the same vein of making some really good/fun cult-following type movies. -b.
  21. ^Inside my head a chorus of "oohs and aahs" just started singing. -b.
  22. Yeah, Cabin in the Woods is a stretch as a straight up Halloween playlist type of movie, but it's got enough "horror" in it that it's worth a second thought or discussion. I didn't like the ending at first either, but it grew on me as I took the movie as a whole. I don't mind that the Evil Dead isn't campy like the original (or really Evil Dead II), I just thought that it wasn't a very good movie. One of those instances where my normally very flexible ability to suspend disbelief couldn't deal. And yeah, Prince of Darkness needs to be on someone's list. That was some scary sh!t. -b.
  23. Same here! Although I'm still not entirely sold on Fighter mode I really, really like it in Battroid mode. Plus the matte finish is amazing. -b.
  24. Some really good (as in actually good and campy/classic good) movies listed. Not sure if I saw Cabin in the Woods listed, but that's be a good watch and infinitely better than that horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible Evil Dead movie which was horrible. And for the record I'm really digging Penguin's list. If for now other reason than the Neil Marshall love. BUT, if you haven't seen it already Halloween III Season of the Witch had nothing to do with the Carpenter Halloween movies was actually worse than the Evil Dead remake. The above is of course just my humble opinion. -b.
