I think I solved my own mystery with a simple Google search. It appears to be the autograph of Takumi Yamazaki who voiced Isamu!

I attended Anime Expo for many years and collected a lot of autographs. In 2001 I got this Macross Plus DVD signed. My memory is that it was the voice actor of Guld Bowman. If I recall, he was not an invited guest, but an industry guest promoting their Japanese acting company. Recently I looked up his name and it's Unshou Ishizuka and he has passed. I searched for an image of his autograph and it doesn't appear to be the same. I'm doubting that this is actually the signature of Unshou Ishizuka. My hope is that someone may be able to help me identify the signature.

FYI, autographs are difficult at Anime Expo. You have to line up really early in the morning on the day of the signing to get autograph tickets. Last time he was here, I lined up at 5am for tickets to be dispersed at 9am and I was able to get a ticket but I think it's even harder nowadays.

I still have my copy of that tape. I bought it from a mail order catalog, although I specifically remember calling in to order it over the phone. I don't remember the company or exactly when I ordered it. I do know for sure that I had it in April 1998 but I'm pretty sure I bought it over the Summer of 1997

I think the last time I went to Anime Expo was when he last attended in 2016. I may have to attend again.

I saw that the voice of Max Jenius will be a guest at Anime Impulse in Pomona on January 13-14. I think I will go. I'd love to get an autograph but it looks like the only way to get something signed is to purchase a $300 ticket. Even then, it looks like they are being picky about what he will sign. Still it would be cool just to go to his panel.
