Sylvester Stallone's ROCKY BALBOA.
Apollo Leader replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I watched Rocky I - IV a bazillion times on cable back in the day. I have yet to sit down and watch V all the way through. But this one I am very much looking forward to and it looks like me and some friends will be seeing it tomorrow night. -
I kind of speed read through that so I got some of the chronology mixed up. Anyway, the crew on that Bone really screwed up...

B-1B belly landing. Crew forgot to deploy the landing gear after having saved the aircraft from an onboard fire. Doh! At least it looks like its repairable.

http://www.geocities.com/asymmetrics/index.html A bunch of more asymmetrical aircraft, real and fictional, including aircraft by the king of asymmetrical aircraft, Blohm and Voss.

6 Years of the Macross World Forums!
Apollo Leader replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Movies and TV Series
Anything could happen in 4 years and Shawn might decide that it's not worth it or may not have anytime to dedicate to it, though a lot of things being done for the site and for the forums are being handled by Graham and the other moderators. -
There is suppose to be a third series of VF-1's, though I'm not sure if Toynami's specified what VF-1's will be represented. If anyone wants to see that third series or the FAST Packs, buy Series 1 and 2 which are out right now! Toynami has put out the best 1/100th scale VF-1 toy ever done and are supporting Macross (TV series and DYRL) with this release, so I say we should show our support.

It was early December 2000 when Shawn launched the first full blown forum. 6 years later, this forum is still going strong. I myself I believe was like the 6th person to sign up on the original forum; of course the August 2003 relaunch resulted in all of us having to rejoin from scratch. Anyone wants to hedge any bets that we'll be around for a 10th anniversary?

If Shawn ever completed this project, I would want a copy.

Gundam's finally getting the Lego treatment
Apollo Leader replied to gerwalk25's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Okay people, a show of hands for who wants to see the Gundam hater known as Graham banned from all future Gundam threads? -
I'm a few days late, but I wanted to say "Thanks!" to Graham for doing his YF-19 review. Hard to believe it's been over 6 years since the 1/72nd scale YF-19's came out. Time is aflight...

The Nintendo Wii Thread!!
Apollo Leader replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Penny Arcade (AKA The Further Adventures of Hikaru Ichijo and Roy Focker) had a recent strip regarding people's Wiimotes coming loose and breaking stuff. -
I'm getting close to beating it through on Hardcore, so I might give you a buzz on playing co-op in a few days.
-
Actually its a mix of CG and real life. It was made by some FX company in Hollywood for Bungie. But still, very awesome commercial. It will be interesting if the opening was suppose to be a flashback to the Master Chief's childhood.

SEMPAI! Since there might be campfire scene accessories for Hikaru, when will the matching Misa with sleeping bag be out?

Before I got to the end of the video, I had a sneaking suspicion that Jack's "rescue" wasn't what it seemed (the getaway car stood out like a sore thumb for example). Jack may be back, but how messed up will he be from months of torture and captivity by the Chinese when he is released?

I'm part of the way through Hardcore and have 27 of the 30 Cog tags. After I beat insane, I need to play through as Dom so I'll probably hook up with somebody from Macross World in order to get the Dom achievements. Speaking of Gears, I just found out yesterday that the guy who voices Marcus Fenix is the voice of Bender from Futurama! The guy has done a LOT of VA work in games and cartoons during the last decade or so.

Lost Planet looks to be the next big thing. Haven't had the chance to play the multiplayer demo which went up on the Marketplace right at Thanksgiving, but it sounds like this is shaping up to be a great game.

Have you gone to xbox.com? I think they have the answers there regarding how to transfer your old Live account and stuff to the 360.

Halo 3... you can now go to the URL without it redirecting to Bungie's site. Sign up for the public multiplayer beta is suppose to start sometime today.
-
Pimps at Sea (Alpha) Looks like Halo 3 multiplayer games are already being played on XBL. And some of the rest of us may get the same opportunity this spring.
-

http://www.toynami.com/macross.html Toynami updated their website last month indicating the VF-1J's are coming soon. Looks like it's time for me to do some digging and see what the real story is...

Street Fighter II: The Later Years
Apollo Leader replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Part 2! The years haven't been good to Bison (Vega). Sagat has a depth perception problem and now has a pet cat named Tiger ("Tiger Uppercut!"). Ryu is now selling his techniquies on infomercials. All in all, good stuff. -
I did try to get on right about the top of the hour, but Amazon was totally hosed. If I could have gotten one, it would have been a gift for my brother. For those interested, I saw several nice 360 pack-in specials for tomorrow. Gamestop will have Call of Duty 2 (Game of the Year Addition is shown in the add today) along with a one year warranty for free (best deal). Target I believe has Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter as a freebie. Shopko is including a Play and Charge kit as their special.

The PlayStation 3 Thread!
Apollo Leader replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Speaking of trying to find a PS3 at all, Only 125,000 -175,000 PS3's were released for the North America launch last Friday. If I recall correctly, the PS1 launch in the US/NA somewhere in the 150,000 - 250,000 range back in September 1995. Just a few months ago, Sony was touting a launch worldwide of 2 million systems. Since it appears that somewhere under 250,000 systems were released between the 10th and 17th, looks like Sony missed their original production estimate by over 80%. Not good...
