Gundam Musou heading stateside as Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. On PlayStation 3.................... and Xbox 360!
-
Went point crazy last night and this morning. Finally downloaded Centipede/Millipede along with the new Gears maps. Got Double Dragon downloaded before I went to work. Sometime soon, I was hoping to check out Saw III and Tenacious D; this download service for movie rentals on the 360 has been a great idea so far.

A few things from over night: 1) New OS update for the 360... new features include the Marketplace having it's own slide/pane, being able to identify what game is in your system without having to take it out or play it, achievements actually being ID'd when you earn them, and so on. 2) Double Dragon! Both the original and HD versions. The 360 version of Rush'n Attack is suppose to be out in a few weeks so I'm looking forward to that. It's the arcade version so the flame thrower should be there.

George Lucas: Spider-man 3 "Silly". You know what they say about throwing stones in glass houses, George!

You'd think after multiple attacks, intrusions, and moles you'd think that CTU LA should now be set up like Fort Knox! Obviously they need a more secure location... maybe this will be part of all the major changes for season 7? I wonder if it's been established if there are other CTU offices like this in other major cities across the US (at least ones with similar clout)? If I'm right, just two episodes left to go!

Ever see Nicloas Cage's "Firebirds"? "I am the greatest! I am the greatest!" Might as well ask, if the RAH-66 Commanche had gone into service, would you have picked that over the OH-58?

I got about 115 pictures at the Offutt air show yesterday. Saturday it got cancelled because of I believe the high winds and the threat of severe weather though it rememained dry from about 10 up to 6:00 in the evening. Oh well, at least I was able to get the lawn mowed! Sunday started the same with the majority of rain and storms moving out of the area arounf 9:00-10:00. Since the weather was almost identical to Saturday's, I assume it was straight out cancelled so I went to church as usual and was heading out to have lunch with friends. I decided to play it safe and called someone up who would know for sure, and it turned out the show was on after all! I got down there right while the Commemorative Air Force was performing. Right while I was waiting to go through the security line, Randy Ball took his MiG-17 into the air... only got a few distant shots of that. Since it looked like rain was coming up from the south I quickly went around getting a few pictures. Then the F-16 demo took place. Part of the way into it, a few rain drops started coming down; by the time most of the demo had been done, the rain really started coming down. Probably 95% of the spectators left. Since I had an umbrella, I decided to stick around to see if things would improve. Got a B-52 shirt from the B-52 guys while waiting... I'm not leaving an air show with out a shirt! Finally the rain quit and a little bit of sun light came through... with most everyone gone, now's the best time to get pictures of the aircraft! During the time I was there, I ran into a number of friends and aquaintences including one from Offutt that was working security detail for the show. I hope this shows to those running Offutt's show NOT to schedule an event like this during the middle of severe weather season here in south eastern Nebraska (August is a much calmer month), but still I managed to have a good time anyway. I'll try to post a few pictures in the next few days. (Sorry, David, no Airbus's or cvilian airliners or civilian cargo planes this year! ).

Saw it this evening. Loved it! Will see again soon. Besides Bruce Campbell, make sure to watch for the scene where Stan Lee talks to Peter. One more movie needs to be made so Dr. Connor can finally become the Lizard and Peter and Mary Jane can finally get married.

Just four words, "I-AM-IRON-MAN!!!" I know Toyfare magazine via Twisted Toyfare Theater will be having lots of fan at Iron Man/Tony Starks expense over the next year.

My first question back at the beginning did not get answered: has it been confirmed that the full uncut, in Japanese, First Gundam will see a US release in the future?
-
You must be talking about First Gundam? When they decided to air it on Cartoon Network, I think the CN and Bandai people knew it wasn't going to be a stellar hit like Wing, but it was neccessary to air it before airing War in the Pocket, Stardust Memory, Char's Counterattack, et al since it set the stage to all those stories. The things that specifically hurt First Gundam, besides being 20+ years old, were 9/11 interrupting the showing of the last 6 or so episodes, but especially the horrendous DVD release which left an episode out, was English only, and after the 3rd DVD they started to use the CN opening and closing credits. But did it it hurt the over all Gundam phenomenom in the US? The figures sold quite well; I rarely saw UC figures ever hang around to become clearance items and they were putting first Gundam toys out on store shelves as late as 2004 (the Arch Enemy RX-78 and Char's Gelgoog). Four First Gundam centered games were released on the PS2, Encounters in Space coming out over 2 years after the CN run of First Gundam and over 2-1/2 years after the first First Gundam figures starting seeing a stateside release. Back to the show itself, the last few episodes were aired at the end of 2001 and eventually part, if not all, the show was reaired on CN during the summer of 2002. Again, IMHO, it was G Gundam that really started slowing down the Gundam train, especially its toys. It also didn't help with the over saturation of the Battle Scarred figures (epecially G Gundam). Zeta not being aired on CN probably didn't help either.

I think you already know that Lou Diamond Phillips appeared in an episode or two in Season 1. When Keifer and Lou were fighting side-by-side, they should have had Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" playing in the background!

Aerospace related: Mercury Astronaut Wally Schirra dead at 84. THis now leaves John Glenn and Scott Carpenter as the last two. (I got to see Scott Carpenter in person last spring).

Yep. It was at the Air Force Museum since the late 80's, but when they got a B-1B a few years ago, they sent B-1A #4 to us. Unfortunately our museum decided to repaint the aircraft in the camo job it last had before it was sent to the Air Force Museum... I liked the white and black trim finish much better. Also it supposedly may end up mounted on a large pylon out in front of the museum. Of course B-1A #4 is unique in that it was the only B-1A that had ejection seats, but that it was built to production standards; if Carter hadn't cancelled the program, production B-1A's would have been identical to this one.

Yeah, Milk, those were the days. I can remember 6 ago years going into Target, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, and other stores and buying MSIA figures of UC Federation and Zeon Mobile Suits. I'm glad I bought multiples of nearly everything I got. The things that hurt the merchandising end of things was that no one was buying the G Gundam stuff and then they went overboard with the "battle scarred" figures. Initially they were cool and novel, but then they made the mistake of giving the scarred treatment to the G Gundam figures. Those sat on shelves for months. The final killer was when they decided to NOT release the Zeta figures. Even though they couldn't secure a Cartoon Network airing, they should have released the toys anyway. They would have sold because the Zeta designs are cool, but also it would have helped promote the Zeta DVD release.

A blast from the past - The "real" Spider-man movie! Make sure to watch the Director's Cut at the end!

As in ALL 43 episodes, in JAPANESE, with the ORIGINAL opening and closing credits? Where is there confirmation about this??? I also hope that MS Igloo gets a US release. As for ZZ, if it does get released, I'll probably get it, but otherwise I'm not chomping at the bit.

Gamestop has it listed as coming out in October. I know a few months ago, Bandai in Japan had announced that the Japanese version of the game had been moved back to later this year. After all the bad press the first Gundam game for the PS3 got, I think they decided to make sure that the 360 game was the best it could be... I hope!

Don't get me wrong, I think there is plenty eveidence that the 360 is malfunctioning on a higher average then other equivalent consumer electronic products. But at the same time too, I think that just a few fanboy rantings are blowing things out of proportion... the alleged 50% failure rate of the PS2 is a good example of this. (I've had my PS2 since October 2000 and after 6-1/2 years of heavy use and taking it apart so it could have a flip top, it still works fine).

The National Museum of the Air Force gets a preproduction F-22. I wonder what they'll do with their YF-22? For the awesomeness that is the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH, they have a very nasty habit of when they get hold of two of any one aircraft (especially something big like the B-1, B-36, etc.) they'll end up getting rid of the older, rarer, more historic example of the aircraft that they have doubles of. Since they have both a YF-12 and SR-71 in their collection, here's hoping that they'll keep both Raptors... then again, they are more then welcomed to send their YF-22 to the Strategic Air and Space Museum here in Nebraska like what they did with their B-1A #4!
