  1. Which video? First? That's X4 Foundations with mods. PacMan? Probably yes πŸ˜›
  2. Been a while since I updated this here too. It's still work in progress but the home cockpit learned a few tricks: I also gave a detailed tour in a live interview going over many of the technical details: I got a little bit distracted because I got my hands on an old ViperPit, that I'm considering to convert into a VF-0. Meanwhile I got Ace Combat 7 and found out about a VF-1 mod for this so I was mostly enjoying this after reviving the old input devices (rudder, throttle and stick were so old that I had to convert the hardware to USB-C first). Still slowly improving and upgrading it, oc. Got the additional display I always wanted to fit in there meanwhile: Let me know what you think 😎
  3. I do. I managed to come this far but all the textures are missing and models rendered white. It's my understanding that this is a known bug of dgVoodoo2, that translates d3d9 to d3d12 (and that eventually to Vulkan for me), on AMD GPUs Played with all the options available on that but no dice. Any ideas? So close and yet so far.
  4. Care to elaborate? Feel free to dm. Just asking because I find myself currently in a re-watch (and dead gods this aged badly).
  5. I'm happy with that. We just re-renewed Disney+ anyway. Probably like most parents. And if there's a chance I can finally show this to my kids[1] myself I'm all for it. [1] Hoping for localised subtitles here, which is always a blocker for the little ones.
  6. Gave my VF-1 cockpit a good workout today πŸ€“ https://tube.tchncs.de/w/1nokGf66oWj34EdMvxYbSn /
  7. Thanks for the offer. I don't really have a need for this I made a rough model in Wings3D and that was enough to warm up the jig saw.The rest is really just me winging it.
  8. Glad to hear it worked out for you. Some don't make the jump and run back in terror πŸ€“ Personally my last was WinXP when I was fed up with this. I guess not much changed for the better πŸ˜†
  9. *chrchr* Kinda reminds me of "You wouldn't download a car" campaign xD
  10. I wonder if this could be turned into a mod for X4 Foundations or something πŸ€” They use Blender for their ship models and it's so well modifiable that people do total conversations for it - e.g. for Star Wars. One of my favourites for this is a BSG Viper.
  11. I admit doing that xD It's just a display after all and another auxiliary screen for my PC most of the time. Yes, positive crazy. Thank you ❀️
  12. I can hear that gif too πŸ€“
  13. Good luck I _may_ eventually get it for Steam where I'm used to beat games into submission to accept my weird controller setup πŸ€“ It's just that I'm not much into arcade type games but there doesn't seem to be much choice when it comes to Macross
  14. Curious about that too. It may be still possible by using two joysticks though. No idea what your system is but various software to slice and rearrange joysticks into e.g. virtual gamepads exist. I found no controller schema myself yet but my Google Fu is bad when it comes to JP.
  15. More a service but yeah. My plumbing pipeline is in Node-RED. This allows for easy tweaking via a graphical interface and also provides the data via Websocket to any consumer interested. This way I can leave the rendering of the HUD to another PC and not burden my gaming PC with the additional display. Having the stuff on the wire allows this. It's not required though and may as well run on the same machine. My joystick daemon for example reads the values for the status indicators from this too and sends it back to the Arduino via Serial. One could also feed OBS with this for streaming. Same technique. I explain a bit more of this here but it is somewhat outdated since this is based on the preliminary testing where I still used an Raspberry Pi to develop the principle. This has yet to rewritten for the current system but the basics are still the same. My goal is to move this all over to a message broker like MQTT in the end. That's fine for now though as I am still tweaking this _a lot_ and time to work on this is at a prime :-/
